I Have No Sympathy For The StrongSubmitted by Chris Cheesecurdski on Tue, 07/02/2013 - 03:16
Sympathy means to feel for someone weaker than oneself even if you've never been there yourself. That's great. But how does one feel...
On the virtue of sympathy:
Well, hey, I've been at the top before too. Did I look down to those below me and try to help them compete with me at my level? Yes I did. Because by bringing these lesser people up to my level I was forced to up my own game. And up it I did. To the point where I got bored and moved on to a new game. But only by helping out the help.
“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.”
- George Washington Carver
