Macklamore is amazingly

Macklamore is amazingly talented and is helping push the movement of 'underground' conscious hip hop artists. These guys are poets that talk about social issues, the betrayal of this generation by our parents and inherently corrupt social structure we are being forced into. Other great artists like this are Atmosphere, Blue Scholars, Sweatshop Union, Brother Ali, Aesop Rock, Windchill, Cunning Linguists and FlowBots to name a few.

If you have some time, check them out on YouTube. It will give you hope that the younger generation is seeking a new reality and is not totally lost to the mindless mainstream media brainwashing that has become so pervasive in our lives.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

Using stereotypes to protest stereotyping...

My kids love this song (actually, so do I --- It's good) however, I pointed this out to them by noting a few wonderful (nonhating, peaceful) people in our lives who don't believe gay marriage should be legal. By painting all anti-gay marriage people as hateful, the artist is just using stereotypes to protest stereotyping...my two cents

The ultimate hate is killing of innocents which we fund every day while we debate this very small issue in the grand scheme of things...

how is this about stereotypes??

its about love and equality!

its not ABOUT stereotypes...

He uses the stereotype that all people against gay marriage are haters and right wing conservative types

Bump

Thought it was worth a bump.

"Still fear what we dont know"

I hate Macklemore. Sure it

I hate Macklemore. Sure it sounds nice, but he's a total statist.

Yes because his other songs

Yes because his other songs that talk about building a sense of community and humanity through music and denouncing Seattle's decision to shut down the Hip Hop scene through corrupt legislation and supporting decriminalizing Cannabis are all Statist philosophies.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

how is he a "statist"?? lol

Love this song, I was going

Love this song, I was going to post this a while ago.

When I first head this i didnt know what the song was about but it instantly hit me when i heard the line "America the brave, but still fear what we don't know" Its so true and sad, because this goes for all people everywhere! It is that fear they use to manipulate and control us.

The Only thing to fear, is fear itself.

yeah its brilliant!
