Thank God for Glenn Greenwald!

As some of you may know, I don't have cable. However, I was at the gym today, and watched Wolf Blitzer interview that tool from the Washington Post - the other reporter that Snowden released his information to.

The guy was a total tool. Snowden wanted to give the guy an exclusive. I can't even remember his name now - the reporter - because he was such a tool. I can't even find a video of that pathetic interview.

The guy was scared sq!ntless to have this info dumped in his lap. He went to his editors. The went to the NSA.

Um, we got this - uh - information... Is it really true? What should we do with it?

Pathetic. Let me say it again: Thank God for Glenn Greenwald. Thank you Edward Snowden.

If and when the time comes, I hope that I will have the courage that you displayed, for all Americans to see.

WaPo

Went from being a paper with some 'nads in Watergate and Daniel Ellsberg days, to now being shills for the state. Apparently that dude doesn't know what his paper used to represent. He will rue this day for the rest of his life - he had a chance to make a GD difference, and spit the dummy.

What a bunch of pussies.

I think it was Ayn Rand who said that when the free press goes, all bets are off and it's time to strike. We've been getting closer since the advent of Faux News and MSDNC, but now, I think we've crossed the Rubicon.

To the Ramparts!

I do!!

These revelations are what I have been praying for for the past couple of years...... that the people of the world would learn the truth about their being manipulated and told lies.

I will be praying for Glenn - one of the only PRINCIPLED people left in journalism, and for Snowden. They are noble men and true heroes.

Barton Gellman

Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter Barton Gellman

Only attacks right wing and neo cons

he was on Rachel moddow last night

She interviews him at the end. I haven't listed to it so I don't know what was said because it was another of her rambling story montage pieces that I find boring to sit through

Don't ever let this guy get away with what he has done

He needs to be trolled out of a job.

Government employees are a joke and irrelevant.

If they target us with the IRS, NSA, EPA, or FDA, et al why should we care about them dying in Benghazi on the battlefield or anywhere else?

Did anyone else see that interview?

It was Wolf Blitzer interviewing "one of the investigative reporters" that Snowden leaked to.

I had to sit though some interminable commercials waiting for who I thought was going to be Greenwald.

And I was excited to see it was someone different.

But then he turned out to be a tool.

An unusual event that I would be watching CNN. I don't normally like to pollute my mind like that.

And he was a tool. If you see the interview, you'll understand.

Rachel Maddow interviewed the cowardly lion tonight

Barton Gellman. He starts around 10 minute mark.

I couldn't even remember the guy's name.

Amen.Greenwald has already

Amen.

Greenwald has already tweeted that all claims made by the WaPo journalist about how, why and when he got GG involved were false: "Glenn Greenwald ‏@ggreenwald 23h
Bart Gellman's claims about Snowden's interactions with me - when, how and why - are all false."

This interview with Laura Poitras about her involvement also contradicts Gellman's dramatic telling of the timeline and story in his article: http://www.salon.com/2013/06/10/the_woman_behind_the_nsa_sco...

Lastly, Charlie Savage of the NYT also casts WaPo author's claims in doubt and has an article appearing in NYT tomorrow to that effect, he claims.

Above and beyond all of this even, I'm sure more will be revealed in the days to come.

UPDATE: Here's link to Gellman's story in question for anyone interested: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/code-n...

Thank you LapHog

You are no Lap Dog.

My very deepest appreciation to you, for your contributions on keeping us all informed on this story here at the DP.

Thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart.

The DP is, for better or for worse, my primary news source. I appreciate everything you've brought to the community, but especially, to me.

I pray that when the time comes, I will be able to draw upon the same reservoir of courage that was available to Snowden, Manning, and Assange. I pray that it is available to me.

Not a problem my friend.

Not a problem my friend. Wouldn't be here if I didn't share your sentiments.

And to update my comment that you were responding to: the Savage piece in the NYT has been posted, as has my DP thread linking to it: http://www.dailypaul.com/288500/nyt-quoting-greenwald-snowde...

We got ourselves a real barnburner brother!!!
