A Memorial Day Reminder From Gov. Jesse Ventura

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_Day (Decoration Day)

"Changing the date merely to create a three-day weekend has undermined the very meaning of the day. No doubt, this has contributed a lot to the general public's nonchalant observance of Memorial Day." - Veterans of Foreign Wars

This Memorial Day, I Pledge to Defend the Freedoms...

our ancestors fought for even in the face of escalating tyranny.

http://www.infowars.com/this-memorial-day-i-pledge-to-defend...

"The story of America is the story of a rag-tag band of passionate individuals demanding freedom from oppression, intimidation and tyranny. They didn’t merely demand it with public protests; they demanded it with force… on the streets of Lexington and Concord, the beaches of Normandy and everywhere that the men and women of America have fought to defend the ideals that made America the greatest nation in the world.

These people swore an oath to defend the United States Constitution against all enemies, and they made good on that oath through their determined actions. Many gave their lives in battle, and once a year we strive to remember them with each Memorial Day holiday."

Yes! Thank you, John Carter 444

Though the Revolution started with the public protest of the tax on tea, it soon turned into a full fledged and pledged war for liberty.

I think it was a month or 2 ago...

Jesse Ventura's fb page said he was coming out with a HUGE announcement. Did he ever make that announcement?

I would like to have Ben Swann...

have Jesse on as a guest to interview with his next media project.

Such an entertainer . . .

but a powerful speaker. I always have a little time for Jesse's words--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I watched Jesse in my youth...

with the AWA, then Hollywood movies. I remember my hometown armory having his portrait as Commander-in-chief, Minnesota National Guard.
Governor of the Land of Sky Blue Waters, and more recently 3 seasons of CT w/JV.

Hope he has a safe journey Up North this Summer... Peace

Battleground was on TCM last night.

Yeah. Here in Indianapolis it's all about the Race.

It's all I've ever known / associated with this holiday... since birth.

I REALLY look forward to moving somewhere where I can steep in the meaning / depth of this Holiday without so much as hearing a peep about the damned Indy 500! Can't wait....

To be fair, at the race they have a ceremony and all; but it's kind of a junk-grabbing wankfest when they fly a Stealth / Osprey jump jet over / around the track, and the beer-drenched masses go "Oooh!" and "Ahhh!" and all that.

(God damn this war-worshipping, militarized society. "Shock and awe, mitherficker... shock and awe!")

What would the Founders do?

Old Andretti Fan

Watched John race in NASCAR and Indy, Marco leading as I'm watching on the DVR catching up to the live race.

No airshow locally this year with the sequester, I think the advertising in racing and the fly overs should end, the money could be spent on VA medical care.

P-51 Mustangs for the NASCAR fly over at today's race. I read that the military will not be wasting money any longer doing fly overs, not sure if this is for all the races this year.

How 'bout a Reaper drone for a fly over? (LOL!)

; )
