Another Level Of UnbelievableSubmitted by bierdegarde on Tue, 06/25/2013 - 10:26
I'm willing to take a risk here b/c several posts I have made fail to gain traction, lowering my recent reception rating.
The Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup for the second time in the last 4 years in unbelievable fashion.
Behind 2-1 with 2 minutes to go they scored 2 goals in a 17 second span to seal the deal.
Not only did the Hawks have to take on the Boston (strong) team, but they had to deal with the Media bringing up the Boston Bombing as if it would be justified for Boston to win.
Just so you know, the Hawks broke the record by going the first 24 games without a loss (in regulation time), making them a target for every other team in the league.
They go on to win the Presidents Trophy for most wins in the league.
Then they have to play the Los Angeles Kings (last years Cup winner) and take them out in 5 games.
Next, overcoming a 3-1 series deficit to win 3 in a row against the Detroit Redwings.
Finally, after being down 2-1 in the series with the media basically writing them off, they come back to win 3 in a row again.
The Hawks Marion Hossa played games 4-5-6 with a pinched nerve causing one of his feet to go numb. Bostons Patrice Bergeron played game 6 with a broken rib and torn cartilage.
Thousands of people lined the streets last night and no one was shot (in Chicago). An example of how people can assemble shoulder to shoulder for a cause without harm being done.
