Lil Wayne Desecrates American Flag; A Veteran Responds

SOURCE: http://bobpowell.blogspot.com/2013/06/lil-wayne-desecrates-a...

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt7yYIo6p-s

Outrage swirled as a video of rapper Lil Wayne trampling on an American flag was released on the Internet. Wayne defended his actions in a post on Facebook.

"It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America. I was shooting a video for a song off my album entitled 'God Bless Amerika'. The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed that behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America," he said. "In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal what is behind it but will never see it on the ground." the rapper posted.

Last week the Home and Garden network received complaints about using an American flag as a table decoration.

It is the editorial position of The Truth Is Viral that the American flag is not a table decoration, and regardless of what the end product of Lil Wayne's video may look like, it is never OK to purposely let an American flag touch the ground, much less trample on it.

While the men currently in control of the government are apparently clueless as to what the flag represents, or if the reader of this missive has forgotten, the flag - The one that drapes the caskets of those who gave their final measure of devotion for it - represents the blood and bandages of all who fought for the ideals that were set forth by the Founders; that all men are created equal. This sentiment is echoed when we pledge allegiance to the flag, the ending phrase being, "...with Liberty, and Justice, for All."

No matter how far the Republic has fallen, as we approach the 4th of July, Independence Day 2013, let us keep in mind what the flag represents and remember those who died for those ideals. Let us have one symbol left to rally around, something that represents the best of America and Americans, something that we don't throw away when we're done with it. Something that we treat with respect.

Im a bit more worried at the Nazis who have taken over this country and are busy destroying individualism and human freedom as we spiral toward an Orwelleon nightmare than some rapper tap dancing on a piece of cloth which symbolizes the oppressive central government. As far as im concearned, the Gadsden Flag represents America better than the stars and strips which begin to look like prison bars to me.

Veterins didn't die for the rag, they died for freedom. Trouble is, they were fighting the wrong enemy.

The Flag

The colored rag, steeped in tradition, stained with the blood of sacrifice, beacon of liberty and symbol of a united nation..
Used as the instrument of choice, by those who control, to propagandize and manipulate those whom it represents.
Fly it upside-down Bob, on the 4th.

Good post, despite the frendly fire.

what people seem to forget is

what people seem to forget is that there is a difference between the Government of the US and the Country. I consider the US flag a symbol of the Country. It is the Government that is evil.

Some people know very well that there is a difference between the government and the country. They consider the US flag to be a symbol of the government. In particular, they feel/observe that the military serves the government. What do you have to say to them?

I'm no fan of Lil Wayne or what ever his name is...

But having said that, many people do not understand that the flag that the Lil feller stepped on was not an American Flag as many of you think. For the flag to be an American Flag it must by definition be made up of three colors that are distinct.

Specifically the colors are this,

Old Glory Red
Old Glory Blue

The US flag is made to "G-specs." Many of you interested in what a US Flag really is should take the time to find out that all these flags being flown over peoples houses and businesses are by definition not a US Flag. You can't just go down to your local Walmart and buy a "G-spec" US American flag. So when you see some bad singer step on what appears to be a US flag, take solace in knowing it's not indeed a US flag. Not by size not by color so it is what it is and it ain't a US flag. It is neither by size or color an American flag that this funny little man was standing on so rest easy knowing that old Glory is "aok."

A 17 year old boy designed what we now see as the American Flag. He was living at home with his Grand Parents when he designed it. His name is/was Robert G. Heft.

I realize some people may say it symbolizes our Flag but it is not a US Flag so if we can at least understand that.

Just for the sake of refresher on Lil Wayne's

Just for the sake of refresher on Lil Wayne's political analysis skills:

"You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us."

Awwww!!! Pooooooor baaaaaaby!! For Mr. Lil Wayne's enlightenment:

Well, can't speak for all republicans (and btw: assuming them as people who DO know what a republic is), but AFAIC, I beg to correct Mr. Lil Wayne with:

it's just I'm never going to like crying babies morons who can't even see their boss/daddy/buddy ObaMARX is screwing EVERYBODY, including them, with a big straight smile. 24/24, 7/7, and 365/365.

And that's from someone who DO pay ALL OF HIS TAXES on time, btw, Mr. "Lil" Wayne. (As I heard you have some timing issues with those, sometimes)

So, as for what the same "fine sir" finds appropriate/funny/trendy/meaningful to do with a flag, U.S. or not...

... yeah, right.

Seen before, I think.

the "republicans" did not like us either.....

vehemently as I remember....

Yeah, I know. The so-called "republicans" you're alluding to...

Yeah, I know.

The so-called "republicans" you're alluding to... still a confusing typo, I agree, for the more proper : NEO-CON-ARTISTS.

Idiot with no balls

George Carlin was right about symbols.

Now, that's such an easy provocative trick, isn't it, Lil Wayne darling?

It's getting old though, don't ya think?

How about he picks up another symbol about Africa and make fun of it, just for fun, hahahaha, right? Ya know, debasing fashion? Then he'd have balls if it's all about provoking. Wouldn't he? "Screwed Afrika Ur Funny!" for the title? Would be hilarious and of great taste, too, no?

As for me, I'd rather ask the darling rapper boy to define "Amerika" for me.

Wait. No, I wouldn't, silly me, I assumed he has a brain.

does a sycophant have balls.

silly question if you ask me. or was it a supposition? my mind wanders....

the only thing lil wayne did right.

unless I digress...

I really

don't care what he did about the flag. His music is atrocious. No talent what so ever. Anybody can do what he does.

Who cares what Lil Wayne did in a stupid video?

I don't like the guy at all, mainly due to his terrible music and his perpetuation of a culture that I loath. But I don't intend to join the lynch mob and act the same way the Muslims acted about the cartoon drawings of Muhammad (which is the exact same thing). It's a freaking flag. The "fought and died for" doesn't work on me, as IMO the only just reason for going to war is to defend your homes and loved ones, not fighting for an inanimate object or state symbol. I dislike flags anyway, as they stealthily invoke nationalism and group think, as is evidenced by the fact that this video is even an issue. Speaking as an individualist, who cares what some moron does to some collectivist symbol? The anger only makes sense if you see the American State as part of your identity, in which case I would suggest searching for a more solid foundation upon which to base your worldview and identity.

Right on.

I remember hearing as a kid that it wasn't illegal to desecrate a flag in America because they have free speech and freedom of expression down there. What is more American than that?

Lil Wayne

is still scum and perverts our children on a daily basis. Wears devil horns and puts women in cages covered with blood. And only teenage kids listen to his garbage. He is a horrible person and I will never side with scum like him.

1950's, is that you?

Isn't that what was said about Elvis?

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

is nothing like Lil Wayne. That is a horrible comparison.

I wasn't comparing the two. Re-read what I wrote. I was demonstrating irony based on what was said about Elvis when he first came out and church groups were picketing his concerts in relation to your irrational reaction to an artistic genre.

I see what you are saying. But people like to bash religion and complained about how we complain, but if they believe in Satan then they are religious too. I worked for the music industry. Lil Wayne is a nasty person. Filled with hatred and only little kids listen to him which is destroying kids minds. I use to say it all the time when i was little. "Why are musicians promoting Satan"? Is that suppose to be cool? How come it's not cool to rap about Jesus or talk about peace? How come that isn't cool?

Well....It's called ART

I work in the arts. And, I hate his music. But, I never disregard a catharsis held by any other person. Artistic feelings are the most human, the most beautiful part of what we are. I haven't listened to pop music in 20 years, but that is not my style.

You say he believes in Satan, I cannot say either way. I've never listened to his lyrics. But, there are people who rap about Jesus - I've had them on my stage. Personally, I don't think either Jesus or Satan exist, so I'm probably not a good source.

The same has been said about dozens of artists for a long time. At first, rock & roll was evil and about Satan, then Motown, then Alice Cooper & Black Sabbath, then Motley Crew, then Madonna, then Marilyn Manson...on and on. It is really about the music industry tapping into the nonconformists, the individualists, not the sheep - kind of like the Ron Paul movement.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Well Honestly

I don't care what they do. It is offending to me but should they stop? Nope, they have every right to do what they want. Will I support it? Nope. I'm religious but I still listen to people who are Atheists. If you consider putting women in cages, wearing horns on your head putting blood all over your body Art than geez man.... That's not creativity.

I work in music. I engineer and even make music myself. Lil Wayne has no talent. Their is a lot of rap music out there un-noticed that is very good.

The flag represents different

The flag represents different things to different people. I know one person who sees the flag as a representation of an institution that literally enslaved his grandmother.

Many wave the flag of a false idol.

My Congressman voted for the flag idolization act.

The US Congress has almost never followed the Constitution.

They promote of killing, false witnesses, theft, coveting Syria's loot and flag idolatry and show a blatant disregard of Mosaic Law, also.

For, 142 years Congress has legislated bills that distressed the general welfare.

Only liberty is in the general welfare. Liberty is not legislated it is permitted and protected.
