Turmeric is one the most thoroughly researched plants in existence today. Its medicinal properties and components (primarily curcumin) have been the subject of over 5600 peer-reviewed and published biomedical studies. In fact, our five-year long research project on this sacred plant has revealed over 600 potential preventive and therapeutic applications, as well as 175 distinct beneficial physiological effects. This entire database of 1,585 ncbi-hyperlinked turmeric abstracts can be downloaded as a PDF at our Downloadable Turmeric Document page, and acquired either as a retail item or with 200 GMI-tokens, for those of you who are already are members and receive them automatically each month.

Given the sheer density of research performed on this remarkable spice, it is no wonder that a growing number of studies have concluded that it compares favorably to a variety of conventional medications, including:

Lipitor/Atorvastatin(cholesterol medication): A 2008 study published in the journal Drugs in R & D found that a standardized preparation of curcuminoids from Turmeric compared favorably to the drug atorvastatin (trade name Lipitor) on endothelial dysfunction, the underlying pathology of the blood vessels that drives atherosclerosis, in association with reductions in inflammation and oxidative stress in type 2 diabetic patients. Gratifying. Once again science confirms the intuitively obvious.

yup

been following the amazing studies on turmeric----

just one problem----- we don't absorb much,,,, maybe 20%

we need it in a more bio-available form to get these therapeutic doses needed for these amazing recoveries

I see some trying to do it liposomaly,,,, but no one knows how to measure what it does-is increase to 40% - 60%?????

I've been making a great

I've been making a great anti-inflammatory turmeric drink for some time. Take one teaspoon of powdered turmeric and boil in one cup of water for about a minute. Works even better if you shake a small amount of powdered ginger in too before it boils. I put a little sugar and lemon juice to make it taste a little better. Great for pain! But both are blood thinners so be careful if you're already on blood thinners. Good stuff!

I upvoted ya all,

because you're right.

Great find

Some other great stuff, black walnut, oregano oil (the real stuff, not the Mexican sage; Oreganol P73) , coconut oil, Manuka honey extra strength, Licorice (DGL)... so many great things out there!

+For Turmeric.

When I cook Quinoa, I almost always add Turmeric.

I usually eat Quinoa daily (and had it for breakfast today.)

Bump for Turmeric

Make it so
