Greenwald CRUSHES on Morning Joe

“The White House talking points that you’re using are completely misleading and false."

Two key points that Greenwald makes here:

1. When NSA defenders argue that Congress knew about the extent to which they've expanded the surveillance state and therefore there's no need for the public to be concerned since this has all been vetted, they are withholding the fact that those Congressmen who did know were precluded from saying anything about it. Two senators who did know and WERE concerned - Wyden and Udall - could only hint at the abuse.

2. Those saying that these abuses have met court challenges neglect to mention that the Obama justice department has successfully challenged on the basis that the entities bringing the challenges have no standing. There has been NO court determination as to the constitutionality of this overreach. The NSA claims that since it's all top secret, they can't tell you who is being or has been monitored, so it's impossible for ANYONE, EVER, to have standing.

Glenn Greenwald did an outstanding job!

Thank you Glenn!

The Truth is that....

What has Snowden really done that isn't already known?? He just was able to get the major Media to report that we are all being spied on. No big secrets, he didn't leak vital information or people, he even makes a point of saying that was not his intention. So they are going to "Hang" him for saying that we are being spied on?

Absolutely none of this so secret nobody knew about it. Truth is, this information has been known for a long time and is out there for anyone to research and access. Author James Bamford has 3 books out on the NSA and the why and how they have spied on everyone. His last book was in 2008, "The Shadow Factory".

The NSA has been using the Telecom giants for years to spy on anybody and everything through the program called Prism. Prior to Prism, they were intercepting electronic communications by using big dishes to capture what was coming down to Earth from telecom satellites. But with the shift to fiber-optic cables, NSA was shut out. So they devised new methods

The NSA accessed AT&T and the other telcom giants by a splitter device that was essentially a "prism". It was installed on the fiber optic trunk cables, and the "prism" would split the the light signals coming in, sending one forward to the original destination, and another identical signal to the NSA side. Hence, the program was called "Prism".

The NSA then contracted 2 companies that specialize in what’s known as mass surveillance. Narus was used for AT&T and Verint was for Verizon. Both of these companies at the time had developed the hardware and software for "Prizm" and did the actual collecting of information which was then forwarded to the NSA. Both of these companies were at the time, Israeli companies, although Narus is now a subsidiary of Boeing Co. It is also known that Israel has been receiving the same information that it is forwarding to the NSA. This goes even deeper as now you have information probably going to foreign intelligence agencies.

All this is just the tip of the iceberg in revealing the "huge" spying industry and network that exists in the US and the world for that matter. Problem is, "We the People" are being spied on as well. The goverment will LIE and say they didn't know anything about it, they will say the average American is not the true target of the sping, etc., etc. It is all lies on top of lies. They are amassing information on "everyone" to be used at their disretion for what ever they deem fit. As Snowdon pointed out, they can pull up anything they want about anyone they want. Storage of all this information is not a problem anymore, just a matter of the newest and ever changing technology for storing massive amounts of data.

Welcome to 1984, time to stand up and shout out against this!

Subtle Point

The NSA has been using the Telecom giants for years to spy on anybody and everything through the program called Prism. Prior to Prism, they were intercepting electronic communications by using big dishes to capture what was coming down to Earth from telecom satellites. But with the shift to fiber-optic cables, NSA was shut out. So they devised new methods

So if there was a switch to fiber-optic cables, was there a gap in the government snooping until they figured out those "new methods" (the PRISM splitting device)? I ask rhetorically, of course. It brings up the point that the government can regulate anything they want to. So my theory is that there's no way they'd approve fiber-optics unless they KNEW they could use it to spy on the public. And, in fact, they probably loved it all because it was a chance to put in a state of the art surveillance system from the ground floor of the technology.

This is yet another reason to keep government regulations down to an absolute minimum.

Remember when the media was actually curious about secret government activity?

Hey Mika, everything Hitler did was legal too.

Who are these shills?

Mika Brzezinski is the daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, founding member of the Trilateral Commission, and frequent Bilderberg attendee. Interestingly, his son Ian worked at the same intelligence firm (Booz Allen Hamilton) as Edward Snowden.

Richard Haas has been President of the Council on Foreign Relations since 2003, was a Rhodes scholar and Oxford graduate, and senior associate of the Carnegie Endowment.

If you are a "conspiracy theorist," you know what these affiliations mean. Small world, eh? How these two peas in a pod (Mika and Richard) end up on the same show, one as host, one as guest? And they have the same opinion too! Wow...Just a coincidence I guess...

P.S. Dear NSA employee reading this, just kidding! I love my servitude, really.

Haas showed his true colors in his speech

"Hey Glen you said the purpose of this is to empower NSA. I thought the purpose of this was essentially to make the United States safer, and the idea that NSA would have certain expanded capabilities was a means toward an end."

So, he demonstrates that he believes that the end justifies the means.

That language is not in our Constitution, sir.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

That and...

...him saying that the only person who broke the law was Ed Snowden. Blowing the whistle on something unconstitutional is NOT ILLEGAL. And Obama's didn't swear an oath to "keep the American people safe". He swore an oath to uphold the constitution.

details overlooked

Let's not forget Mika's been very nice to Ron Paul in the past. Her problem is she likes the President and it's a human reaction to defend him. If Bush was President, it'd be different I'm guessing.

Also Mika's father has been one of the most prominent and loudest voices against the endless War on Terror, the Iraq War and the Israeli Lobby. He doesn't attend Bilderberg or Trilateral. Likewise, Richard Haas is also considered anti-neo-con.

Of course, all support the status quo, the national security state and intervention, but PLEASE let's acknowledge the FACTS instead of painting this uniform mosaic of conspiracy. It makes us look uninformed and not well read.

The truth is more nuanced.

Old News: Confirmed - Obama Is Zbigniew Brzezinski Puppet

Confirmed - Obama Is Zbigniew Brzezinski Puppet
By Webster Tarpley

Any lingering doubts about Obama's status as an abject puppet of Zbigniew Brzezinski and the Rockefeller Trilateral Commission ended this morning when the withered mummy of imperialism himself appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe* to campaign for Obama, urged on by his own moronic daughter, Mika Brzezinski, an Obama groupie and sycophant.
Zbigniew, a low-level Polish aristocrat whose life has been devoted to hatred for Russia, lauded Obama for his 2002 speech opposing the Iraq war, saying that he himself was the source of Obama's arguments back then - thus confirming Obama's long-term status as his puppet, which probably began in 1981-1983, when Obama was a student at Columbia University, and Zbig was directing the anti-Russian institute.

You're right, but...

...all three are interventionists, domestically and internationally, and that, I think, is what's most notable.

Huh? Mika has been no fan of

Huh? Mika has been no fan of RP. Joe's son is a fan of RP. Mika has been a mouthpiece for Daddy's policies.

Would be handy for Glenn to memorize this quote next time

he tangles with Mika:

“The technotronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities. ”

― Zbigniew Brzezinski, Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era

"Just a family tradition.."

observations are not endorsements

Here's some actual opinions of his on the topic.

Zbigniew Brzezinski:

"What worries me about some of the measures taken essentially are two things. One: are we really running the risk of crossing the borderline between prudent but constitutionally responsible reactions and panicky and maybe not even fully constitutional/quasi constitutional reactions. And that’s a serious problem...

Well, I think some aspects of the Patriot Act give me pause. Secondly, I’m not sure that throwing money at a security problem, and creating a huge security bureaucracy, is the response, because ultimately you can’t protect everything and you are just spending a lot of money trying to protect everything which means that you’re really spreading yourself thin and you create an atmosphere of anxiety, which the enemy can abet even by stimulating periodic alarms."

These people say whatever sounds best at the time

The quote I posted was first written in 1970.

I just think it would be great to put in her face because she acts like she's never heard of this stuff before and her daddy wrote the freaking book on the subject.

When he's not arming up Osama Bin Laden, Zeb's playing the role of the thoughtful liberal. I'm just really over these people.

one was an opinion, one wasn't

The quote was an analytical observation.

Also Zbigniew's former military assistant (William Odom) was the former NSA Chief who criticized Bush's warrantless wiretapping and the Iraq War.

someone's got to make the opposing opinions to get us to synthesis.

I think it's great that they criticized it, but didn't do us much good did it?

ZB has his thumbs in many globalist pies. I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, but I've got trust issues with these think tank/government carosel riders.

I feel bad for Mika because I know that she has struggled with eating disorders, which are really control disorders. The Technotronic Age book is dedicated to her and her brothers.

This quote...

...deserves ITS OWN Op. Want to post it?

It's fascinating to witness

It's fascinating to witness how the MSM reporters and their teleprompter writers are twisting the logic of the NSA scandal.

It makes it extremely easy to pinpoint who the true enemies of We the People are.

DOJ, an oxymoron in itself, is investigating itself? LoL

DOJ, an oxymoron in itself, is investigating NSA leaks? Paraphrasing Google's Schmidt, maybe these criminals at the DOJ shouldn't be committing crimes if they don't want those crimes exposed...ditto for US "representatives" and senators. LoL

At a minimum, OKC insider and gun-runner Holder should be in prison and Obama impeached.

"So what?"

"We all knew we were getting spied on" (except why is the Gubmint crapping their pants on the revelations?).
"It's gut-wrenching how much these revelations help our ENEMIES" (What about point #1?)
"It's all legal, though" (no one has standing to challenge it as to constitutional principles because we couldn't prove we were spied on as it was all so secret)
"All these branches of Gubmint are overseeing all this and keeping us SAFE" Senators can't even reveal the hair-curling extent of what is happening.
"We all WANT to be spied on" Speak for yourself, B!#@H.
Thank God for the Greenwalds of the world.

It's not "gut wrenching" that.....

They're upset they got caught in the crime.

They're not upset about the crime, just whining that they got caught. That's what "wrenched" their gut.

Is the law broken" question attempts disinfo and uses CFR Haass

CFR President Richard Haass' presence on 'Morning Joe' to field attempts to obfuscate and provide disinformation talking points like, "Is the law broken?" smacks of our increasing success in the liberty fight! They are getting scared! Time to focus more on the 'End the Fed'... a matter which will possibly be the genesis of many more, and much larger, distractions this year!

The CFR needed the 'Traitriot Act' to enable successive administrations towards globalism. This includes the ability to alter life in the USA so as to merge with third world nations! Above all it includes hiding the Fed from scrutiny... their printing press is both their cornerstone as well as their 'root of all evil'!

Key to their devious struggle against liberty and in favor of Lordship over all wealth, is hiding the key evil in plain sight... the FED and it's coming renewal. To this end the 'three step forwards and two steps back' techniques of the growth of tyranny must be engaged over and over.

Exposing the NSA at this stage, but in a manner which sacrifices their strengths for subtle gain, is their 'two steps back' strategy! Though it is great to have whistle-blowers, we must also consider the alternative strategies the CFR uses.

Consider each and every word of this well scripted 'film'; questions and answers read by possibly, chosen actors. The whistle-blower Snowdon is a very capable and experienced CIA insider. His job description is ambiguous except to other assets! Donating money to the Ron Paul campaign is not relevant to this strategy except as distraction. Many 'agents' donated small amounts to the RP campaigns for this purpose.

Here is one blog investigator's analysis on Snowdon already 'hitting the cloud' this morning, entitled:
"NSA leaker: are there serious cracks in Ed Snowden’s story?":

To find out if he is really speaking from the heart or reading scripted bait designed to cover their next 'three steps forward', one must go to the text. Does he speak constitutional truth? Or does he sound good when calling for alternative legalities under the cover of his expose'? What does he make possible going forward? Letting the people decide might be a euphemism for just knowing the truth, but it also fails to 'call a spade, a spade'! It fails to speak to the reasons he, maybe, should not have been involved in 'the agency' in the first place!

That is, it is completely illegal, oath violating, and destructive of liberty!

The potential Mr. Snowdon is a real patriot and means well for the temporal salvation of the Republic, and for the liberty of the sovereign people of this Constitutional Republic, is our hope. I stand with Ron Paul in defending him. On the other hand, that he is part of the strategy of the CFR, so ably illustrated by it's leader in this clip, is a suspicion the forces for liberty need to consider and vet!

The best admonition for the justification of this conclusion is stated by Patrick Henry:

"Suspicion is a virtue if it is in the interests of the good of the people!"

Good points.

I still think people are missing the big picture though. Do the words of our constitution have meaning or not? Pure and simple. If they do, then we have to backpeddle on a lot of issues...if they don', then, well, who cares?

Wyden & Udall

These two senators need to come out and tell it like it "really" is, instead of hinting to their constituents.
