I Was a Neocon Until Jesus Christ Brought Me HomeSubmitted by phxarcher87 on Sun, 07/21/2013 - 05:21
I was a neocon until Jesus Christ brought me home. I loved war, trusted my government and wanted George W. Bush jr to lay it to the bad guys. But once Jesus softened my heard i was able to feel again. I opposed war and violence. I started to realized war was a deceitful lie brought on by men why do now know God.
Dr. Paul is a political dissident, much like my savior, Jesus Christ.
John 18: 28-37
Jesus Before Pilate
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. 32 This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die.
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
Christ took the beating of all beatings for you and I. My saviors life is very unique, it did not stop at the death of his body though. He rose from a cold tomb on the third day to show the world that death is not the end.
In a very very very small way I saw Dr.Pauls life going the same way. As goes, he is a Dr. who delivers babies. What, I thought politicians were lifers? So Dr. Paul puts his career on hold to help save the people of the U.S.A. It's like Noah and the Ark, building a ship and everyone around him thinks he's crazy.
Dr. Pauls ship that he was building was one I never saw before. It entailed a strong hull of national security and the idea that maybe our international actions were bringing our own blowback. His sails consisted of individuality and self ownership, economic and social liberties. His tall mast, fervently opposing the Federal reserve and holding strong against strong winds. The wheelhouse that guided the boat was one of non violence and honest money. His ship was one I was willing to board. I had faith in this man to steer my country in the right direction away from destruction.
Still i ask, why would one man care so much about his country and liberty? Why do people choose to fight the good fight and not just give in to darkness, and with Christ I ask why for me?
