Hazmat crews on the scene of train derailment, explosion


BALTIMORE -- Hazmat crews are on the scene of a train derailment and explosion in Baltimore County.

Baltimore County fire officials said a CSX train derailed in the area of the 7500 block of Lake Drive near 66th Street in Rosedale at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Baltimore County Public Safety officials Twitter account, preliminary reports indicate several buildings collapsed at site of train derailment.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

Johns Hopkins Bayview officials said it has not taken in anyone with injuries related to the incident and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center officials said it has not seen any injuries from the explosion, but said they are preparing in case that changes.

The cause of the incident is not immediately known.
