Rand Paul F*cked us all on the Immigration bill

Rand Paul f%cked us all on the immigration bill. The original Senate immigration bill is already enough to make anyone concerned about privacy and civil liberties vomit. It would create a massive federal database administered by the Department of Homeland Security containing names, ages, Social Security numbers and photographs of everyone in the country with a driver’s license or other state-issued photo ID. It would mandate all employers to look up every new hire in the database and verify that they match their photo. It therefore sets the precedent that you need permission from the government to work, and your activities can be restricted by failing to appear in the database.

As the heir to Ron Paul’s political machine, Rand is supposed to be the staunchest defender of our civil liberties in the U.S. Senate, but as the immigration bill was debated and amended, all we heard from him on the subject was concerning border “SECURITY”

Rand Paul could have, and should have, spoken out against the bill on civil liberties grounds. His father did, and if Rand had stood for liberty just like Ron, he could have peeled off support for the bill from Democrats trying to cover their civil libertarian flank.

Rand Paul could have, and should have, spoken out against the bill on fiscal grounds. The bill spends $46 billion dollars on border security and is packed with special interest giveaways like a youth jobs program and a waiver for Alaska fishing workers. And if he opposed the spending in the bill, the entire Tea Party wing of the GOP, which he now basically leads, would have stood right beside him.

Establishment Republicans would have opposed the bill anyway for lack of border security and the immigration bill would have died long ago.

But since Rand Paul decided to focus on SECURITY, trying to appeal to xenophobic, old, white conservatives as he campaigns for 2016, there was NOBODY in the conversation calling for LIBERTY. And with the one person in the Senate who was supposed to be the voice of liberty, calling instead for security, what we got was a loss of our liberty in the name of security.

We got the Corker-Hoeven amendment to the immigration bill that calls for 20,000 more border patrol agents, 700 miles of border fencing, surveillance drones, and infrared sensors. Lindsey Graham praised it for creating “an almost militarized border”. This amendment bought off 15 senate Republicans with a giveaway to the Military-Industrial complex. Democrats are still marching in lockstep behind it because they don’t give a shit about civil liberties. Police statists in the GOP get everything they wanted, and it now has enough votes to pass the Senate, with a good chance in the House as well.

On immigration, Rand Paul committed the cardinal sin that Ben Franklin warned us about. He surrendered liberty for security.

Yea dance the dance say what they want to hear.

That what most tea party candidates do. They dance the dance and say what that Nazi Republican Party tells them what to say. Wile our constitution get shredded and debt skyrocket out of control all in the name to keep us safe from them evil brown people.

What sad is the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party are selling out too. The only true party i see staying to there principles is the green party. The sad thing is they are true communist. Anarchy looks better every day

I just watch John Boehner and get the same show

I'm guessing he and Lindsey Graham are also secretly libertarians based on their votes.

lol u are cute

rand has a plan man

I take my comment back.

Rand's Not Voting For Amnesty

Paul told Breitbart News he supports immigration reform but cannot bring himself to vote for this bill because to him it does not mean real immigration reform.

Paul said that when Republican senators pushing the legislation admitted that they were not attempting to make legalization of illegal immigrants contingent upon real border security, he knew the efforts were not seriously to solve the problem.

“I think the turning point for me was when the Gang of Eight Republicans began to say that legalization of the undocumented workers here would not be dependent on border security,” Paul said. “That’s really the opposite of what I’ve been saying and the opposite of what conservatives have been saying. Really, immigration reform should absolutely be dependent upon border security and, really, border security first."

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Yep, this bill is NOT about immigration ...

... it is about building a national database. Either Rand did not bother reading it, did not understand what it was about, or sold out (if he votes for final bill).

Imagine that

I guess he needs new lawn service

with 29 fligginpadillion flooding in they'll be plenty of competition

I cut grass 25 cents

I lived in a Bordertown

When people double their standard of living by getting on welfare they lose interest in doing hard work.

He's not going to get any "Lawn Service"

Wait. You and I might though. Somebody has to pay for all that stuff in the bill.

Rand Mitt Romney for President Paul doing his thing, namely being a politician. If you expected anything different you were deluded. If you haven't figured out by now that Rand is a political climber first and a principled statesman last, you probably never will. Prepare to continue to be disappointed.

100% correct.

Going along to get along...

Going along to get along...

Going along to get along...

The border and guards are probably more about keeping ..

people in than out as Ron Paul noted before....There will be capital controls and people controls when the currency collapses.

Anyways Rand is political and will pick and choose his battles and his one vote probably wouldn't have made a difference.

9-11 Media Fakery: Did anyone die on 9-11?

9-11 Actors:

Pysops.. media.. actors.. propagandists... disinfo agents.. fake videos.. fake photos

Swings and round abouts.

Immigration might be important to you, but Rand may have bigger fish to fry. Maybe it's not his top, top priority right now.

This Bill addresses a lot more than immigration

That was the whole point of the OP's post. Did you even read it?

The OP is absolutely right. Great post.

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

...and the Snowden incident

addresses much more than a "whistle blower"...war is fast looming with Syria? How could someone who loved America soooo much to warn her citizens that the government spies on them, then turn and run to Russia to cause a diplomatic spat with Syria's closest friend? Think about it.
Home troubles can be re-jigged later. International war takes much longer to stop.
And stop WHINGING every time Rand does something YOU don't like.
Half of something is a damn lot better than all of nothing!

If truth and awareness is not his top priority

He will lose the Ron Paul political machine. Maybe that's what he wants. It really doesn't matter. Voting is rigged. There are much better ways to make tangible gains toward liberty than politics. Clearly the facts prove that politics has a 100% failure rate in protecting liberty. What's that about doing the same thing over and over expecting different results?

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

I think you are overly sore on this.

The mess that is immigration, is small compered to other messes going on at the moment. Impeding (deeply, deeply unpopular)war with Syria, deteriorating "Global relationships", along with whistle blowing and international blundering.
Immigration can be put on the back burner for a while.
If the rest of the crap going on at the moment isn't dealt to first, the resulting mess will make immigration a non issue.

Rand never had the Ron Paul supporters

What Ron Paul Political Machine? JEssie Benton? You got to be kidding. Armchair quarterbacks rooting for one fool over the other as if they control the game.

You just want to lick the boot of the son of Ron. It dont matter how slimy he is.

You have mistaken me

I do not support any politicians. I do not vote. I did help get the word out about Ron for exposure to his ideas but I do not vote because I do not want to make the fraud of voting appear to be real.

The political machine I refer to is the millions of like minded people who put real time and effort into helping raise awareness about Ron's wisdom but who never supported any other candidate before or since. I met many of these people and they were not armchair quarterbacks and most of them had no delusions about any possibilities of electoral success but many did take it to the man in many ways and have changed the national dialogue as a result.

The vast majority in this country are the people who don't vote because they are fed up with the whole criminal situation. Many of these are Ron Paul supporters.

So I think you attacked the wrong guy here. I agree with your sentiments with the exception of me licking anyone's boot.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

My most humble appology

I do get carryed away sometimes. The part obout licking boots was over the top. If I may retract. Thank you for the clarifications.

Good that others see... I also participate to a degree in the electons knowing that they are fraud. I have been a delegate up to county level as well for many many years. Live in Ron Paul's old district, 14th TX, he was my congressman for alot of years. I love to see the sold out slimy money grubbers that usually are flocking around the crooked elections. I love to talk to them and let them know I am here.

his top priority to being

his top priority to being middle of the road enough to be President.

rand didn't want to vote yes

he was hoping the Senate would leave out border security, good excuse.

He shoud have just plain said no to amnesty, no to screwing Americans on privacy.
