Jay Carney rankled by Zimmerman question from 16 year old Daily Caller reporter

The Media brat pack picks on high school intern who dares ask real question of Jay Carney

From: William A. Jacobson Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 5:13pm

Now I remember why I detest the snide and smug insider attitude of the D.C. and liberal media.

Noah Rothman has the story at Mediaite about a Daily Caller intern who asked a perfectly legitimate question at a press conference today and was mocked by much of the “professional” media:

http://youtu.be/n__W-UDgOCA
The impropriety displayed on Wednesday by a high school-age intern who dared to ask White House Press Secretary Jay Carney a question relating to the security provided to the family of George Zimmerman knows no bounds. That is apparently the opinion of a number of members of the political press. After an intern had the temerity to ask Carney a question, the political media flew into a tizzy over the presumptuousness of the intern and turned to mocking him and the venue which credentialed him to be in the Briefing Room in the first place….

The 16-year-old intern, Gabe Finger, asked Carney about the security provided Zimmerman’s family in the wake of the controversial not guilty verdict handed down last Saturday. Carney said that President Barack Obama and the Martin family have called for a non-violent reaction to the verdict.

“So, they’re on their own?” Finger followed up.

“You can editorialize all you want, and I’m sure that you will, but that is a ridiculous statement,” Carney shot back.

Priceless response!

Some reporters in Washington are asking why The Daily Caller sent our intern Gabe Finger to the White House press briefing this afternoon. Talk about missing the point. The real question is, why did it take a 16-year-old intern to raise an obvious and important question that the White House press corps should have asked days ago? We don’t care how old Gabe Finger is. It doesn’t matter to us what his credentials are. All we care about is how well he does his job. Today he did it a lot better than most White House reporters.

Carney Barker Schooled By A Bright 16 Year-Old Intern

P R I C E L E S S !

That was beautiful!

Look at how just a little bit of Light makes this psychopathic worm get all uncomfortable and shifty.

Their "power" is all based on illusion of power. They are weak, sick "human" beings that are a parasitic infection on the world and the fires of Truth being lit all over the World will burn them off one by one.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

It wasn't a statement, it was a question.

Whataputz.

Every word out of Jay Carney's mouth is a lie. Just as with...

...every previous White House Press Secretary.

Their job is to LIE to the press and the American people and to never answer a question truthfully.

The ones who worked for Bush were even bigger liars.

That wench Dana Perino was one of the worst. Now she's one of FOX's big stars.

I can't stand to even look at any of these lying rats.

You guys are kidding me....

I hate that dick press secretary as much as anyone, but the question is ridiculous, and the follow up retarded.

It is not in the constitution for the president to provide security for individuals like that, and nor should it be. One could argue it is for local law enforcement only, but I don't think that is true either.

And the notion that if Obama doesn't do it then nothing will be done as presumed by his follow up, means the kid is a victim of government school propoganda that teaches him politicians are gods.

SuccessCouncil I beg to

SuccessCouncil I beg to differ, the question was appropriate. As you know President Obama and the DOJ sided with the Martin's and black political activists against George Zimmerman -- in word, if not in deed -- before the trial ended with Zimmerman's acquittal. The President is elected to represent all Americans and provide whatever security necessary to protect us from mob violence -- I admit, I could be mistaken.

He was making a point

I think you need to rethink your response :)

I love these young kids :)

Ever think that was the whole

Ever think that was the whole point he was trying to make, it's not the President's job to get involved in the case to begin with?

Hardly "ridiculous" or "retarded", SuccessCouncil.

Perhaps more like..."rhetorical". Listen again.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the constitution

maybe it goes back to men being men - the president and his AG opened their mouths and made statements - you know - if I had a son he would look like Trayvon - we are going to investigate this hate crime(even after the FBI already ruled it out).

So now they have made inflammatory comments and its on them to make sure those comments don't go getting an innocent man hurt. That's exactly why there are laws against making such comments - frankly - the prosecutor should be arrested for calling him a murderer AFTER the trial.

Not to mention - he is clearly a young person - and great men show their greatness by how they treat the least amongst us - clearly Jack Ass Jay is not a great man. His snide little remark is clear proof of that.

And last point - YES it is the job of local law enforcement to provide protection to a citizen whose safety is in clear jeopardy if they so ask for that protection.

If the pres and EH can spout off and get the state to appoint a special prosecutor - then they damn well should use that same power to appoint a special security detail.

This aint about big government and roles.

And neither is it the job of

the President or the DOJ to interfere in court cases within the various states...which...they did. Organizing riots to the tune of $5M dollars of your and our tax dollars. You sign up for that? That's what I call 'ridiculous'--or--understatement of the year...

These are not Constitutional times...we are fighting for scraps about now.

OK

It wasn't Obama's place to speak on the trial in the first place. And it wouldn't be his place to get involved now to provide special federal protection. If the US Federal Government does not get involved that does not mean Zimmerman "is on his own" in the words of this questioner.

The premise of the question is part of the problem. People think the federal government is some magic fairy that should take care of all social problems and issues. It is not that.

Atta boy Gabe...

Perfectly executed succinct question...
and GREAT followup.
I'm smiling ear to ear!

The kid had a good point. Any

The kid had a good point. Any violence against the Zimmerman family now would obviously be a hate crime and therefore a federal offence.

I pity Carney though. Lying

I pity Carney though. Lying day in day out in front of the whole world is taking a toll on him. He looks much older in a short spam of time.

Jay Carney is the one who is ridiculous.

He has proven it time and time again. The kid asks a very simple and straightforward question only to receive the usual terrible and convoluted Carney answer.

Tough guy, that Carney--lol

Can't read his looks at Fringe afterwards, but it's like he;s debating with himself whether or not to really land on this kid with all fours:

"You know kid, I could have you locked up for at least 8 years for your insolence. Do it all the time, you know."
