Outrage Over Highway Body Cavity Search

Two women are suing the Texas DPS after getting body cavity searches during a traffic stop.

"The male officer, his words verbatim were, 'We're gonna get familiar with your womanly parts,'" Brandy Hamilton said.

That officer, Nathaniel Turner, claimed to smell marijuana in Hamilton and Alexandria Randle's car when he pulled them over for speeding on Memorial Day 2012. He called a female trooper to search their genitalia for drugs on the side of Highway 288 in Brazoria County.

"You're going to go up my private parts?" Hamilton said.
Brandy Hamilton and Alexandria Randle have filed a lawsuit against Brazoria County for invasion of privacy after they were searched on the side of a highway on Memorial Day 2012.

"Yes, ma'am," trooper Jennie Bui said matter-of-factly.

The entire stop was recorded on the state troopers' dash camera, including Hamilton's horrified face at the moment of insertion.

"She pretty much forced my legs open because I wouldn't even open my legs," Hamilton said.

We don't need alliances with a system of oppression. To work within that system is to further increase its validity, magnitude, and power.

We need to end this monopolistic/coercive police state. The only solution is a free market solution.

So did you sound that message

So did you sound that message when Dr Paul was working within the system by running for office within the Republican Party? I feel he accomplished much within the system and hold out belief that we can work within the system to restore our Republic. I encourage videos showing atrocities such as this incident being brought to light and I think it's waking up some people who otherwise would have blamed the victim and approved of this crap but soon more and more people are going to realize that they may be next. It helps to get more police officers on board with liberty solutions and to stop fearing their leadership that promote a lack of Constitutional respect. I feel people like you, ecorob and others can be the ones to help bring the average cop around, believe it or not.

Agree with Rafael 111 that it was about the message

It was about the message, and not the messenger.

Looking at that specific messenger, I would say that he has already done more outside of office than he accomplished within. Which is not to say that his time in office was not a huge accomplishment -- it was.

His home-schooling curriculum alone is a greater contribution to society than being Dr. No -- and being so was helpful as people watched the C-SPAN proceedings and became interested, and it snowballed from there.

I love what he's done since. But it was not about Ron Paul the person; it was about the message of liberty, and anyone who can speak it eloquently deserves some assistance in spreading that message.

Edit: agree that we can bring the enforcers around. I recently read "The Most Dangerous Superstition" and I think can change a lot of minds. I gave away my copy and expect to get several more.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

What is the book about?

Sounds good.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.

"Authority" is the most dangerous superstition

Larken Rose wrote it. Highly recommended. One of the key points is that I cannot give someone else the right to do something that I myself do not have the right to do. So for instance I cannot hire someone to steal from, kidnap, or murder someone else. Yet we grant "government" that right (taxation, imprisonment, and capital punishment, respectively).

He puts a lot of words in quotes, which can be somewhat annoying but I really enjoyed it, as a way of constantly reminding the reader that these words are make-believe, at least in their effect.

Another neat analogy is that government is like Santa Claus. We don't have debates about how we can make Christmas more efficient; similarly, debates about making government more efficient are just as silly, because the whole purpose of government is to bloat itself.

Great book, I highly recommend it.

It was always about the message of liberty. Dr. Paul was a great messenger that used the system to educate the public. The system was used by Dr. Paul for pedagogical purposes; not because of any actual hope that things would actually change within government. If even the Pauls claim any success of working within the system- who cares???

Getting so caught up in being consumed and preoccupied with government only further empowers government. This is energy, time, and money that can be best invested in free-market solutions.

Thank you Dr. Paul for being such a great teacher.

Now for us that know better, we must continue promoting alternative business plans to governmental coercion.

Officer, maybe we should start thinking more about plans for competing private security/insurance companies; as well as competing legal systems. To toss any free-market idea aside and favor government is to conform to government and not spouse creativity.

Good Luck!

By FAR...

The BEST COMMENT I have ever read on this Topic. Thank you for your intelligent insight ecorob!!

Yes you are right most cops are bad ethically and stupid psychologically- for not having a conscious; i.e., incapable psychologically and desensitized morally.

Great Question: "any cops out there who want to speak up?" It its irrational not to come to the defense of your profession if it is so dignified. The reason why cops do not, in-mass, come out in defense of their trade is because they intellectually know that they are accomplices of State oppression and that they profit from their gangster racket.

Roadside rape.

Free includes debt-free!

This simply, cannot be tolerated...

Our founders gave us the solution to these criminal Nazi pigs. It's up to us to enforce our natural rights. These cops should be thrown in the pits of the worst prison like every other rapist deserves. Right alongside the guy from Cleveland.
