"If Edward Snowden Is A Patriot Committing Civil Disobedience Why Not Come Home And Face the Music?"

This is what ALL the corrupt, fearful, ignorant and criminal elements are saying.

Answer: Because America is not a safe Rule-Of-Law Country anymore!

Snowden doesn't have a billion dollars to hire 50 liyers er I mean lawyers to tap dance around D.C. and he doesn't look like the type of guy who could withstand SWAT dropping by to serve an arrest warrant!

USA is the empire of lies

All this focus on Snowden proves that even more. USA must have a lot of secrets they don't want unveiled seeing how minor this leak was in regard to national security. However it might end up big if US govt and its media keep making a fool of themselves to the rest of the world.

How fortunate I am...

To have a man named Edward Snowden living at the pinnacle in time where a strain of tyranny never before imagined is arising from the incubator of the sickest minds the world has ever known.

And this man named Edward has the unique blend of personal integrity, uncommon scientific mastery and a gentle but noble spirit.

How fortunate I am that he has chosen to sacrifice everything he loves for the sake of many.

That one day I may live to see a world where mankind does not make a full-time venture of mutual aggression in all manner of endeavors.

How fortunate I am...

Bradley Manning.

Bradley Manning.

cause

he will end up just like Bradley Manning, silenced, thrown in jail, and treated like a terrorist.

Snowden is going to up the

Snowden is going to up the anti soon. By now he's learned the corrupt corporate MSM is a major enemy factor along with the corrupt MIC. No more Mr nice guy. The only way to deal with these evil people is to threaten them where it will really hurt. The insurance files are being put in place. If they try to harm a hair on that young mans head and a presidential pardon is not forthcoming, well, the whole Valerie Plame outing will seem like a mosquito bite.

Don't worry. No civilians will be harmed by these actions.

What music will he hear locked in the WH dungeon?

Free includes debt-free!

The drums of Kenya!

The only music they will be playing in this corrupt system....

agree. We have one person we know who is in prison. And it's on false charges, false sentence--

and the key got thrown away. There is more injustice here now than justice--

That's sample size one, and that's not much, but that's 'telling' enough--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

3 cruel, inhuman and degrading years in prison before the trial?

Much of it in solitary confinement.

The government has totally gone over to the dark side.

Agreed. The federal

Agreed. The federal government is regularly making me ashamed to be a citizen of this country. My state government (I live in New Hampshire) is pretty decent. Not perfect of course, but generally reasonable. I have much the same view of my local town government.

But the federal government is another matter entirely. We are now very close to a police state.

And become like some of those detained at Gitmo

for over a decade without a trial?

If he returns to the US, what he faces will not be melodious.

That door closed if it's true he leaked info US spying on China

He *might* have had a chance with just exposing NSA spying on Americans, as that all came out 7 years ago.

But if reports are true that he confirmed US spying on China, then he'd be screwed. That's probably why they're frothing at the mouth. Not sure if those reports are true, btw.

What makes you think that China

needed Edward Snowdon to tell them the US was spying on them?
Do you think your Government will fall into chaos when the Chinese equivalent "leaks" that China is spying on America.
These two countries have spied on each other for as long as they have been around, and to make it interesting they send out lots and lots of red herrings.....one of them is called Edward Snowdon.

Ideally a civil trial

should distill the ethical issue of surveillance concerning principled agency, although the US federal government has repeatedly demonstrated malefaction (ie. Private Manning, Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib etc) while the defense has filed a 'sealed' complaint that should not be justly permitted

People who ask this question are thinking of the old America

That is when you knew you could get your own lawyer, a public trial with a real judge and a jury of your peers, and a right to question your accusers. Now that the government disregards the rule of law and claims the power to ship you off to gitmo indefinitely with only a kangaroo court trial (or not) those quaint ideas no longer apply.

Used to be, when the FEDS came by to arrest you the best option was to go along with them and let your lawyer sort it all out. The FEDS have chosen to change all that. Like the scripture says, even as a man sows, so he shall reap.

Localism is for people who can still sleep at night even though somebody they don't know in a city they have never been is doing things differently. ("Localism, A Philosophy of Government" on Amazon for Kindle or Barnes and Noble ebook websites)

I like the George C. Scott movie version better:

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

I also like Scott's voice better.

Because they'll do to them what they did to Sonny Bono.
