VIDEO: Police Shoot Dog Defending Owner As Cop Arrested Him - For Filming Them (Warning: GRAPHIC!)

Ashley Collman | Daily Mail | July 2, 2013

A video posted yesterday on YouTube shows the grisly shooting of a dog by a police officer in Hawthorne, California.

The 130-pound, 3-year-old Rottweiler named Max was shot to death after he escaped through a window in a parked car and ran over to his master, Leon Rosby, who was being arrested for filming the scene on his phone.

The video shows Rosby, 52, walking his dog Sunday around 7 p.m. near a house with several police squad cars parked outside.

You point is so valid

the officers knew he had the dog - he had been walking around with it. The guy clearly was not a danger - so why not just go talk to him - have him secure the dog etc. etc.

But this is the point - this is the problem with LEO's these days - this is what people need to see. It is not about doing the right thing 0 it is about force and power - subverting the citizen until they willfully obey.

Bingo!

You nailed it quite nicely.

I cannot believe

that anyone would condone this behavior. These cops are nothing but thugs!! If they can kill animals with so little emotion then it would be nothing to shoot another human being. If it was my dog they would not be walking around for very long.

"Next up; grieving dog owner shoots, kills police, claims

temporary insanity."

Want this to stop? That should do it.

that would be justice!

I've never understood how ANY 'grown' ass man could ever

be afraid of dogs!

Rabies? sure, but frankly, I've NEVER come across an aggressive dog that I couldn't dissuade with a minor 'claw' grip to the stomach, or a slight kick to the side of the stomach, or if truly truly aggressive a strong assertive punch to the jaw/mandible joint.

Now, even if you are an armed, lowest common denominator-semi-annual-qual-'trained' cop, you should be able to fend off a dog, with no problems!

Hell, if you're a cop who's knowingly approaching a situation where a sizable dog is present, that IS when they SHOULD have a taser handy and out of the holster for quick deployment, if not a mace.

But, to routinely murder dogs, as they're doing all too regularly now, is absolutely inexcusable!

While I've personally never had strong attachment to dogs (even though I am a 'dog-person') like many do, still I can 100% understand and appreciate how even the 'meanest' humans love their dogs, as companions, a pack member, and a family member.

To take that link to another breathing creature away, not by you, but by a stranger, a state thug at that, is unconscionable, and SHOULD NEVER be allowed, unless that dog is literally about to maul the state-actor, or anyone else for that matter.

Better believe if you shoot a free man's dog, they're gonna react as if that State thug just murdered their family member.

Pathetically, as always, they're hypocrites: if one of their K9 units were ever to be harmed in ANY way, they act like a bunch of sensitive pussies, or worse, act as if their daughter has been raped.

And worse, the expensive taxpayer-paid-for-drama-indulgence: if one of their K9 is 'killed in the line of duty,' they actually have the gall to expect the citizenry to feel compelled to provide a royal funeral for it, with all the pomp and circumstances afforded a member of the Medici Dynasty!

Seriously, whenTF will the people say "Enough is Enough!" ?????

How does any sentient, politically savvy American not sense a boiling point just over the horizon?

Frankly, seeing as how twisted and upside down the world is, I'd venture to guess that the likelihood of an aberrant state actor murdering an innocent man's dog to spark something disastrous into something even worse, MUCH MORE than if one of their HUMAN family members were to meet the same fate as their dogs, at the hands of a State-actor.

Sad commentary on the state of the world. But frankly, would anyone be surprised, if that actually were to play out??

They really are pushing and pushing, just to see how far they can get away with it, before the entire system collapses...

But, even the state thugs at low to mid management must viscerally sense that at their current behavioral trajectory, it won't be too long before when even the most gullible of statist sheeple won't trust the govt or their propaganda anymore.

So, the question is: do these state-actors really really want to see that happen?

One truly has to wonder, if being sadomasochistic isn't a prerequisite in becoming a State-employee...

Predictions in due Time...

I dont blame the cop for shooting the dog

If I were manhandling the owner of a rotweiler, german shepard, pitbull or a couple other breeds I would expect a dogbite. So shooting the dog was probably necessary although I stopped watching before the shot took place so I dont know how it went down in the last seconds.
What I do blame the cop for is arresting the guy. The cop just wanted some form of compliance from the guy and he would have gotten that by talking with the guy. He wasnt doing anything illegal except possibly disturbing the peace with his car (which would piss me off as a neighbor, if I thought it was disturbing the ongoing police work).

Watch it... My mouth was open

Watch it... My mouth was open and my stomach sick...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Three questions

Why was there an armored personnel carrier there?
Why were these cops carrying what Feinstein coined as weapons of war?
Why is filming an on duty police officer a crime?

all I can say is...

what has this country become.....?.....even though I think the man was irresponsible for being a spectator and putting himself and his dog at risk...

And The Munchkins sang, "Ding dong the Mutt is dead"

According to the Bible, if an owner knowingly has a dangerous animal and He does not confine that animal and it harms someone, the animal is to be put to death and the owner is to be held responsible for any damage that is done to that person. And if that animal were to kill someone, the owner would get the death penalty. Why? Because God holds human life more valuable then a stinken rottweiler. The police officers did not attack that dog, that dog attacked them. That's why the bystanders yelled at the officers to watch out for the dog heading towards them. But evidently there are some people on this board that must believe dangerous animals have constitutional rights, and people don't have the right to bear firearms to protect themselves. As a person who has been attacked twice by dangerous dogs whom their owners did not secure, I wish to thank the officers for protecting the public and their fellow human beings, which includes "police officers", from this animal. One less dangerous mutt that I and others have to deal with. According to the Bible's standard, the owner should be charged with attacking a police officer, just as if he had done it himself. Don't like it? Argue with God not me. That's His standard.

Your post is 100% bullshit

There is nothing like that mentioned in the Bible. If there were, all the zealots on the DP would've quoted it 8 million times already like they do with every other part of the Bible.

Also, which version of the Bible? there are many, MANY different versions of it. Lemme guess, your version is the 'real' version, because God wrote that version. It even says so in the book itself! /rolleyes

Finally, judging by the title of your post, it seems you're happy that a life was needlessly taken, yet you make a poor attempt at trying to use the Bible to justify it. Using the Bible to justify pointless murder? Gee, whoda thunkit!?

/facepalm

WRONG!!!

You said "According to the Bible, if an owner knowingly has a dangerous animal and He does not confine that animal and it harms someone, the animal is to be put to death and the owner is to be held responsible for any damage that is done to that person. And if that animal were to kill someone, the owner would get the death penalty."

The bible truth is: if an owner has an animal that has attacked a person previously, and the owner is aware of it and has not kept the animal in and the animal kills a man or woman, the animal and the owner shall be killed.

Do you have any proof this dog "Max" has previously attacked somebody? And don't stereotype the breed of dog, that is not what is meant in the scripture. Moreover, since you like to throw scripture around:

Exodus 22:4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Greater love has no one than this

Jesus said "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friend." John 15:13
The police officer was protecting his fellow friends as well as himself from being attacked, so are you telling me that Jesus would rebuke this man for laying his life on the line to protect others? I don't think so.

Proverbs 12:10 and Exodus 22:4 does not relate to an animal attacking its owner or someone else.

Liar

The Bible says nothing of that. Police Officers didn't even exist when the Bible was written.

The police should have made sure the dog was secured. It's there fault. The man did nothing wrong. He shouldn't even have been getting arrested in the first place.

Plus the dogs reaction is defending his owner. God would never side with a police officer in this situation.

Ding Dong the wicked Mutt is dead!

Blow the dust off your Bible, if you own one, and turn to Exodus 21:29. God's Word, not mine.

Low life.. what are you even

Low life.. what are you even doing on this website you piece of you know what...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

The city of PooPoo

The Egyptians built a city called Crocodilopolis because they worshiped the crocodile as a God. America should build a city called PooPoo-opolis because an awful lot of Americans hold their mutts in more regards then they do their fellow human beings. Our country has allowed the slaughter of over 50 million unborn babies and they don't call it murder. But you kill a stinken flea bitten mutt attacking someone then the liberal-terriers come out of the woodwork and cry bloody murder. Talk about low lifes.

When someone near to you gets

When someone near to you gets hurt, or died, I'm gonna laugh and say the mutt is dead... let's see how you take that i, sir, have an awful day..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

And if you

think that way than i should be able to shoot every single K9 that comes near me. Aren't they training them to attack if I run?

That's a crime though right?

So please be quiet... Your side of the argument sounds stupid.

Ding Dong!

Well if a K9 is trying to take a chomp out of your arm, like this one was trying to take out of the police officer, I guess you would be justified. What did you want the officer to do, pat the mutt on the head and throw him a doggy treat? He didn't shoot the dog until he was attacked. He protected himself along with protecting the other officers.

I only get personal RARELY

I only get personal RARELY and in extreme cases, but go to hell maggot..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

No Dogs in heaven

I was once headed for hell, but since I have put my Faith in Jesus Christ and have been redeemed by His blood it is now impossible for me to go to hell. Sorry to disappoint you. How about you, are you headed for the lake of Fire, the place of eternal torment where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth?
Nice thing about going to heaven, Jesus said in Rev 22:15 that there aren't going to be any vicious dogs there. Amen to that!

More bullshit from you

You 'saved'/born-again folks really crack me up.

"I was saved my Jeebus, so now I can go around wagging my finger at people while acting like a self-righteous asshat with impunity!"

Joining a religious cult and endlessly quoting a book to justify your worldview and imaginary lakes of fire isn't being 'saved', it's being 'brainwashed'.

But I

get the death penalty if I shoot a K9. Same thing should be for him. And he didn't get attacked. Have you ever been bitten by a dog? It's not the end of the world. 3 of those cops could have took that dog down easily with out killing it. It sure seems to me that your the type of guy that gets his heart beating a million times a minute when a confrontation happens. I hope you don't own a weapon. You just might try and shoot a fly if it lands on you.

Death Penalty instituted as punishment for taking life

No, You get the death penalty if you are the owner of the dangerous animal and your dangerous animal kills a human being. And that breed of dog has indeed a history of killing humans. We had one attack in a nearby town a few years ago. The Mutt got out of their fence, and attacked a little girl who was out in her yard next door. The kid died. Don't give me this crap about it not being so bad to be bitten by one. Tell that to the kid's parents.

On such

rare occasions. Like that dog even has rabies. And you compared a kid to 3 grown men. wow.. pal... you are clearly a troll.

Ding Dong your Spin is On

Hey Your just like a politician. You got the classic spin going, like Obama and Clinton. They both believe killing little innocent babies is a constitutional right, but of course if you kill a vicious alligator trying to rip your arm off then we are going to have to charge you with murder because the little mutts are just so much more valuable then humans.

you're*

your = possessive
you're = you are
yore = the olden days

Not hard to figure out.

Funny how you call another person's post 'spin', and then go on to post that world salad of a response.
