Congress has grown a pair? FBI head Mueller getting grilled on C-SPAN3

I've rarely heard Representatives ask questions with immediacy and authority, without sounding like they are grandstanding.

We could really use an engaged Congress that takes the job seriously and respects the law.

It doesn't matter.

It's all for show. They got busted, and they are trying to paddle as quick as they can to regain the peoples faith in the government.Once the people are appeased, they will go right back to their dirty illegal tricks.
Seriously, what is being done to Eric Holder?...Hillary Clinton?...Any of the many IRS officials?...etc?.......NOTHING!They are putting on the show of these trials, when nothing is being done about any of them. They wait till the people start paying attention to something else & rap it up.Then when someone asks about it,the response is that he was given a slap on the wrist.
This slap on the wrist bullshit is gettin real old real fast! These officials know nothing will happen to them because they have seen their predecessors get away with murder for years. Why should they follow the bothersome law, when they won't get punished for breaking it.After all, breaking it,makes them a LOT more money. And they only have to violate a few laws & destroy a couple peoples lives in the process. No big deal.Just think about all the money.....
WHEN WILL THE PEOPLE WAKE UP???These corrupt politicians need to be charged & imprisoned for treason. When they use their elected office to fatten up their personal bank account(outside of their salary),it is treason!Plain & simple. They are betraying the american people & should be in prison!!!!

Congress will have grown a pair when they draw up

impeachment charges for the current POSOTUS for starters.

Then they can go after the Fed.

(But of course they won't, because half of them are in on the scam.)

What would the Founders do?

It's ALL about using language

To one's advantage.

#17 An exchange between NSA director Keith Alexander and U.S. Representative Hank Johnson in March 2012…

JOHNSON: Does the NSA routinely intercept American citizens’ emails?

JOHNSON: Does the NSA intercept Americans’ cell phone conversations?

JOHNSON: Google searches?

JOHNSON: Text messages?

JOHNSON: Amazon.com orders?

JOHNSON: Bank records?

ALEXANDER: No. Michael Snyder

This is an interesting one and this is where the understanding of language and the law comes into play.

It has been exposed a while ago that the NSA redefined the way they define the term “intercept” According to their internal regulations, they don’t consider the collection of anything to be an “intercept” rather they only consider something to have been intercepted when they actually have a person listen to it after the program, the computer program, filters it and processes it and makes determinations about it.

So they don’t “routinely intercept” any of the things Johnson asked about.

Several reasons this is scary.

One – In order for Alexander to be able to TRUTHFULLY (according to the NSA definition of the term “intercept”) answer the questions in the manner he did, Johnson had to ask a very specific question. He couldn’t ask the head of the NSA if they COLLECT calls or bank records or emails to use later… he had to ask if they “intercept” them.

That means the entire “nauseating” exchange was scripted in advance… BY THE NSA.

That is scary. The NSA telling congressmen what they are to ask and HOW they are to ask it prior to a congressional hearing.

Conyers doesn't have a clue.

updated link...

"Yes I know that, that the content isn't kept." -Conyers[@37min]

Conyers doesn't realize that Muller is speaking from the specific perspective that the database of metadata is separate form the database of content. Muller will do whatever it takes to not admit [or avoid speaking of] the fact that he has access to a database of content. Muller half-lies in the [@36min] section just previous to Conyer's reply. Muller claims that "WE" don't have the content. Muller here applies "WE" to the FBI. Semantic ambiguity, confusion? It's the NSA[or someone else] that holds the content. Muller restricts his conversational and semantic focus to questions [of use, legality, technology and such] regarding only the database of metadata. Conyers is clueless to the fact that the [database of] metadata is ultimately used to query the [database of] content. This is clearly what the NSA[and other agencies] is most desperately trying to hide from certain members of Congress and the public at large.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Congress grows a pair when we the people grow a pair

Those critters in there are terrified of one thing - getting voted out of office. We just need to keep the pressure on them, hard. Full time.

Bump the bajesus out of this.

Although I disagree with Nystrom that our votes are actually counted towards an official election (Diebold), he's on the right path. We MUST let ALL of Congress know that we are PISSED and we will start NULLIFYING and RECALLING them if they do not act in American's interest.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

In a nutshell...

Americans are forced to pay trillions, create law after law after law which is never enforced. Government still doesn't understand the difference between a left hand and a right hand. Before they 'get back to you on that', government will strip the rights of the American people, lie through their teeth about it, and make even more laws to imprison and kill innocent people. Don't worry, they will get back to you...

on that.

Our representatives are being

Our representatives are being far too polite to these entrenched bureaucrats. Where is the outrage? I am done with government secrecy in total. I don't buy any of it anymore. Liberty deserves full light!

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

Our representatives are being

Our representatives are being deceived, just as you and I are being deceived. I agree though, that they are in many ways too polite.

This damn man...

Is the DIRECTOR of the FBI!
Mueller was GIVEN a list of the questions BEFORE hand... days before hand.
was answered as below...
I really don't know... I'll have to get back to you on that.

One KEY question was:
Is (streaming) Geo Location information considered META DATA or CONTENT?

Does there EXIST a (ANY Government Agency) database of Geo Location data?

Good questions... prepared questions... submitted questions.
NO answers.

We'll get back to you..

We'll get back to you..

We'll get back to you on that..

Uh, we'll get back to you..

Yes, that's uh, we'll get back to you on that..

Oh, yeah, and... I'll have to look at that. And then we'll get back to you..

Yeah, lol, I understand that I am the boss, but really, it's my staff's fault, lol, so, I'll get back to you........ on that.
