Dr. Timothy Leary: Powerful words about personal liberty; equates tax w/extortion

He sounds like Ron Paul in almost the entire video especially on foreign policy. "Turn on, tune in, and TAKE OVER" cool update on his more widely known quote - "turn on, tune in, and drop out."

IIRC

Leary was going to webcam his death from Cancer, and then he decided not to for some reason. I remember that. Although I never had him open a pop top beer for me when he was in jail.

He was big time into the internerds.

And I guess he decided against Alcor. hehe

Timothy Leary's head...

I've always had a fondness for counter culture

There are some talented voices that have drifted into that vein.

Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola come to mind directly. Andy Warhol has done some great stuff. Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper have worked behind the scenes though they get little credit.

On the musical scene the Dead Kennedys were great, along with the Misfits, The Moody Blues, the Byrds were phenomenal, the last great counter culture band I'd say would have to be Nirvana.

William Burroughs, Hunter Thompson, Daniel Ellsberg and Abbie Hoffman are a few other familiar faces.

David Icke reminds me a bit of Timothy Leary for whatever reason.

What people don't understand

What people don't understand is Ron Paul will be right alongside them historically, unless he succeeds, but remember Tim Leary's goal as a member of the black Panthers was "The overthrow of the American Government". He was about to run for governor of Cali - could you imagine how the world would be different if Timothy Leary won instead of Reagan? The Beatles wrote his campaign song - he may have been fringe, but he had big name, big money supporters...Politically motivated possession charge killed that idea. Even if he didn't win, we'd have video of Dr. Timothy Leary VS. Ronald Reagan which would be AWESOME.

I met Tim 03 Nov 1973 in New Orleans

We sat together on a piano bench and he opened a Michalob beer for me.

Long story short, in all the many years I knew Tim, went to his house, his last days were very sad, AIDS had him with massive scabs.. he was in a wheel chair, weighed maybe 90 poinds, and he was ANGRY, an ANGRY Irishman.. smoked non-stop, tobacco and weed, drank constantly, had a huge tank of nitrus and always a big balloon full he would suck on.... yelled at everyone when he had energy, cursed at everyone when he didn't.. he was a mess. He died six weeks later.

He was chrismatic in his youth.. I remember when he got AIDS.. It was a shmae how the whole thing ended and why you won't read too many stories about what the trip became (crash and burn).

RIP (((((Tim))))) those were some wild days back then.. we were wrong.. now we the living can remember and know why.. but life goes on and that drream is for those who were not there.. cheers.

11 03 76

73 is when my family transfered to New Orleans.

It was in 76, not 73.

Believe what you want. It's not going to change my experience.

I think you search to down me because it's what stops you from having to look at yourself.

Ever the autoritarian nazi, now you're screaming for me to "Get Out".

Poor MN, when the paracites tell his supporters to get out, he won't be able to afford the paracits a place to tell anyone what to do.

I'm free Ira, and you're trapped, so rage away, it makes me feel good knowing how happy it makes you.

I'm not telling you to leave, wingnut

True

But then, it goes to show, once again, that your own bias and ignorance are what imprison you to misconceptions that ultimately defeat you

It WAS cancer haha I didn't

It WAS cancer haha I didn't even catch that...makes your other claims even less believable. And it appears he WAS in prison - were you there?

Yes

I met him after his release, and while the medical report can claim prostrate cancer, just as the medical report on my father's death was heart failure (after a decade of mantal cell lymphoma, three rounds of chemo, and my mother's died of dehydration, after one round of chemo for esophigeal cancer.. I'm sure the medical reports protect doctors and hospitals advancing oncology where they make a living.

And yes, the last I saw Tim was in 1996, 6 weeks before he passed away.. and he looked like HELL.

Sure you did

Then you caught a unicorn ride back to marijuana mountain

Did that feel good Ira?

Isn't is amazing how being deceptive in the form of sarcasim can sate the hate?

You would know,

you're an expert at it!

Me? I'm just a regular Joe who likes to point out the traitors/liars of the liberty movement!

I'm not of the liberty movement Ira

I joined the Ron Paul rEVOLution, not a liberty movement.

Since you admit you are not part of the Liberty movement...

OK my scope of operations now include outing the traitors and liars of the Ron Paul rEVOLution.

Thanks for clearing that up, I'll make sure my Liberty Committee signs a blood oath at our next meeting.

(I bet Rand would pay you good money to STFU! Me? I'm glad you're here! You confirm my beliefs and suspicions.)

That's a pretty big job

Kinda hard to go to all those GOP committee meetings nationally to out us.

Or have you made it your job to be the rEVOLution and LM police on DP?

Your Liberty Committee.. LOL

I have three letters here from rand asking for contributions. Maybe you should write him?

Technology, confused Granger, allows us watchers to watch you

without the travel.

And my are you ever special, I get Randal's junk mail as well, makes good firestarter! I actually kind of like him, just not how he thinks he can game the voters into voting for him. I see why he appeals to you, you like getting conned, like signing your loyalty pledge.

Keep talking wingnut!

I thought NSA was "The Watchers"

I had to sign the loyalty OATH (not pledge) to the GOP (the party Ron Paul would not leave), the USA Constitution, and a 470: will not commit perjury.

Since you are on a committee, I would think that you know ALL elected within any party, signs a loyalty oath in their county clerk's office to collect their elected seat.

Oh confused statist,

so sad. Keep compromising and you'll end up on a dead end road with a dead end future. Keep on keeping on, the world needs losers!

I paid a lot of money to be in the GOP Ira

calling me a sell out is assuming I took money or was paid. I am not paid, rather I PAY thousands of dollars to be where I am.

You can call me a sellout or anything you like, but it is not true. I did not take money to be in the GOP, I PAY to be where I am.

Maybe you can't understand that, but that is the truth.

Believe what you wish. I'm not here to force my experience on you. I find it a shame that you are so weak you feel you must force your own belief on me in constant challange.

If you are uncool and a jihad, than that truth must offer you relief.

As for the intellectual here, I believe many strive for that, but they are undermined by propeganda which unfortunately for them, as they do not have the experiences I have had to be able to laugh at what you hope would hurt me, they become angry and stop being intelectual. I shouldn't laugh.. it's really sad. What a miserable life you must lead. I will pray for you.

I too paid a lot of money to be in the GOP

and was sold out by zionist whores like you. You signed a loyalty oath similar to this.... http://articles.latimes.com/2010/oct/11/world/la-fg-1011-isr...

Not cool!!!!

As far as my so called miserable life, once again you make remarks about something you know nothing about.

Maybe it's your lifelong frustration with your identity that drives you to say and do such ridiculous things????

This prayer is for you....
