2 charged in 'al-Qaeda-inspired' Canada Day plotSubmitted by Canada on Tue, 07/02/2013 - 15:58
RCMP accuses two Surrey, BC residents of attempting to bomb the BC legislature with pressure cooker bombs.
"We will not let suspicion darken our hearts," responds Premier Christy Clark.
The investigation, dubbed Project Souvenir, was launched in February 2013 and co-ordinated by the RCMP-led Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams, which includes investigators from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and Canada Border Services Agency.
One has to wonder if informants were involved and if so, to what extent did they participate. In another notable Canadian terror plot in Ontario it turned out that paid police informants directed the entire thing and provided all the material support.
