VOTE: Should The Granger Stay or Get Lost?

Today I received a notice from DP saying that my, "Pro", status expires tomorrow 10AM EST.

Should I pay to stay, or should I go with respect to those that have the privilege to down vote me into oblivion for free?

I believe in financially supporting the FREEDOM OF SPEECH because while freedom may be popular, freedom isn't free.

I have a FRIEND who says I spend way too much time on DP, yet today, that same FRIEND, offered to sponsor me for another year as a PRO.

So, this is how the voting for me to stay or go will work:

An up vote on this TOPIC ARTICLE means: "STAY GRANGER with DP".

Down votes will be counted on a post below: "GET LOST GRANGER!!"

BUMPS do not count as how one voted. The bump for this article only keeps the thread bumped for others to see, providing others the opportunity to vote for me to stay of go.

Up votes ON The TOPIC ARTICLE, and down votes on the, "GET LOST GRANGER!!", will be the only votes counted.

Personally, I think voting should be for PROs ONLY. Many of us have complained about the voting icon (and it could hurt (((MN))) as he has a paying customer to lose in this election due to those who cheat).

Will Granger Stay or Go? I leave it to the majority (and the voting icon) to determine.

I think we have only agreed once

I think we have only agreed once, and have had quite a spat just last week. That spat culminated in you down voting what I thought was a great, well thought out, witty response to you accusing me of being the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. Frankly, you should not have down voted me. I took the time to google quotes from the movie, used those quotes in a response and made quite a funny post of it. Clearly you did not think so.

My point. SO WHAT. I got over it - quickly I might add. Hell, I was accused of being a government agent last week as well(hmm, now that I think of it - last week was a bad week here). Not being a government agent - I got over it - quite quickly again.
I was actually upset that post was taken down - I enjoy the sparring some times - it is good practice.

If it is, as some suggest, just a ploy to change the voting structure - then go - for I have no time for such games and insincerity.

However, if you really are upset over down votes and are sincere, then I sincerely feel bad for you and sincerely suggest talking to someone. Clearly you are in a bad place. The post itself cries for attention. You have been down voted for many years, why now, what has changed. Yes, the DP has changed - I have never been part of a post that was completely removed - maybe the content was over the top and more posters are over the top or maybe there is a conscious effort to move the site - but that is neither here nor there. I veteran such as yourself would not be so affected.

I do not claim to be your friend, but if I was, I would suggest things outside of here may be weighing on you and it would be wise to put forth effort into righting them and finding some peace- no matter the real intent behind the post. For both intents are clouded with darkness, and neither show a healthy state of mind.

I refused to vote the thread either way.

Only you have the freedom to make this decision. Blogs such as The DP and reddit are a great place that reminds me of this quote:

"Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." ~John Adams

That is a lot of purple lol

Granger, stick around :-)

But, as you always say, do what you want.

Stay or go, who cares? I blocked your comments a long time ago. It's all up to you.

thanks for the tip...

what a difference it makes.

Granger, I love the perspective you bring...

But it looks like everyone else is being sarcastic.

Sort of like this guy:

That was good

This reminds me of a reality show

where the half-naked contestants run obstacle courses through the woods, then sit around in something like a first grade reading circle and in dramatic fashion vote somebody's bum off the series.

Granger, be open-minded, but unless someone convinces you their perspective is closer to the truth, stand tall with what you believe, and don't let some down votes rattle you.

Keep your eye on the ball: the Daily Paul is one of the most effective tools of communication the Liberty grass roots activists have. Even though I go weeks without the time to post, I maintain my Pro status if for no other reason than it helps Michael keep the lights on in this important work.

Let's also acknowledge how respectful disagreements and deliberations help all of us to stay sharp and to maintain focus. Just because someone doesn't agree with you on some point doesn't mean they are unappreciative of your input.

I voted you up. You get to return next episode to scale a mound of glass shards before swimming through the alligator pit. Good luck.

have the freedom to do what you want.

I love the website

You love the website. So, let's stick together eh? You don't HAVE to read every post. And what's the big deal about downvotes again?

Personally, I'm not a fan of

I'm not a fan of your posts.

Just my opinion.

What you should do about pro status

I don't know, but I like reading your comments when I see them.

This post

Is this really a question/attention seeking effort for limiting up or down vote capability to paid accounts?

I find it strange that this "vote" would really be influential in your choice to stay or go. How you choose to spend and balance your time coming down to a forum post response?

Anyway, I've no strong opinion either way in either case. You should do what you think is right. Same goes for "MN", as to the other case.

Are you really this needy for

Are you really this needy for attention?
I don't read most of your posts and don't care if you stay or go.
If you do stay, I respectfully ask that you use spell check.

When I first saw the title of

When I first saw the title of this post I thought, "Why is something like this even ON here". Then I saw this was from Granger herself. That gave me pause. This is, to me, ridiculous. We have come to voting people off or on this website? Who is important here? Who should get votes if they go or stay? I am having a hard time even voicing my thoughts. I upvoted this, and think EVERYONE who does not use profanity nor name calling nor personal slurs should be allowed to say whatever they want. They should also be tough enough to take what comes of it. Staying or going is not the choice of others, but of one's self. No one should set themselves up as being some sort of hero or villain, celebrity or downtrodden. I have usually enjoyed what Granger has done, and her opinions, but this really turns me OFF. I would miss you if you went, Granger, but if this is the sort of thing you are doing now then if you go, oh well.

I can't say I care

The end.

I've got to say you challenge my thinking.

I've disagreed with you a lot but I always appreciated you're energy and willingness to live the philosophy 'I'd rather be strongly wrong than weakly right', which is also Ron Paul's own personal outlook:

As it happens I've never disagreed with Ron Paul other than his view on capital punishment which he says he has since changed to one of not trusting the government to administer real justice and ensure innocent people are not murdered - excuse me, executed. Does this mean that my worldview is perfect? Is Ron Paul's? Am I merely another sheep, no better than a republicrat or dumblican?

Can I look at someone else's perspective that is far removed from my own and at least understand how they came to it? Especially when I agree with them 80-90% of the time as I do you? Can I restrain myself from blasting or flaming you when you go totally off the mark (IMHO)?

Finally, you make me laugh (in a good way) and never waste my time by not having something to say which is way more irritating than simple being-wrongness on the internet.

Or maybe your brain is just cut in half and you don't know it:

Someone else I have also disagreed vehemently with but still respect greatly: http://www.dailypaul.com/291952/when-all-youve-ever-wanted-i...

never even look

At the author's name other than if I respond directly.and wish to be respectful. It is about ideas not personalities. I say move on.

How arrogant

How many of these egocentric posts have we seen over the years....

I have no problem with the poster whether they decide to stay or go.

The site was never about you or me or anyone else for that matter.

I don't say this out of hate because I love everyone.

On the other hand if someone wants to see their name in lights for the next six hours, more power to them.

Its like those face book post that have a puppy struggling to swim and the caption saying "like" if you would save him.

I guess I should just move on from this post... so, any Snowden news today?

I only agree with about 25% of your views...if that much, but I enjoy reading what you have to say. And as much as you anger people on here...If I were to meet you, I would like to hang out with you for a couple of days....meet your chickens, go to the beach and have you coach me so I can learn to surf better. Tell stories about all the things you've done and people you've met.
I think that would be awesome.

I think you are an interesting soul, Granger.

Voted Up

I've interacted with Granger only sparingly, and I often don't agree with stances I've seen you take. But I also believe you to be a genuine and passionate person who certainly has a place here on the Daily Paul.

Oftentimes, we need the voices we disagree with more than we need the ones we agree with.

Hope you'll stick around.

Granger offers a unique perspective.

We don't always and very rarely agree but I will miss her if she's gone.

Granger is fun because she is like our Alan Colmbs (what was his name?) Hannity and Colmbs?

Anyway, I digress.

Granger gives us a sounding board. She reminds us daily to ask ourselves if our values are just.

We need that.

I hope nobody ever takes a poll where I might have to leave.

did they

seriously just delete a thread that explained what hasbara is?

"If this mischievous financial policy [greenbacks], which has its origin in North America, should become endurated down to a fixture, then that government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off its debts and be without debts. It will hav

then banned that poster "tonym" for that hasabara thread

YEP it's bullshit tonyM is a paying memeber of this site and that article is talking about granger being a hasabara poster for an israeli lobby

MIKE this isn't right and he has really convincing material on the subject... see the google cashe for this article

and hasabara (near the bottom)

Tools of war are not always obvious. The worst weapon is an idea planted in the mind of man. Prejudices can kill, suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has an everlasting fallout all of its own.

Look closer.

He wasn't banned for that thread. That thread brought attention to the fact that he was an antisemite after Michael looked at the guys history.

Oh, and for the record, it's generally a bad idea to piss off the guy that owns the place...

This was all pretty obvious from the exchange that he and Michael had in the ModBox.

indeed they did

i saw it,then it was gone
might have been different if the granger wasn't called out by name
i did say might

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

That was a lot of work

and a nice culmination of posts going back. Certainly a good tool for new people.

I'm afraid that America has become so politically correct that our own principles and the truth no longer mean anything in our culture.

A small piece of me died when I saw that censored here of all places.

with it removed
might as well go learn from the public school system now
not much of a difference
and yes,i agree,it was a lot of work and time consuming
our reps should be vetted that well, and with that much effort
but this site hasn't been the same since the boston bombing, and it isn't going to get any better (there is no way it can)
