(CNSNews.com) - Roman Catholic Archbishop Charles J. Chaput is calling on Americans to wake up and recognize that the Founding Fathers' vision of religious freedom is now threatened by the federal government.

amusing or annoying?

Few are as committed to a cause as the newly converted. Their passion and enthusiasm are infused with the frenzy of infatuation. It is gratifying to see them wake up, but it still gets on my nerves to have them hectoring those of us who have been beating this same drum (that they've just discovered) for decades now. I have mixed emotions; I'm glad that they've finally come to, but I still feel that they haven't suffered enough.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Excellent point, Virginian...

... and, as arguments relating to freedom of worship can be a fruitful way to bring others into the Liberty Movement, those of us in the Movement who are not religious should nevertheless be respectful toward those who have faith (the respect should flow the other way as well, of course).

Thank you for linking to this article, emalvini!

The cited column by Archbishop Chaput references an interesting article by Professor Anthony Esolen concerning the conviction of Kermit Gosnell. Esolen's article is worth a read, in my opinion.
