Guns.com: "Does England want its handguns back?"

The Telegraph, a UK news website, recently asked its readers to submit ideas for proposals to be introduced in the House of Commons (similar to the US House of Representatives). And the results indicate that England wants to repeal the handgun ban currently in effect.

While many ideas were submitted, there were a few choice ideas that stood out amongst the others, including term limits on Prime Ministers and a ban on spitting – yes spitting – in public. Repealing the handgun ban took the cake however with over 8,500 votes, followed by a flat income tax with just over 1,000 votes.

So, this leaves the question: Does England really want its handguns back?

Any historians out there?

Has any country repealed a gun ban absent a revolution? I doubt the Brtis will be getting their guns back any time soon.

With my little stint

in the history of England (like a terrible Jerry springer episode); their history is nothing but revolutions. I bet if they see more of these types of crimes they might really demand their guns back but it probably would require a good old fashion English riot. Full of them destroying everything. The other side of me; knowing that the goal is total disarmament believes we will only get to learn how well the black market works because their is no way that the English government is going to give back the guns.

I'm not sure interesting question.

Well we let a ban expire here once in 2004. :P

Thanks for the post

I think the natives in the UK are getting as restless as we are here state-side.
