Update, Jul 15: AP Reporter to Psaki: Why Can’t You Say Morsi’s Name?

Associated Press reporter Matt Lee challenged State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki to say explicitly that the U.S. urged Egypt to release President Mohamed Morsi, but Psaki would not oblige, telling him she would not “play this game” and wondering if he simply liked the sound of her voice. Psaki,Resign your position.

Resign your position.

If Psaki and the Obama administration have their way, Snowden MIGHT receive a trial by jury, but his defense team would be muzzled so only the prosecutors would be able to speak at his trial. According to Psaki and her handlers, God forbid that Snowden might ask for help from his lawyers to prevent a judicial lynching. LoL ... wowzers!

this is epic LOL !
he is not a whistle blower but a criminal !
and there was no coup in Egypt and so we are sending them fighter jets.
and the Taliban forces joining the Syrian "rebel" forces are the good guys since they are fighting Assad !!

is there any limit to how much BS the govt can shell out ?

This girl has a special

This girl has a special talent for saying nothing

It's funny, Congress is being

It's funny, Congress is being fed the line that Snowden was nothing but the equivalent of a "telephone repair man", according to Congressman James Lankford of Oklahoma. It seemed to be an effort to downplay the importance of what information Snowden had access to (you can hear Lankford when a friend of mine and I confronted him about it here: http://www.dailypaul.com/292223/oklahoma-congressman-lankfor...)

But the State Department seems to be totally freaking out.

Kentucky Resolutions 1798 - It is OUR DUTY to Uncover Corruption

This could be titled "Socialist Propaganda Spokeswoman Calling For Silencing A Free Citizen of the United States"

"Two Socialist Governments Deciding the Fate of a Free Citizen's simply practicing of his First Amendment Right and First Amendment DUTY."

See: Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions 1798 defining this DUTY:
In Full: http://www.americanpatriotparty.cc/candidates

Virginia Resolution - 1798

James Madison: "...That this state having by its Convention, which ratified the federal Constitution, expressly declared, that among other essential rights, "the Liberty of Conscience and of the Press CANNOT be cancelled, abridged, restrained, or modified by "ANY" authority of the "United States"," and from its extreme anxiety to guard these rights from EVERY possible attack of "sophistry or ambition", having with other states, recommended an amendment for that purpose, which amendment was, in due time, annexed to the Constitution; it would mark a reproachable inconsistency, and criminal degeneracy, if an indifference were now shewn, to the most palpable violation of one of the Rights, thus declared and secured; and to the establishment of a precedent which may be fatal to the other. ..."

Kentucky Resolution - 1798:

Thomas Jefferson: "...3. Resolved, That it is true as a general principle, and is also expressly declared by one of the amendments to the Constitutions, that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, our prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"; and that NO power over the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the press being delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, all lawful powers respecting the same did of right remain, and were reserved to the States or the people: that thus was manifested their determination to retain to themselves the right of judging how far the licentiousness of speech and of the press may be abridged without lessening their useful freedom, and how far those abuses which cannot be separated from their use should be tolerated, rather than the use be destroyed. And thus also they guarded against ALL abridgment by the United States of the freedom of religious opinions and exercises, and retained to themselves the right of protecting the same, as this State, by a law passed on the general demand of its citizens, had already protected them from "ALL" human restraint or interference. And that in addition to this general principle and express declaration, another and more special provision has been made by one of the amendments to the Constitution, which expressly declares, that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press": thereby guarding in the same sentence, and under the same words, the freedom of religion, of speech, and of the press: insomuch, that whatever violated either, throws down the sanctuary which covers the others, arid that libels, falsehood, and defamation, equally with heresy and false religion, are WITHHELD from the cognizance of federal tribunals. That, therefore, the act of Congress of the United States, passed on the 14th day of July, 1798, intituled "An Act in addition to the act intituled An Act for the punishment of certain crimes against the United States," which does abridge the freedom of the press, is "NOT LAW", but is "ALTOGETHER" "VOID", and of "NO FORCE". ..."

Speech being "withheld from federal tribunals", we should be arresting those in the federal government and the courts that have stepped outside their limited delegated authority and are pursuing Snowden who is a free citizen.

To Be or not To Be

Administration mouthpieces (of all parties) are very careful to avoid the use of definitive words and especially the present tense of the verb "to be".
She slipped and said "...our position IS (oops!) has always been..." To say one's position "has always been" is drastically different than saying "our position is".

This is a great video and worth watching in its entirety.

Too me the most ironic part is she refused to answer what

was said in the phone conversations. So let me get this straight.

On one side you have a man who came out and told us how secretive our government is and how they are lying to us and NOT being open and honest.

You then have the government talking head saying she has no idea what was said in those "private" conversations between State and Russian officials.

Is this lost on others? Those are not private conversations - those conversations are official US business and should be transcribed for public viewing.

Geesh - its not hard people.

Love her obvious agreement...

You can see the smile growing on her face. Its like she is basically saying "yes, i know this is bullshit, but i have to read this... you arguments are valid so ill just smile as I am so nervous because I agree with you an not the words I am saying". That smile is telling it all.

A perfect analysis of what we witnessed by her...

...non verbal communication.

That is EXACTLY what I felt as I looked at the expressions on her face and her body language.

Which means she has a little conscience left in her, and probably means she will be demoted from EVER EVER EVER being in front of a camera again talking about "national security" issues or being asked to lie for her government. She can't lie well, she doesn't have a poker face.

I don't even know who she is, but I doubt we'll see her with a microphone again, or (as I just re-watched it and saw that she is the State Dept's Spokesman!) she will be trained on how to deal with such "inappropriate questioning".

I know our criminal gov't wants to put pretty, well-groomed people out as their spokespeople, but she failed the test. She was not believable. Though I do wonder how even a practiced liar like Obama or Carney would have handled such questioning.

Furthermore, I doubt that reporter is allowed access anymore!

"I don't even know who she is....." Jenn Psaki

Jennifer Rene "Jen" Psaki (pronounced /sɑːkiː/) (born 1978) is the spokesperson for the United States Department of State and a former spokesperson for U.S. President Barack Obama.

Psaki began her career in 2001 with the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack. Psaki then became deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. From 2005 to 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. Representative Joseph Crowley and regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.[3]

Throughout the 2008 presidential campaign of U.S. Senator Barack Obama, Psaki served as traveling press secretary.[3] After Obama won the election, Psaki followed Obama to the White House as Deputy Press Secretary and was promoted to Deputy Communications Director on December 19, 2009.[4][5] Psaki left that position on September 22, 2011 to become senior vice president and managing director at the Washington, D. C. office of public relations firm Global Strategy Group.[6][7]

In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as press secretary for President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.[8] On February 11, 2013, Psaki became spokesperson for the United States Department of State.[8] Her hiring at the Department of State has fueled speculation that she is likely to replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when he leaves the White House.[9]

Miss /piss-saki/ is a slimy toadie and party hack, isn't she?!

We may be American, but that doesn't mean we can't pronounce the /P/ in Psaki. Anyway, miss /piss-saki/ is a slimy toadie and party hack, isn't she?! Look at that resume of kowtowing and butt kissing and foot worshiping, swimming through rivers of ego-stripped sewage, climbing over the fallen bodies of other yes-men and toadies and reptiles. And now she's in the big time: spokeswoman for the state department. And made to look a complete and total idiot!

Too bad RT cut off the last bit about charged persons not having their first amendment civil rights.

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Anyone else think its ironic

that she is calling it propaganda while obviously reading from her 'message' notes?

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

How ironic

How ironic that they complain about a 'propaganda platform' in light of this:

Southern Agrarian

Jeez, the current US government

is now so OBVIOUSLY a criminal organization! They represent the complete antithesis of American values and the American spirit. We are occupied by hostile, soulless, despicable sub-humans with zero moral conscience, folks.

Oh, yes he IS a whistleblower, you g-d d-mn, red-haired lackey-

b-tch! This b-tch has got to be the poster child for lack of integrity. Ick!!!

yes, it is THAT bad.

I am happy the world can see it now.

For once I agree with the US government...

silence the propogandists!!!!!

Oh, wait - that would be the U.S. controlled media vis a vis CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc.

THEN where would the American people get their news from?

Blatant un-American activity

Blatant un-American activity from the Federal Government.

Wish I was a journalist

Man, I wish I was a journalist there in that meeting so I could ask that lady "What should Mr. Snowden had done so he could be classified as a whistle-blower?" or "How did Mr. Snowden harm the U.S. by indicating he wants to apply for asylum in Russia?"
Let me guess...eeerrrrr...report this abuse to his superiors! Right?
So, we will never hear of him, he would just be another victim who died of mysterious circumstances.
You don't just say "hey guys, I've really enjoyed working for the CIA and NSA, but I want to report you guys, and do something else for a while".
They will pull the plug on your life if you try to walk away from participating in an illegal scheme, like PRIZM.
In the future...Mr. Snowden will speak to the U.N. on what he had to endure for standing up to the giant Corporate USA. Africa had its Mandella, America will have its Snowden.

Ah, Russia,

tripping over yourself to ensure that an American citizen has "freedom of speech"....all the while denying it to your own citizens.
Isn't that called hypocrisy?...or is it propaganda?

Ah Jill Booth

Never met a man named Jill so as a woman, surely you support the Pussy Riot in Russia.

Snowden is the same exact thing in the USA, voicing truth in an empire of lies.

You either support both, or neither.

Putin is power mad, Obama is power mad.

There is literally no difference between them except Obama had his balls shaved off and Putin had his balls shaved more carefully

It's only a 2,100 year old ongoing story, after all:

is it NOT?

Damn, that's a SERIOUSLY recurring phenomenon, if one asks me.

So much so that I beg to seriously question the VERY QUESTIONABLE idea (by now) that man is a thinking animal with ANY LONG TERM memory.

Thinking animal? May be...

ALSO with long term memory? Wait, NOT SO SURE!

Some years ago, I've stopped taking it for granted.

Either that or, alternatively:

I can't remember that guy's name, but he is a real thorn in the side at those press conferences. He often asks a lot of hardball questions that they try to side step.
