We can raise 20 million in one day by by holding a contest to see which meetup group could raise the most amount on February 3. This type of contest would reunite our currently decentralized forces of 100,000 meetup members. Looking back at history, the MLK bomb failed because there was not enough enthusiasm and hype surrounding it (marketing 101). There were no expectations or targets to beat, but rather a measly $10 donation.
This idea has loads of enthusiasm and more importantly expectations. We will surely break the world record once again and possibly propel ron paul to win the super tuesday if your guys make it happen. Does this sound unrealistic? Remember this: Most candidates are going broke and huckabee can't even afford to fund his staff. And funding got us 2nd in nevada. We need cash. This money bomb of epic proportions would give ron paul the so called "unrealistic" $23 million he requested. It would shock the world. We would need the coordination of every meetup group in every city and every town in America, But i'm sure we could make it happen. We just need to act fast and make it happen. Are you with me? If you support this contact your local meetup groups and help make a website. We could have little bars for pledges for every meetup group haha.
UPDATE: Since there is already a $500 tax bomb on February 3, we could make this event coincide on that date. A separate web site would be preferred if possible. Please discuss your ideas in the comments.

There are conversations that are going on right now to see if this can become a reality in a short period of time. Seems like some really committed people are interested. Hopefully, some timelines come from tonight's discussion.
What the strategy entails is empowering the Meetup members by showing them their participation. Several factors including the % of meetup participation and the number of new recruits to the Meetup base may determine the success of this idea.

...a money bomb on 'Tax Freedom Day'. That's the day of the year the Taxpayers Union calculates the average person has to work until (from Jan. 1) to pay his/her taxes.
The bad news is, that day keeps getting later and later in the year. This year I believe it's in May.
The good news is, Dr. Paul will surely still be in the thick of of the race on that day!!!

I'm concerned...
Feb 3rd although I understand the reason for the selection of that date isn't a good choice for donating tax refunds.
Most people don't have their refund and would have to dip in personal funds to make it happen and count on the refund coming later. Take that into consideration with us just having one last week and I'm afraid it won't turn out well.
I'm not saying it won't, but if we are shooting for 23 million and end up with 100k we will look like fools but some money is better than none.
I feel like since the first 2 big money bombs everyone and their brother is trying to do one which isn't bad necessarily but I'd like to see us plan a date down the road, organize it well, and have people save money for it and donate it all in one lump sum.

Is a nice date a little further down the road. The libertytax08 is already set up and playing out. Ron Paul requested $23 Million BEFORE Feb 5th and I think that is why the date was accelerated. I made a $500 pledge and will do my best to deliver. I encourage everyone to spread the word and donate what you can on Feb 3rd.
In the meantime, we would have to contact ronpaulmoneybomb.com and tell them of the idea. Actually, I think that there is a nation wide strike planned for April 15th. ALL RP supporters are urged to strike from / call in to work in protest of income tax. Use the day off to canvass and GOTV. This needs to go viral. There is a video on youtube.

There is no way we will be ignored for dropping this amount of cash. This must happen to ensure enthusiasm and hope going into super Tuesday. I just signed up!! Lets not look back years from now and wish we had spent $500 dollars for freedom. Its only money people, you can always earn more...assuming our country isn't bankrupt.
