Big tobacco is coming for e-cigs!

E-Cigs are helping a lot of people stay tobacco free and save money from that slavery racket. Well now the FDA is planning on getting its nose into E-Cigs. Some form of "sin"-tax will likely take place but it very well may kill many small businesses who will not be able to afford whatever license they require if it is even offered to them. Heads up.. big tobacco is at it again.

Why should there be any surprise?

They are in the business of addiction and their addictive substance of choice is nicotine which is also in the e-cigs. Smoking is not addictive, nicotine is. Go roll up just about anything you can think of and smoke it and you will NOT get addicted to it. Add some nicotine and you are almost guaranteed to get addicted. It doesn't matter if it is a regular cigarette or an electronic cigarette it is still nicotine addiction.

E ciggs contain No Tobbacco

Nor do they burn anything,There is no ash emitted and no second hand smoke.I used them to give up smoking 4 1/2 years ago. They are a God send.
They do contain nicotine however but so do tomatoes. Sin Tax on tomatoes next? stay tuned.

The Whole Non Smoking

Campaign was started by Surgeon General C. Everete Koop and it was the first attempt at controlling mass population behavior. The FDA is in cahoots with the tobacco companies. Phillip Morris tried to buy out the company that invented e-cigs when the offer was rejected they asked the FDA to ban it from import to the US which they did. The FDA was taken to court by the, then largest importer and the judge ruled inthe Importer's favor and told the FDA they had no jurisdiction since it was not a tobacco product. Guess they at it again

Smokers

I am quitting cold-turkey right now. Visit my thread: http://www.dailypaul.com/287744/so-its-probably-time-to-quit...

Stop by and quit with me if you would like! My thread is helping me, and I hope it can help you too!

Today will be my 6th day!

Cold turkey is statistically the best way

to quit smoking. The first objective to quit an addiction is to get the addictive substance out of your system. Cold turkey is the best way to do that since nicotine replacement therapy only prolongs the addiction.

Good for you. Did you know that when you quit cold turkey it takes 3 days for your body to rid itself of nicotine. The mental addiction will linger long past the physical addiction. Identify the triggers of cravings as they happen so your brain can reaccustom itself to those things or activities without expecting the nicotine fix that it has become accustomed too.

I believe

that government officials as well as extreme anti tobacco zealots see ecigs as a workaround and they will not have it! They hate the entire smoking culture and the fact that all people won't bow to their wishes. They honestly believe that people who smoke should die and have a deep hatred for the fact that they won't just do what they demand without questioning.

Smokers do as I did 30+ years ago

quit cold turkey and end that part of your slavery. When I quit they were $.75 to a $1.00 per pack, it's insane to be spending $6. to $9. per pack.

You can do it

If you do fail try again.

I quit by smoking 2 cartons in a 4 days, no sleep and returning to work at 3 am to drive truck. I didn't even look at a cig for 3 days after that it was all down hill.

But I wouldn't suggest anyone try this method, I must mention I felt like I was dying for 3 days after.

Just think of the extra silver you could bank.

I understand the sentiment,

I understand the sentiment, but slavery isn't voluntary. You chose to smoke those cigarettes and you chose to quit. Congratulations, but you were a volunteer!

You either do not understand addiction

or you are in denial of the power it holds over you. And since most people, at least that I know, started while they were very young then you cannot a blanket claim that a knowledgeable decision was made to start smoking in the first place. That is why children are the targets of so many drug pushers and why the addiction takes such a strong hold.

I sure felt like a slave to the tobacco companies.

I tried many times but failed. If you checkout how they lace the cigs with extra nicotine you might change your mind.

As I say, I understand your

As I say, I understand your feeling, however you used free will when you decided to smoke and you used the same will to quit (I assume).

Second Hand Vapor

Anyone have any links to studies done on the effects of second hand vapor from these things? If there is a chance for allergic reactions or health hazard then they have essentially invented a stealth-cigarette. People are starting to use these things inside public buildings.

Chances are if big tobacco is behind this then there is something underhanded going on.

The downvotes

Are from all the smokers who don't want to be bothered by people asking questions?
I asked a simple question if there are any studies showing if the vapor could be harmful to health because I am allergic to cigarette smoke - honestly want to know if I am going to have reactions to someone using this product!

Thanks for proving my inquiry is legit, because fear shows where truth needs to be exemplified.

Also explains why big tobacco is interested in these.
The more downvotes the more of a stink you will make (pun intended).

Do you fear the vapor that comes from your coffee pot?

Or the vapor from a vix vaporizer that people use when they or a child have a cold? I really don't.

Allergic?

To answer your question: No - BECAUSE I'M NOT ALLERGIC TO COFFEE VAPOR.

Now answer my question: Would you want people brewing coffee around you if you had a health problem with it?

Obviously you see where this is going and we can stop here.

There's no fear in asking a question about any scientific studies done on the subject matter. Maybe there is fear in finding out what those studies would say?

No such thing

Vapor is vapor

Request

If vapor is vapor and there is no difference, then I ask you to inhale vaporized marijuana and vaporized mint. I'm pretty sure you'll see a difference.

Big Tobacco?

Bwahahahhaaaaahahaaaa

Big tobacco want to get into the game

And yes via government collusion they will force all the small stores to come to them for the e juice. The problem is the cat is out of the bag. Anyone can make their own juice. You can even download an android mixing calculator. It is only four ingredients.

How can they call this a

How can they call this a tobacco product when there is absolutely nothing to do with tobacco? I've done the E-cig thing and besides looking like a fake cigarette, there's nothing related to tobacco at all. It's vaporized nicotine.

The nicotine is extracted

The nicotine is extracted from tobacco.

Eh?

I understand Philip Morris has their own e-cig. Am I wrong?

Evidently, they will be

The regulations will define

The regulations will define e-cigs as a tobacco product and force people to have to buy them through licensed tobacco distributors.

That's the game here. Right now people can just buy them willy-nilly and free, and not even from one of Phillip Morris's state sanctioned distributorships! The horror! There are all kinds of products being developed and inventions happening, and boutique little industries popping up all over the place!!! It's total anarchy!

Could e-cigs be the "tea" for

Could e-cigs be the "tea" for our actual tea party?

I love my e-cig, and i know they are wildly popular here, and they are really making people's lives better!

This kind of blatant encroachment might just be something that could motivate otherwise uninterested people!
