This is not old news, it is happening now!

Bump!

This was a few days ago

The government was receiving such terrible backlash for their rubber bullets and tear gas that just today they made it illegal for the police to use them. Now the police (some) are on the side of the people, trying to save their ass really. One thing is probably for sure, Dilma, the commie president will lose her election in 2014.

I hope that becomes a trend

I hope that becomes a trend in this hemisphere.

Thank you for your information. I didn't realize this was old news since I just saw it today.

I wouldn't count on it happening here. We love our police

state too much, maybe with some more pain and hunger... maybe!

The sad thing is in Brazil they are still asking for the government to do MORE! They don't get that government IS the problem. They want the government to provide better education, better healthcare, etc.. I have family there and I try to tell them the answer is smaller government not better government, but they mostly ignore me because I'm too radical in their eyes. I get the usual, "but who'll pave the roads" type crap!

I'm so sorry that you have

I'm so sorry that you have family there who won't listen. Same problem with mine when I try to tell my Orthodox sister on the West Bank that she's supporting Zionist bankers.

I agree. It's extremely sad for them, but pleased that at least you're awake.
