That primo question should be rephrased:

After making this movie and "The Green Zone," how could Matt Damon not be awake?

I think he is, like many Hollywood-establishment-controlled

actors are. But their livelihood comes from the system and it takes far less to get blackballed in the entertainment industry than speaking out against it.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

One thing that never ceases to amaze me as an "awake" person

is how much Truth there is out there, be it in movies, music, etc., that I could not "see" before I was awake.

The Truth is always there to be seen, but it is concealed or hidden from sight. But it is ALWAYS there waiting to be unveiled.

Thanks for sharing this!!!

thanks for posting :)

This is a clip that a fair amount of my contacts will actually watch

Brilliant Writing

Very powerful dialogue.

I'm Impressed

Is the rest of the movie this good? I never saw it but maybe I missed out.

Yes It's Worth Watching

Obviously this scene is one of the high points, but all-in-all the whole thing is well worth watching.

Much of the music is by favorite artist, Elliott Smith:

I have always loved...

This scene...Too bad Damon isn't screaming shit like this at the top of his lung from the pulpit he has created for himself...Then again all his work would dry up the next day...

Bad food, worse weather, please rEVOLution the states so I can bring my family back home!
Rosa Koire for for President!

They prophesized GW?

Bush was in the Nat'l Guard, or at least was supposed to be.
Too bad Damon's stuck in progressive land and doesn't get some real smarts and go liberty movement.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

Thank you so much for posting

Thank you so much for posting that scene. Very well put!

Not to mention

That you have to sign a lifetime secrecy agreement, are totally controlled in your personal life, can't discuss or even acknowledge what you do, are paid relatively little compared to technologists at places like Google. What's not to like? They tend to recruit either second raters or people with a serious totalitarian streak or other "problems". The CIA does this too. Recruiting out of Midwestern backwaters people without a creative or original thought in their heads. I had a buddie who was a GRU Major. His appraisal of his CIA contacts was they were fun to do martial arts with but otherwise pretty stupid.

Thetis

Yeah

I know what clip this is but I dislike Matt Damon too much to click on it and watch it. It does apply well, I just wish it was someone else playing the part.

Damon isn't just playing the part . . .

Damon and Ben Affleck WROTE the screenplay. He may not have had anything intelligent to say since then, but he deserves praise for having done it. I'm reminded of Alan Greenspan making a case for gold ("Gold and Economic Freedom") back in 1967. Before he sold his soul to the devil.

I'd say this is worth

I'd say this is worth circulating a bit to counter the "he's a traitor" argument. This does in a dramatic way depict the NSA as fundamentally hostile to regular people's interests and raises the question of who's actually traitorous.

Wow. 1997 movie. I don't

remember how many times I've watched it. Ashamed to admit the NSA reference in that scene always went right thru one ear and out the other. To me he could have been talking about any ABC agency...so thank you for pointing it out to me.

Hard to believe Damon and Afflack wrote this in their early 20's.

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

Hard to believe...

Damon and Afflack both support Obama.

It is a peculiar philosophy

that believes entirely in the power and size of government on the one hand, and mistrusts it on the other,
