U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act - It's A Good ThingSubmitted by Chris Concomitantski on Mon, 06/10/2013 - 15:47
"Be grateful for your worthy adversaries."
-Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
In case you didn't know, U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act is an acronym. It stands for
Act of 2001.
Now we could argue all day about the second part - Appropriate? Probably not. Required? Hardly. Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism? Only by taking credit for hundreds of attacks that didn't occur and chalking up the ones that did occur (Sandy Hook, Aurora, Boston) in spite of the legislation as statistical deviation or some other excuse.
"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn." Isaiah 54:17
But the first part - Uniting (and) Strengthening America - I say they got that part right. Boy did they ever get that right. I can't remember any other issue that has united Americans as much as the idea that their private conversations and communications are being monitored - pundits on the left hate it, pundits on the right hate it. Libertarians, anarchists, and communists hate it. This hatred has united us!
Strengthening America - how could it not? The country was founded on mistrust of government. That healthy sense of mistrust is back and may be stronger than ever. Our resolve has been strengthened. Our nation has been strengthened. And we grow stronger with each new revelation of these abuses of power.
"It's a good thing.
The U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act of 2001 is the wake-up call our country desperately needed, the abuses it legitamized are the proverial straws that will finally break the back of our oppressors and lead to a restoration of the Republic.
And that's a good thing.
