Former Miss America (running for congress) Called 'Street Walker' by GOP Leader

A former Miss America winner who is now a GOP candidate for Congress was called a string of profane names today, including "street walker," "love child" and "Miss Queen. " Her attacker? A local Republican Party chairman in central Illinois.

Sounds good, except for...

Agriculture

Someone quoted her position this way:

Ensure that farmers have safeguards operating their farms in an economically viable manner, I will be a strong proponent of a robust crop insurance program. Oppose... burdensome regulations... Sustainable and renewable energy sources... bio-fuels...

But that last bit fully reads:

"Additionally, I will oppose the passage and implementation of burdensome regulations that undermine the agricultural industry and unnecessarily increase production costs. Recognizing the increasing global demand for sustainable and renewable energy sources, I also will support biofuels as a tool for addressing those demands."

Which sounds like a endorsement of corn-based subsidized biofuel to me. And when she says she
doesn't want to add burdensome regulations to the "agricultural industry" is she talking about
farmers or Monsanto or what?

If I was in her district I'd probably vote for her, but want to know a lot more before
I'd be out promoting her as the next Justin Amash or something...

Is there a bigger picture?

Maybe I've become overly cynical and suspicious of political situations.

His comments were apparently written in response to this article on this site:
http://republicannewswatch.com/wp/?p=12704

and sent to that site.

Could he have possibly been unaware that they would publish them? Could he really have been unaware that it would be considered offensive coming from a party chairman, of all people?

This seems an attempt by the Republican Party to show a "no tolerance" policy toward racial bias, in an effort to attract the black community. Either they are capitalizing on a meltdown of one of their members (of course they would), or it's a bit deeper.

It could be a way to transfer leadership in that area. Who becomes the next Montgomery County chairman?

I'm probably just overly suspicious, and the guy just melted down. That much hate has got to burn inside. ;)

Most of her positions sound

A number of her positions sound quite Libertarian and I'm aware of Ron Paul Republican converts in that area, despite the sour residue of Chicago "machine" politics.

Who shall laugh? Who shall cry? A note of sarcasm?

The profanity is inexcusable, granted, however downstate Illinois is being deluged with politicians bought and paid for by the Chicago Democratic machine, politicians running as both Democrats and Republicans. That's right, the Chicago Democrats are acting to funnel money to downstate Republicans that they know they will subsequently be able to control. This is the reason for the anger. Illinois is a huge state, but one country out of 102 controls the outcome of virtually every election and decision made in the statehouse. Not only is this unfair, it is building a political blow backpack that is likely to tear the state apart, at this point, will hopefully tear the state apart.
