Bottled-water purchase leads to night in jail for U.Va. student

When a half-dozen men and a woman in street clothes closed in on University of Virginia student Elizabeth Daly, 20, she and two roommates panicked. That led to Daly spending a night and an afternoon in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. Her initial offense? Walking to her car with bottled water, cookie dough and ice cream just purchased from the Harris Teeter in the Barracks Road Shopping Center for a sorority benefit fundraiser.

Wow, unbelievable and in my home state! This lady ran for her life and they still put her in jail. How are you supposed to know a dozen plain clothed people aren't trying to rape you?

Yet another example of over-the-top police work that hurts try police work and demotes liberty. The apology due will never happen.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

I wonder what the Founder of the University of Virginia

would have thought of a student receiving such treatment from the police.

Anti Jefferson

I used to do some contract work in C-ville/UVA and it was Thomas Jefferson this and Thomas Jefferson that. They sure like to invoke his name when it works for them but they are very much against his ideas about liberty.

Yep, they were bored. The one

Yep, they were bored. The one thing I have seen in my state is the fact that the police will look for things to do if they get bored.
I remember one girl on the way to a college class I was in got pulled over for a broken tail light. Two more police officers showed up just because they felt like it, all for a broken tail light. She only got off with a warning though.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Yeah they do.

I saw a police officer at a corner who looked like he was trying to turn into traffic. I waved him in and he didn't go so I went and he got behind me and pulled me over. He gave me a ticket for an inspection sticker that was 15 days past due. Kind of a dick move if you ask me.

Was she hot?

Might explain some of it.....

Actually yes. hahaha I hadnt

Actually yes. hahaha
I hadnt actually thought of that before. She, ..almost.., could have been a model. Was pretty good looking with large hips and a small waist.
