Ben Swann - Why I Left Fox19Submitted by John23 on Mon, 07/01/2013 - 18:57
I have been asked by a number of people, why risk a steady paycheck, a good job and a career that is doing so well for the " Truth in Media" project?
Our campaign on KickStarter is a risk but one that I am not afraid to take on. T.S. Eliot once said: "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."
Not that I am putting myself in the same category as these figures, but consider this:
- What would our world look like if Martin Luther King never took a risk?
- What if our founding fathers backed away from the risk that resulted in the freedoms we currently have?
- The Wright Brothers certainly took a risk.
- So did Rosa Parks, in one moment of strength.
How about you?
Any effort that changed the course of history required risk and often required countless others to do the same. We all want honest media, including me. That is why I am taking the risk.
I ask you to join us by making a pledge today. No pledge is too big or small, your risk in this project to restore truth in media is entirely up to you. If you do, let us know by posting on the Full Disclosure Facebook page so a team member can personally thank you for standing with us. Mark Twain once wrote:
“In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”
