map of the ancient worldSubmitted by deacon on Thu, 06/13/2013 - 17:51
In 1929, a group of historians found an amazing map drawn on a gazelle skin.
Research showed that it was a genuine document drawn in 1513 by Piri Reis, a famous admiral of the Turkish fleet in the sixteenth century.
what makes this map special,is it shows the arctic circle unfrozen
edited for facts or rather, the lack of them, thanks DPer's
this begs a couple of questions, doesn't it?
like when was it created? if it indeed shows grass and trees, where it is frozen
who used this map,and for what purpose?
how did who ever made it,
is it possible that columbus used this to find the new world?
