Want to know what we did to

Want to know what we did to the Indians? It is all right here in about a 5 minute song..

Bump ...

For historical research

Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a 100% fatality rate.
Don't Give me Liberty, I'll get up and get it myself!

I say there boy, I do not

I say there boy, I do not recall reading this in my white-wash Scholastic text book.

Southern Agrarian

yes! Thank you; it's about time . . .

this came to light!

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Trust Government?

Ask a native american if we should trust the district of criminals that is the government.

Liberty = Responsibility

oh, and . . .

since many mainstream not-native Americans are not aware of the dangers of chemical contaminations, etc.--

and since the government hasn't advertisted it--

I think some native Americans are just waking up to this:

The problem is, however, that though this shows the poverty, it doesn't explain the underlying problem (besides the fact that the people were pushed/forced onto reservations and had their way of life stolen)--

The fact is that the federal government came in and built poisonous homes--

with building materials filled with toxins--hazardous--

and nobody warned the Lakota. Of course, this has happened in the rest of the country, too, but the houses were pushed on the people--the plains Indians were healthier in tipis--

with furs to keep warm--

there have been a few 'rebels' who have kept the tipis, but the pressure to get rid of tipis is enormous--

in these sick homes the mortality rate, especially of children, is very high--

and don't even get me started on the water supply--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

..how about the time the

..how about the time the government gave them blankets in exchange for land and they were filled with smallpox germs. Please listen to this, a song from a great Indian singer..

and a newer version here.

A lot of the Native peoples I talk to are "patriots" of this country, veterans, and no different than many "white" people. We even carry the american flag in powwows. I often wonder why... it is like going to a Jewish gathering and seeing them parading around a nazi flag.

But there are still a good number of us who know better and aren't afraid to speak up about the history.

this has happened to many ethnic groups--

honestly I think the memory is still too fresh--

I'm glad you are awake, though--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Of course...

And sometimes I think the ethnic group that got hit the worst were the whites.

That's why the news reports have the words

"Recent history" in quotations. Good find, though.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

Selective history

often triumphs over real history. Thanks for the post.
