    I really can't stand the

I really can't stand the pensive attitude of these government status quo product sales team reporters.

Not once did rand mention IRIS SCANS and Fingerprinting

Not once did rand mention IRIS scans and fingerprinting and other provisions in this bill.

It is the job of the elected to DEFEND and PROTECT our Natural-Born/God-Given Rights outlined by the Bill of Rights in the Constitution.

Many of you have become so eager to compromise more Rights away just to claim a win. How dare you, when we only recently had the momentum to affect the change that we seek, and hold ALL politicians accountable. It is interesting to me that I battled the same mentality, and still do even today, when speaking with those who insist that romney would have been an outstanding and honorable president.

I hope that my down votes soar in this thread. Then it will be known to the true r3VOLution that have left or taken a break that infiltraitors have diligently and finally taken over this board.

rand has done some really good things, as is to be expected from ALL politicians. But he has done some lousy horrible things that shut me off completely, this is without a single doubt another one of them.

    I voted this thread DOWN.

I hope that GANG of EIGHT works out for you.

    "Choose your battles wisely,"

"Choose your battles wisely," someone once said. And this fine Man (Rand Paul) is doing exactly *that*.

So implement biometric identification to get along and then address it later...

Sorry, but I refuse to ride that wagon.

Perhaps you can work your way

Perhaps you can work your way on to one of these shows and bring it up?

Perhaps we should ALL let rand, and ALL other representatives know how OPPOSED we are of biometric identification, rather than to idly let rand 'work his magic' after it someday passes.

CALL your reps, INCLUDING rand, NOW and make your voice be heard.

    Immigration Reform 2013: Gang

Immigration Reform 2013: Gang Of Eight to Drop National ID Card From Bill. It's been put on hold....for now.

    [[[ CAUTION ]]]

    From your link:

"Because E-Verify is a system that relies on human input and is thus prone to human error and prejudice, the best thing to do in order to ensure equal employment opportunity for all eligible workers is to follow the lead of Illinois and hold off using the system until greater accuracy can be ensured, or a better system, such as a biometric ID card, can be implemented."

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

    Make your case...

Argue and appeal to us, but please don't draw lines in the sand. In both presidential campaigns, Ron Paul held back certain information on certain issues when he debated or gave interviews. I assume he did this to reach out to people with his core message and not marginalize himself in their eyes.

I certainly don't agree with many of the actions and stances Rand has taken, but that doesn't mean I go around openly denouncing him either. It is possible to support independent issues and actions, support isn't a all on or all off switch we should have to throw.

This all in or all out support trigger is, I believe, a remanent of the "Two Party Mind-&#!%" bouncing around in every American's brain.

Should Rand be "held accountable" for his positions which fly in the face of the rEVOLution? Sure absolutely, we should all challenge one another intellectually and be made to explain our positions. If in the end Rand just doesn't see eye to eye with me or you so be it. Lets get a man or woman into office who does. Lets also appeal to people here through calm and well reasoned arguments, one mind and heart at a time.

    I did make my case.

Without informing the American people, and instead making this bill sound like something that we can all agree and 'live' with, our Rights continue to be further eroded.

rand SHOULD have spoken out about this when he had the opportunity as he did with his filibuster, which allowed him to gain speed and respect. He did not. As long as 'chess' is being played, the American people learn NOTHING, and will continue to promote the duopoly that does exist. Furthermore, rand's position on sanctions, among other things, are contradictory to this movement. And if this movement is to continue and succeed, we must stand on principal, or all is for nothing.

So, the tv watching masses listened to rands speech above, know NOTHING about IRIS scans and fingerprinting, and the bill passes with flying colors.

Do as you wish. My line in the sand is drawn. I stand with no one, except with myself.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Ok I can agree with all of that

Thanks for taking the time to spell your thoughts out, I think you and I see eye to eye. My point has really more to do with how people like you and me make our case in forums such as this one.

When I say: " I don't denounce Rand" I really mean that I will try to be respectful of those who hold him up as their champion. It is up to guys and gals like you to spread the info and take the arguments to their logical conclusions (which you now have wonderfully).

If I was to play devils advocate I would say that most of the public will always remain ignorant until so many voices cry out that it becomes "common knowledge". This happens not because of a guy like Rand, who plays chess, or even a guy like Ron Paul. This happens because many people like you never give up spreading information and making sound arguments.

When we do our job right, eventually there is an opportunity or event which forces the story to break through, and with enough built up support, our voice get heard. That's when people like Rand run with it because, the message has become widely acceptable.

So you are correct when you say: "My line in the sand is drawn. I stand with no one, except with myself."

(I also don't vote anything down here unless it is incredibly hateful, what's the point?)

Thank you for taking the time to respond :-)

Btw, nothing that I write is ever intended to be hateful or personal (I am happy go lucky and like hot wings). I merely point out facts and try my best to make sure that the point is taken without confusion.

Perhaps pure Libertarians such as myself...

I realize this line of thought is not new, and that many generations of Liberty Lovers have come before the 2007 revolution... but please indulge me...

Perhaps pure Libertarians such as myself have taken the wrong point of view on Rand and other Constitutional Conservatives (full disclosure: I was a const. conservative pre-2006).

It seems to me the general frustrations which a lot of the "old guard" Ron Paul and Libertarian activists are feeling come from a place of having fought a hard fight, all the while their efforts have been ignored/suppressed/mocked/marginalized & attacked. We've been shut out of two election cycles and given no voice.

Now all of a sudden many of "our" issues are ok to talk about and are being accepted, as long as it comes from this new Republican 2.0 crowd and not from us. It is easy to view the Tea Party/Rand Paul new wave which has come to the Daily Paul and other places which were once "ours" , as largely not having recognized the hard work we libertarian types have done to bring the issues we have in common to light within the "mainstream". And because of the history of blackouts and shutouts (even physical violence at caucuses), we don't like seeing "compromised" versions of our political view, we feel our message has been hijacked.

The BIG problem with this mindset is simply that "WE" do not own these issues, this cause, or even this movement. Our coalition grew out of a respect of other points of view and an intellectual dedication to the rational consistency which Ron Paul laid out in his many books, speeches, and political career.

While from our point of view, many conservatives and Tea-Partiers are not as open intellectually and have no problem calling us kooks and weirdos without getting to the core of WHY we think the way we do. This is a point of view more motivated by faith in dogma than by a consistent principle (or so WE think).

So we all bitch and argue and fight. It seems to me, we radical libertarian types ought to sit back and applaud what we can agree with, have productive discussions about why we do support the things we have in common with constitutional conservatives, and accept the things we don't respectfully... (that doesn't mean having to shut up, it means asking meaningful questions instead of insisting on our way).

On the other hand, any constitutional conservatives reading this should be respectful to us too, and hold those accountable in your circles who are not.

Let both sides put an end to anger and forceful dogmatic shouting matches. I am guilty of snarky remarks, which were intended to be bold intellectual assertions but were too aggressive to be of any good.

I care more about peace and understanding than I do about "getting my way", and so I am going to try to be more consistently calm & intellectual. Anyone want to join me in this effort?

Where does that put me? All of the above?

I've been a registered Republican for 30+ years and have never been a member of the Libertarian Party, so I'm not a Libertarian as such; but in spirit and values I am.

I am a Constitutional Conservative. That's not a bad thing is it? I am conservative in regard to government, a bit liberal in social issues, ie pot, gay stuff, etc....because I believe in personal Liberty.

I am a tea partier, been to the rallies but do not subscribe to any organizations claiming to be a tea party. I simply agree with the goal. Smaller government, fiscal responsibility and lower taxes(like 0!).

I support Rand Paul, son of my personal modern day hero, Dr. Ron Paul. Not perfect but human, he is a standard bearer for Liberty as we all are. He's the only car we have in the race and he has "pole position", so I'm gonna buy him some gas so we can win this race.

I am a Precinct Committeeman with the Republican Party of Lee County Florida. So I suppose I am a Republican 2.0 as well. Im certainly not a neo-con or a rino or the old gaurd. Dr. Paul told me to become a Committteeman because that is how we win. In my county, we (libertarian, Constitutional conservative, Ron Paul loving, tea party, whacko types) are WINNING! Fortunately for me, a lot of folks in my county did what the good Dr. Paul said to do. Take over.

Libertarian. Constitutional Conservative, Tea Party, RepuliCAN 2.0, Rand, Ron. All seems to go hand in hand to me.
So I suppose I am all of the above labels, which may give one the wrong impression depending on ones own definition of a label, however...if one were to discuss any issue with me, you would find that we agree 99%.

Take a peek at my profile picture. This is the new Liberty orientated face of the Republican party.
