Brilliant.

These hosts obviously don't realize how transparent they are with their negativities.

Apparently, Russell Brand can see the sub-texts instantly.

"Pop Culture" is an insult to Russell.
He's doing something thoughtful and he stands out.

It's great to see how Russell can creatively express an otherwise negative reaction into entertainment, even to the point of returning a few insults over their heads.

These hosts are an embarrassment to USA and it's poop culture.
They gave Russell fuel for an improvised display and got the 30 seconds they asked for.

..and (to their credit), Russell wins them over in the end.

Good job Mr Brand.

Unpredictable, witty and sharp...

BTW around the 3:08 mark Brand starts wandering away from the anchors to the back of the studio with computers and asks what the people back there are doing and was told they were social networking. These are probably the real-time propagandists on social networking, commenting on blogs, message boards like the DP, spinning the mainstream news real-time. There are teams of people that do this all day long just like intelligence teams probably have an entire building full of people taking over the popular forums, facebook, twitter, etc., comment sections around the world. It's also funny because the anchor quite brazenly and appropriately calls these social networking propagandists 'ACTORS'... and they probably have many pseudonyms. The media propagandists and the mainstream media that spin real stories and perpetuate fake news are really just an extension of military intelligence.

russell brand talks guns with piers morgan

MORGAN:

You're doing a world tour called The Messiah Complex. I'm going to come to that a little later.

But first of all, I just want to talk to you. It's the sixth anniversary of Sandy Hook. We've been talking to Harry Connick about that.

What is your view of America's relationship with guns, because you and I come from a completely different culture?

But what -- what's your take on it?

BRAND: I think as an immigrant in this country, a good degree of caution is advised with these matters, as you yourself have experienced from your own outspoken views.

To me, I remember like when I first got here thinking, oh, my God, I'm allowed a gun. That's really cool, like, you know, and (INAUDIBLE) about justifying it in innumerable ways, you know, because it's undeniable, that potency, that sexiness, that power at the end of your arm.

And people that knew me said, you should not get a gun, you don't have that kind of personality. You're not a person who should have deadly force at your disposal. And I thought, I should have deadly force at my disposal. And (INAUDIBLE) about it and I went to a gun range and I learned a little bit about shooting and all that kind of stuff. And in my mind, it's like I want to be able to protect my home and protect the people I love.

But, you know, like I -- I'm the (INAUDIBLE) procrastinator about it, because I'm a kind of a liberal person, I suppose, at heart and a bit of a hippie. But, you know, guns is guns. They're kind of cool.

But after the Sandy Hook tragedy to which you referred, I thought how can I legitimately hold the opinions that I do and then hypocritically purchase a firearm?

So I have not. My feeling is that, you know, the more guns that are available, the more likely for them being used incorrectly here.

That was pretty awesome. Yay for our vacuous news anchors.

Mika

Bet after the show Mika went "crying" to Daddy Zbigniew!

Wierd. False advertising.

All I learned from that was all the anchors at MSNBC are attracted to Russell Brands.

Well he did a really good job

Well he did a really good job of breaking them from character and they didn't cut to commercial. Wish had something to say other than talk about himself.

Early in his opening monologue, Brand pleaded: "Please, America, elect Barack Obama. On behalf of the world."

English and American

I've forgotten which English comic explained it this way (on a talk show in the 70s), but he said that Americans use English to reveal, and the English use English to conceal.

Example: "She doesn't hate mealtimes," vs "She's fat." If an English person said to an actress that her acting was "incredible," it would not be a compliment.

The reason is that America did not have English as its native language for centuries. We had German, French, Gaelic, Italian, Polish, Spanish, and many other languages (including native American languages), as well. So, people had to be simple, to the point, and avoid the subtleties of the English style of speaking (designed to say rude things in the nicest possible way), in favor of words that would be understood by all.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Indeed

I've always noticed that the English never say what they mean. They come off very slimy if you ask me.

To your "incredible" example: How would an Englishman compliment an actress after a good performance?

AGGG...!!! I never made the connection...!!!
