War on Drugs

We have strict drug laws written by those who generously use the drug alcohol. Our laws drive up the price of drugs a thousandfold, to the delight of delaers, the pushers, and terrorist nations around the world who all reap huge illegal profits. crimes are committed to finance the outrageous prices, and drug usage never goes down. Enforcement costs soar, and its success remains "mysteriously" elusive. The whole system creates an underground crime world worth billions of dollars; and addicts must entice others to join, getting new customers to finance their habits-forever compounding a social problem epidemic in proportion. Any new suggestions for changing our drug laws- that is, liberalizing them - is seen as political suicide by the hypocritical politicians and a society legally hooked on alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, aspirin and valium.

Quote by Ron Paul in his book:A Foreign Policy of freedom.

War on Drugs

The War on Drugs benefits the government in another way. Prison factories. The laws create a large non violent prison population, who have not harmed the life, liberty, or property of another, forced to work for multinational corporations and the state and federal government as slave labor. The minorities and the poor are paid at the most $125 per hour, usually less, but then most of that is reclaimed by the prison for room and board. This is nothing more then modern day slavery that disproportionately effects young black men, 1 out of 4 in some age groups. Ron Paul will free the enslaved and they call him the raciest?

Interesting fact, Barry Seal and Lee Harvey Oswald went to the same flight training school as teenagers run by CIA operatives in New Orleans. They recruit them young and dispose of them at will.

The bottom line is that you

The bottom line is that you own your body and I am not entitled to regulate how well you treat it. By the same token, you are not entitled to come to me for free health care after you've destroyed your body.

Freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. The link in my signature explains it beautifully.

Unconstitutional

The War on Drugs is blatantly unconstitutional at the federal level. It took a constitutional amendment to bring in Prohibition, and another one to repeal it. That was back when the Constitution was still accorded some respect and before the Supreme Court became a kennel of lapdogs, largely during the Roosevelt administration.

Cure for Cancer and Alzheimers

Marijuana is a CURE for 3 types of cancer, this has been proven as early as 1972. No sickness or hair loss. Not a treatment for nausia but a CURE!!

It also is the ONLY known substance that does what was previously thought impossible. IT REGROWS NUERONS. It is a treatment for Alzhiemers. Get a incoherent patient to eat or smoke a few joints a day and in a week they will be talking and regaining their mind.

Marijuana keeps people with Glaucoma from going blind. These are all indisputable facts. It stops hardening of arteries, lowers bloodpressure, treats ADHD, and depression. Pharmicuticals KILL. Pharmicutical pushers should be in jail not the saints who risk all to provide this God given plant to men.

It is less dangerous and addictive than Caffine!
I has over 5,000 industrial uses that replace Crude Oil in most of them such as biodegradable plastics to resins. Henry Ford even made a car out of marijuana fiber and it ran on ethanol from Marijuana. WE WOULD BE ENERGY INDEPENDENT IF MARIJUANA WAS LEGAL.

Marijuana is 5 times more efficient than corn or sugar in making ethanol. Ford designed cars to run on Marijuana Ethanol. But the big oil cronies with the help of DuPonts son in Law Anslinger forced the 1913 act through congress in a last minute sesssion.

The congressmen didn't even know that marijuana (mexican slang word) was Hemp. They thought is was something different. As the it was used in everything from Varnish to many medicines.

Marijuana seed is the most complete protien on earth and can solve world hunger. It requires no or very little fertelizer and insecticides. (The biggest polluters of our enviornment by the way).

The destruction of ferral hemp (wild marijuana) has led to the destruction of hundreds of species of birds. The War on Hemp, Cannabis, Marijuana (all the same plant) is such a offense that it is incomprehensible. The destruction of marijuana in Bangladesh for example is responsible for the massive soil errosion and thus flooding and suffering of millions. Not to mention the food source from the seeds.

By the way, 'sweet calamus' in the bible. The etymology of the word is Kanesh or Cannabis. Marijuana is part of the holy incence and anointing oil. IT is a part of EVERY Religions history. Of course we are familiar with the Sifu's today. The founding Fathers GREW and SMOKED marijuana, the constitution is written on paper made from marijuana

There is a difference between MORAL NATURAL LAW and MANS LAW. Which Thomas Jefferson said was Always immoral. Any person who enforces a immoral law is immoral just as those who write them are.

The true suffering and death because of the war on drugs is incalculable. The Nazi police were following the "law" when they forcfully removed the Jews to "resettle" in camps. All "good" family men just following the "law."

All this is verifiable by those with an open mind. One place to start is abovetheignorance.org (check the hemp link for the enviormental aspects) On the religous aspects this is a start.

The 3 Wise Men were Zorastrians, Zarathursa wrote the prophecy after comming out of a tent were they ritually burned marijuana. (much like in Afghanistan today). Marijuana is a sacrement to them as well as the ethiopian coptic church. The story of the 3 wise men is a story of 3 stoners on a road trip.

This is just the tip of the Iceburg ! The only reason Marijuana is illegal is because billionairs wanted to make billions selling crude oil and medicines. It is unconstitutional, against moral and natural law and
"I am only doing my Job" will not fly when standing before your maker at the end of your life now that you are no longer ignorant of the FACTS.

The problem is the truth that makes men free is NEVER the truth that men want to hear!

Why Should I Pay For Addicts to Sit Around Watching TV?

Why should I pay for addicts to sit around watching TV (and getting all the drugs they want) in prison? Why aren't they home in their mothers' basement until they are ready to recover, instead?

And wouldn't it be easier to apply pressure or seek help if nobody was going to be arrested?

Most people arrested are not addicts

but recreational users, much like those who drink a beer now and then.

But, you point is well taken. Treatment of addictive and dangerous drugs as a disease much like we treat alcholism is much more rational.

However, the prison and "justice" system make too much money confescating cars and selling them for parties, or arresting the recreational marijuana user. It is a big business and the prison population are the customers, if you will.

Of course this waste resources that could be used to fight REAL crimes that don't make the state any money such as robbery, child molestation, ect.

The war on drugs has created more addicts than anything.. Drugs are cheaper and more plentiful than they were 20 years ago.

Because parents cannot

Because parents cannot discipline their own kids, and so they institutionalize them so others can abuse them?

One of many great things about RP's 1988 campaign...

Is the McNeil Lehrer Newshour interview where (to 0 follow up from the public TV droids or any other "journalist") Dr. Paul dissed the CIA for their obvious "Contra" smuggling. The problem was, the Contra cocaine smuggling (by the Reagan administration, but INTO a state with a Democrat governor named Slick Willie!) was a BIpartisan scandal. Our media and our judicial system were not independent and moral enough back then (much less now) to do the obvious and either speak the truth or enforce the law. I've been right about this issue for 20 years, it's a media bias and bipartisan corruption scandal par excellence. Over the years, a FEW strange media bedfellows covered it, from the Wall Street Journal's Micah Morrison to the excellent work of High Times magazine on the issue. Sheesh...They've totally gotten-away with it, and if I'd done the same thing I'd be rotting in Noriega's jail cell.

Barry Seal

the New Orleans attorney who represented the Colombian hit men subpoenaed the CIA about what he suspected was its complicity in Seal's assassination in court, and with great difficulty and the assistance of the judge, was able to get the suitcase Seal was carrying on the night of his murder. Though it had been ransacked, he found a piece of paper in the wallet with the private phone number of George Bush. [1]:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Seal

He was not a lawyer. You're mistaken.

Barry was a coke-plane pilot (see your own wikilink!). When the administration had to smuggle arms to their "Contras" for a war down there, they didn't have the proper pilots. US Navy pilots could land a jet on a short carrier, but that's an entirely different skill-set from landing an overloaded prop-driven DC3 on a shitty + short rural dirt-strip. Screwing up in either case is a good way to die, and kill an expensive plane too.

They NEEDED to use coke-pilots like Seal because those pilots were the only/best ones with the requisite special flying-skills. The US government aided the smuggling of drugs during the '80s, so they're hypocrites. IMO payoffs went to politicians in both parties, and such drug money might explain Slick's overtaking Tsongas way back when. (IMO the wiki link is rather bland, the real story is that those arms-planes were full on both trips just about every time they went!)

Get the feds out of the business

How about this...local control.

I'm sure there are some who would like to control and distribute every vice there is out there, but there is some success in this country at controlling vice by not adopting a one size fits all mentality.

Alcohol - Some states have next to no restrictions, some have very aggressive restrictions. I live in a dry county (no purchase of alcohol). Some states have a 2am law for bars to close, some 4am. Some states allow 95% grain alcohol, some ban it.

Adult business - Some areas have lots of strip clubs and adult book stores, many have none. A few counties even have legalized prostitution, and in some places it's illegal to sell "toys" to your friends in your own home.

Gambling - Some states allow casinos, many do not. Some say riverboat only, some allow horse racing. Nevada has nearly universal gambling, some states allow Indian run casinos.

Seeing a pattern here? Locally made laws better reflect what the society is willing to tolerate. Are there disagreements in those societies? Certainly, but these things don't become part of the national agenda. Drugs should go the same way...it's a choice of values.

Government is even getting into the pain regulation business...they're prosecuting doctors who prescribe pain killers at unacceptable levels and amounts. The question is...who gets to decide how much pain I have to be in if i'm suffering from cancer. If a doctor is truly being unethical in prescribing drugs, then there are plenty of avenues to pursue (for instance, the AMA can revoke their license)

Why in the world any of us should care about what you're doing in your own home is beyond me...why I should pay to house, feed, protect, and guard a human being only guilty of having unhealthy habits is beyond me. America doesn't need it's leaders to save us from ourselves, we need you to save us from our leaders.

There are too many people and things to blame for this injustice we've been saddled with. It's pure ignorance and apathy, but you can blame those two things on all of our major problems. The solution is...forget it, i'm preaching to the choir

Save us good doctor!

What do you think about the war on drugs?
How about Operation Wall Street?

Some try to argue when I

Some try to argue when I talk about drug decriminalization. I then ask them, why aren't we imprisoning alcoholics? They don't have a response. Why.....because it sinks in that drug addiction, whether it is crack or alcohol, is a medical problem, not a criminal one. The black market the illegality creates is the financial backbone of organized crime and terrorists.

The War on Drugs is a complete waste of time. There are more people doing drugs now than when it first started as well as a lot of murderers, rapists, and pedophiles being released early from prison because the prisons are filled up with people that have a medical problem.

Try taking control of the terms of debate.

I use "the tax and spend drugwar" (it's my backhanded-tribute to Ronald Reagan) to describe it. People don't know if I'm trying to annoy Democrats or Republicans when I say that, because in truth I'm trying to get BOTH thinking a bit instead of walking around in their usual daze...
