The Telegraph: Edward Snowden Says He Risks The Death Penalty As Escape Routes Narrow
Edward Snowden has said he risks the death penalty if he is returned to the United States, as he sends frantic appeals to countries around the world in his quest for refuge.

The fugitive whistleblower told Poland in an asylum request that if forced back to the United States he doubted he would receive a fair trial and could face execution for leaking classified details on surveillance programmes.
"it is unlikely that I would receive a fair trial of proper treatment prior to trial, and face the possibility of life in prison or even death," he said.
