If you haven't already, please go read my preface post on clarity here:
Okay, for the rest of you here's my proposal.
We all know Dr. Paul is not the best orator, he's not gregarious, and while very intelligent and knowledgeable, he rarely has a witty quip or comeback. (but he does get some good ones in there occasionally) His mild manner rubs wrong on some people, or doesn't even hit their radar.
But where Dr. Paul shines, is that
It's been said that the message of liberty is not conducive to the sound bite. I disagree. Looking at the writings of the first American Revolution, it was full of soundbites and slogans. We need to use these, maybe dressed up a bit for modern times, but some of them are good as is.
Dr. Paul needs to incorporate them ceaselessley into his stump speeches.
We, as well as he, have been called crazy. We need to make some lemonade. Dr. Paul hinted at this in the last debate with the whole "so let me get this straight" line when answering Carl Cameron about electability.
We need to create a "let me get this straight" scenario for EVERY major issue in the campaign. EACH one needs to hi-lite the absurdity and duplicity and outright FAILURE of current policy. EACH one needs to end with - "and they call ME crazy! End the Insanity - Vote Dr. Ron Paul for President!"
We can dub it the "End the Insanity" campaign.
We can take their epithet and turn it right back on them, because in reality - they are the crazy ones.
Many people were converted just on that one answer alone by Dr. Paul and he never delivered the punch line. Just imagine if he repeated those 'scenarios' on every major issue again, and again, and again, and again, etc......
People will start to get it. They will begin to see the connection how what seems right at first, is actually making the problem much worse (all of them) and that Dr. Paul has the solution.
Now that was the easy part.
The hard part is that Dr. Paul, or someone else, would do well to do some Perot style infomercials about each major issue. He needs to describe the current insanity and then explain his solution - and the solution NEEDS to be SIMPLE. (KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid)
People like charts and graphs, they are STARVING for information and a way to understand it. Dr. Paul can do this.
I firmly believe that these two combined tactics, working in tandem will satisfy the idiots as well as the average fed up American who feels lost and abandoned and lied to and cheated. They will respect someone who takes the time to explain all of this to them in a manner they can understand.
This is how we will win. I think it will be a long road without it.
