This is wonderful to watch: A Dolphin Asks a Human for Help!

We have seen animal rescue, but rarely have we seen the animal search for humans to save it!

On a night-time dive near Hawaii, 2 divers were found by a bottlenose dolphin and started to swim around them over and over again. When looking closer, one of them discovered the reason for this strange behavior - the dolphin had a fishing line hooked around it, hindering its ability to swim.

They cut him free, and the dolphin swam away, relieved. The fact that a dolphin would come to humans for help is once again evidence of its amazing intelligence, as most injured animals would never come close to a human and would actually be aggressive and defensive. This is amazing to watch and a life-time experience for those two divers, who got to share a moment of true understanding with a wild animal.

A definite must see. Thanks

About time we returned the favor.

Considering how much we've exploited them. I knew the US Navy used dolphins with their frogmen, but I just recently I discovered that dolphins were utilized as far back as the Vietnam war by the Navy to protect US frogmen while they were infiltrating Cam Ranh Bay by Hanoi.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

I believe what you have posted.

Cannot view because I rarely have the opportunity to evidence much goodness in todays world anymore so I do not know how ai would react. :(

Cheers.... I am sure and will imagine it was beautiful,

I had a beautiful dream the other night, the best in most likely a decade, I am still in a bit of a daze because of it. :)

Touching, but troubling

This is the third happy mammal encounter story I've heard today; two whales and a dolphin. Touching, but it begs the question - why can't we, as a society, treat humans with that same love and compassion. Seems that some think of our fellows as fair game and kill and maim them as they see fit. Perhaps society, at least our Western society, should think of humans more like one thinks of the other critters and stop waging war on them. Just a thought...

My mom and dad drove around and passed out 30 egg mc muffins and 2 cases of cold bottled wate to anyone on a bus stop or urban tent. Don't expect the state to she'd light on mission trips. Humanity will push on no matter how oppressive the stat becomes. My good friends grandma once told me a story about how in the 40s she would always make the biggest pot if soup and feed the kids in her neighbor hood. We have to stop living through other people's kindness and authenticate vertious actions with our own muscle fiber and spiritual strength through the Holy Spirit( my phone capitalized Holy Spirit on its own!) In man/ big boy terms get off your computer and interject yourself into life's that need help and quit living off of second hand humanity experiences.

Not at all belittling what

Not at all belittling what your parents did in spirit... but are they just assuming everyone at a bus stop is starving and in need of GMO shitty food? T

In phoenix

No i think my mom was assuming that the cold fluoride-free water would offset the 1 gmo egg mcmuffin. Come to Phoenix and ride the buss you might get reality checked, if not by the poverty maybe by the 100 degree heat at 8am.

Good Question Gary...

It really depends on what animals you are talking about. Some animals are dangerous. Some are not..

Same goes for people. Some are loving and caring and some are very dangerous.

I believe our reactions and responses to people, place and things affect the outcome of any given even.

If a man comes at you with a knife, you can either run away or defend yourself.. Are you prepared for anything or nothing?

But I stop here so as not to get overly philosophical..

suffice to say that in general I do agree. We shouldn't we treat one another like this man treated the dolphin...

Good question..

AWESOME!! I Love Dolphins!!

This creature knew this man was going to help it

In 2005, there were press reports that some U.S. military dolphins based on Lake Pontchartrain had escaped during the Hurricane Katrina flooding. The U.S. Navy dismissed these stories as nonsense or a hoax, though they may be taking on the status of an urban myth.
