The slaves were never set freeSubmitted by dwalters on Tue, 07/02/2013 - 22:04
The slaves were never set free. They only got a new master. A slave master's primary job is to prevent rebellion. After all, the slave master is only one person whereas the slaves are many. Contrary to popular beliefs, successful slave masters don't beat their slaves. They give them the illusion of being treated well so that they will accept their servitude. The slaves were never set free. Simply, the government became the new slave master.
Dependency is slavery. If people become dependent on another person or entity for their well-being, they are subject to the mercy of that person or entity. Clever slave masters know that all they must do is to threaten to take away some type of benefit, and the slaves will do their bidding. Even better, if slave masters can successfully blame the need to take away the benefits on the party they oppose, the slaves can be used as faithful pawns in the battle against them.
It was not by accident that social welfare was introduced in America. Creating dependency is paramount to controlling slaves. Are you a slave? Has the government been leading you around - holding your hand in order to get you to do its bidding?
The slaves of America were never set free. They only got a new master.
Please share this with the American slaves. Soon may they be set free - but in reality this time.
