to mangle defenseless babies because of a "sin" 6000 years ago or whatever.

Hitler is a saint compared to your god.

Tools of war are not always obvious. The worst weapon is an idea planted in the mind of man. Prejudices can kill, suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has an everlasting fallout all of its own.

Ask Michael Behe!

He would know better than I. His work is 'science', it uses logical principles that we use all the time.

From Chapter 9:

"Clearly, if something was not put together gradually, it must have been put together quickly, or even suddenly. If adding individual pieces does not continuously improve the function of the system, multiple pieces have to be added together."......He then goes into three proposals, two of which he dismisses due to irreducible complexity: symbiosis and 'complexity theory'. He then proposes that intelligent design be considered as an option. He does, admittedly, say that we don't have to know who the designer is to know their is one, but that is the closest he gets to your statement "that book makes an argument for evolution".

He actually spends a whole chapter, Chapter 10, defending Paley in using a watch for the comparison to nature, because a watch does have parts that are essential to its function. His 'beef' with Paley is that Paley looked at the wrong features of the watch.

The next chapter covers philosophical implications: including the missing transitional forms, the desire for a deity not to exist, and other fascinating topics.

Don't be cruel

(A little Elvis reference)

"If god has the ability to change atomic structure to evolve a hominid "ape" to a human... then why are babies born with all kinds of genetic problems?"

God is all powerful, but He did not use evolution. And the short answer to your question is Adam sinned.

In Genesis 1:31, after completing the creation of the world, including all plant, animal and human life, we read, "God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good."

Evolution tells us that it took God millions of years of suffering, disease, struggling, pain, bloodshed, war, ignorance, poverty, mutilation, anguish, rape, misery, torment, violence, and death to get us to the point where God said it was "very good."

Christianity, otoh, tells us that God created the world, plants, animals, Adam and Eve, and THEN sin entered the world (Romans 5:12), and we have been under a curse since then.

Why would the omnipotent Creator of the universe use such a wasteful (and cruel) process of survival of the fittest (meaning that animals have been ripping each other up over millions of years) to bring about the higher forms of life? This view of "theistic evolution" goes against God's very nature--and logic itself.

if your god ends up being the one who is responsible for

if your god ends up being the one who is responsible for the genetic problems of children because some guy "6000 years ago" sinned... I want nothing to do with this being.

also biological evolution only describes a process of transformation

i am done arguing... I posted proof of evolution and you still deny it..

wake up dude... religion of god is no different the religion of government and you will never be free until you realize this truth.

i will leave you with this quote to ponder.

"Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." - Denis Diderot

That's funny

I can't believe anyone would say that

"macro and micro evolution are proven science with irrefutable evidence."

Why have you been keeping this to yourself, since no one has ever seen any evidence for evolution? That may be a religious belief you have, and it's typical of religions to redefine words, but "irrefutable evidence?" Come on. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Now those are the words we should throw around when talking about evolution.

respond intelligently please...

Is all you have to offer, another criticism? Where are the answers?

Were you there?

Great question! I know I wasn't so how about we let free people believe how that wish? Down voters, were you there?

I'm here to stir the pot

Were you there 6,000 years ago? No? Okay, then don't try to use that as a valid argument since absolutely no one alive can say yes, whether it's 6,000 years or 600 million.

And I'm not sure how some grade school assignment confirms anything. I went to a Christian school back in the day; you're spoon fed this information on a daily basis, that doesn't make it credible.

Ummm

thanks for reinforcing my point (assuming that's what your intent was). Who said I was using anything as a "valid argument" (which you never mention my "argument").

I'm really glad I posted what I did, it really shows how people here are ready to ATTACK when there is absolutely no reason. Having fun yet?

Robot..One of the comments on the site mentioned it

"When I was asked that question by a intellectually abused but very bright child, I replied that I was there. She was incredulous, but she had to admit that she wasn't there and could not, therefore, affirm that I wasn't either. I, on the other hand, had to affirm nothing, and my assertion, therefore, was irrefutable. She was an honest child, eager to know the truth. I urged her to tell her teacher that she had talked with someone who was there. I hope she is okay"

lol

hahaha

You've taught that child an important lesson. Don't trust anyone over 10.
