Largest Straw Purchase of Guns in History; Uninvestigated, Phoenix Mayor, Council & Police All Complicit

Someone anonymously provided $200,000, to buy 2,000 guns in Phoenix, AZ in May 2013, using $100 grocery gift cards as the money.

If it was billionaire mayor Michael Bloomberg as the well-founded rumors suggest, he would have had to do it anonymously, and wash the money pretty good, because it’s illegal to buy guns like that across state lines. Buying 2,000 guns that way would be 2,000 federal and state felonies.

Giving money to someone else to buy guns for you — knowing you can’t buy them yourself – would be a “straw purchase,” something mayor Bloomberg knows is strictly illegal, since he has been fighting against straw buyers publicly for a long time. We don’t know who put up the cash and he sure isn’t saying. The crime doesn’t require that the true buyer ultimately receive the guns, just that the money moves through a knowing straw man (or woman).

Go up a level: does the Constitution discuss "straw purchases"?

I'm not sure this is even worth getting up in arms about. So to speak.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Wait----they actually did this?

Recently AZ passed a law that all state funds used in gun buybacks would require that these same guns be resold to the public. So this thing goes a step further. Were these private or public funds? And were agents of the state ever in posession of these fund OR the resultingly acquired property?

If private, the straw-purchase law is very much at issue no matter how many hands the money was passed through. The parties had a specific intent to puchase guns through a strawman in state. Precisely the type of sale the law was designed to prevent and incidentally the precise type of crime the BATFE commits and then pretends to be preventing.

Either way it seems somebody is in legal jepoardy.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

No wonder

Richard Corkery (convicted of child pornography and bail violations) and Gary Becker (convicted of attempted child molestation and luring a child for illicit purposes) are against guns. If they molest a child, they're at risk of having someone blow their brains out.

Bloomberg is an idiot.
