Study: EPA-approved GMO insecticide responsible for killing off bees, contaminating entire food chain

Now, a new study out of Purdue University in Indiana has not only confirmed, once again, that clothianidin is killing off bees, but also that clothianidin's toxicity is systemic throughout the entire food chain, which could one day lead to the catastrophic destruction of the food supply.

The study, which was published in the online journal PLoS ONE, investigated the various methods and routes by which a class of insecticides known as neonicotinoids, which includes clothianidin, are harming honey bees. They discovered that both clothianidin and thiamethoxam, another component of neonicotinoid insecticides, persist in "extremely high levels" in planter exhaust material produced during the planting of crops treated with these insecticides, which runs contrary to industry claims that the chemicals biodegrade and are not a threat.

This pesticide is irrelevelant to genetic engineering

And this is a year old.

Why is this posted?

Oh wait I know! To stir the Natural Fallacy hivemind into the daily anti-GMO frenzy!

I posted this because I have less to do with my bees dead

It won't be long before the human population will be suffering like the bees. Look what's in your children's future: http://gmoaction.org/glyphosate-spraying-on-gmo-soy-images

These pictures are peasants in Argentina that can not get away from the spraying of soy beans.

basically a takeover by Monsanto to rid bee pollinated plants for their own patented self pollinated plants.

It's about control of the people to not grow their own food.

wouldn't it just be easier

to make a genetically modified bee

I believe that is what they are after - the ability to get royalties off the pollination process

I really don't think that's it

I think the blaming of Americans companies for declining bee populations is a red-herring.

What makes whales go off their migration, or seals or porpoise beach in mass?

What makes birds fall from the skies?

I think the decline in bee populations in some places are affected by a simular problem.. magnetic sonar waves, HAARP? Climate change from geoengineering?

I think it is things like this rather than American corporations.

I decided to look it up for you

While companies spent millions defeating prop 37 in California, they were running ads claiming gmo's kill everything. Maybe we Americans are just to brain dead already from gmo's to figure it out.

Bug zappers in every bite and

Bug zappers in every bite and generously basted with Round-Up™. Mmmm mmm good.

Checkout some of the advertising by some of the seed companies.

I seen a seed companies ad on the bill board right on the highway, guarantee to kill all bugs that fly over and crawl under their crops. Even the EPA has admitted that the GMO seeds are deadly to even the Bald Eagle.

You might as well try and make the claim ufo's are causing the bee deaths. Hopefully the courts will side with the beekeeper on this issue, guess it all comes to if Monsatan has paid for the Judge in advance.

Corn syrup?

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty" TJ

beekeepers have been feeding

corn syrup for 20+ years. This is disinformation that the chemical companies throw out to keep confusion going. The only thing that has changed in the past 7 years is the insecticide used in treating seed corn and soy beans.
