Has anyone read the eBay agreement lately?

I had to agree to the latest eBay agreement. I found some parts of this section interesting.

they have to say that to stay legal

Don't knock on ebay, they are the last great bastion fighting against the internet sales tax.

Ebay is just trying to comply with US export laws

and protect themselves from being held accountable if someone gets an export controlled technology or item and sells it somewhere that the US gov't doesn't want it to be sold.

This could actually be a good

This could actually be a good thing. Most Americans that are on a list have no idea. This way you can bring up a lawsuite demanding the gov to tell you what list you are on or it is interferring with Interstate Commerce.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

They are public

"to anyone on the US Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or on the US Commerce Department's Denied Party or Entity List; and (c) to any prohibited country, person, end-user or entity specified by US Export Laws."

These specific lists are public, you can download them.

Do you have a link?

Do you have a link?

Just google

They really should be publishing it as XML, JSON, or at least CSV to make it easier to use. As it is it's just sadistic punishment for anyone trying to comply with these laws/regulations.

I found the other one as well. It's also in an unparsable format without any useful metadata. Just Google for it.

twats setting precedent to

twats setting precedent to the whims of a growing tyranny, i though ebay was there to provide a service, the service, and nothing BUT, the service....so now we have an option here, well actually, no, no we dont.....we want your service, if someones integrated their business with you, but dont feel like DIRECTLY participating in the embargo, BETWEEN THE NATIONS OF THE PEOPLE.....well then, i guess those folks are just....shit out of luck.........or just stop using the service, which effectively is depriving from someone equal resources, ......BRILLIANT mantra there fellas.....MARVELOUS......

Incase im being to nice........Vexing

And what's more

How do I determine whether my name is on a secret list, so that I can ban myself from using eBay's services?

This is worth laughing at. Long and hard, like Charles DeMar at that dance. (Curtis Armstrong was the actor; the movie was "Better Off Dead".)

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Interesting.

Trying to limit some sort of liability? I wonder what e-bay is trying to accomplish by this.
