New study: GMOs linked to blood cell disorders, leukemia

(NaturalNews) Widespread industry claims that the altered traits of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) do not persist in food and are thus harmless to humans have once again been proven to be false. A new study published in the open-access, peer-reviewed Journal of Hematology & Thromboembolic Diseases has revealed that GMOs indeed damage and toxify human blood cells, and can consequently lead to the development of deadly blood diseases like anemia and leukemia.

Researchers from the Department of Genetics and Morphology and the Institute of Biological Sciences at the University of Brasilia learned this after feeding test mice various doses of Cry proteins, or Cry toxins, which are insect-killing agents purposely engineered into many GM crops. After administering just one dose of these toxins, the team observed the development of a number of different blood abnormalities, many of which became progressively worse in the week following the single dose.

NaturalNews is not a source

No strong opinion either way on GMO, but I'd just like to point out to those who are interested in these things... The Journal of Hematology & Thromboembolic Diseases which published the research lauded by these articles, released a single issue, their first, in January of 2013, and no issues since.

Barring silly claims of conspiracy to quash anti-GMO talk in the "reputable" journals, it seems to me that NaturalNews is willing to latch onto any and all "evidence" that confirms their bias, no matter where it comes from.

Heck, I could publish a research journal if I wanted to. Who wants to submit some articles?

Show me one scientific research document

that shows GMO's are safe.

I see lots of claims all over the web that claim GMO's are safe, but none with any proof.

Even Monsatans website makes the claim but when you click on the links, they just lead to a bunch of double talk.

Most website continue the same crap that we've been eating GMO's for years with no health effects. But when one as Natural News show there could be a problem all most are saying is that they have an agenda against GMO's.

So where is the research that shows without a doubt GMO's are safe?

I read about a lot of scientist that where fired for asking questions about GMO's.
