He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth! Psalm 46

PSALM 46

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Well Said!

"I have no problem with you or anyone else believing in magic sky-daddies, as long as it doesn't affect my life, my liberty."

Unfortunately though, in reality, this is a "christian" driven/influenced government and there's no escaping their grip...

for now.

thank "god" the people that messed things up are dying off of old age and the generations coming up know better than to mix gov't and religion

both of your blaspheme will

both of your blaspheme will one day come to judgement. Least anyone here need not to judge you.

As the atheist philosopher Jurgen Habermas says: "Christianity, and nothing else, is the ultimate foundation of liberty, conscience, human rights, and democracy, the benchmarks of Western civilisation. To this day, we have no other options. We continue to nourish ourselves from this source. Everything else is postmodern chatter."

Please bring yourself out of the hole in which the lord of the flys has dug for you. And that is serious.

Hmmmph.....

First of all, like many Christian apologists do, the Habermas quote is a misinterpretation. See here:
http://www.habermasforum.dk/index.php?type=news&text_id=451

Not only is it misquoted, it is spliced together from different parts of the actual quote. Just like David Barton who splices, misquotes, and just plain makes things up, you display utter dishonesty.

There is also no such thing as an "atheist philosopher". There are philosophers who are atheist, many are in fact. That is not the same thing. Again you are being dishonest by falsely assuming that there is a "philosophy" to atheism. There isn't. It is not a belief, not a world-view, not a philosophy. If you weren't lying, you would have said "the atheist AND philosopher..." and then continue your misquoted lie.

Lastly, did you mean "Lord of the flies"? Great book.

Im sorry i was under the impression you believed that atheism was true.

Exactly!

You are under a false impression. I do not believe atheism is "true", it is not a positive claim. That is a ridiculous question. I do not have a god belief, that is all.

Thanks for swaying the discussion from admitting you are being dishonest to getting into some semantic, philosophical babble.
