WND Exclusive: Obamacare Has Doctors Planning Exit

60% say many physicians will retire from medicine early within next 3 years

Published: 2 days ago
BOB UNRUH

In a survey by a top research firm, six in 10 physicians said it is likely many doctors will retire earlier than planned in the next one to three years.

The same percentage say the practice of medicine is in jeopardy as medical experts lose control of their clinics and compensation with the implementation of the Affordable Health Care for America Act, or Obamacare.

Might be a good time to dust off that medical tourism business

Not me

My practice opted out of Medicare 6 months ago. We now take $45 per office visit. Without having to file insurance, that is a reasonable fee. Once expenses are further trimmed, I will get out of all insurance contracts and do pure fee for service.

The other thing we never bought into was the electronic medical record (EMR). With the disclosures about the NSA spying, it would not surprise me if Glenn Greenwald reveals that they are accessing medical records. Anyone who doubts that just needs to read about Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrists office being broken into on the order of Richard Nixon. The CIA contractors couldn't find Ellsberg's medical records!

So, find a doctor, who keeps paper records, and who accepts cash for service and keep your ED, STD, ADD, GERD and PTSD problems between you and the doc. Then find an independent pharmacy and pay cash for any prescription.

We are accepting new patients. It would be a privilege to care for any of my fellow patriots from DP. Aiken, SC is 10 minutes from Augusta, Georgia. My cell 803-295-7464.

I pay only cash for all medical/dental visits...

My doctor and dentist love me... :) And I get huge discounts for not making them fight with an insurance company.

Somewhere in America a

Somewhere in America a Liberal's head exploded the second you clicked the button to post your response.

It so simple but whenever I try to bring up how much better your method of free market healthcare is they never get it and just try to tell me how greedy Insurance company CEOs are.

In all honesty, Obamacare is going to fail miserably in that it is so complex nobody can figure out how to ever remain compliant and they just keep pushing back deadlines. What is important is to provide a simple, sensible alternative to the whole mess.

drmikevasovski- A tip of my hat and an upvote for you sir!

In the meantime, if you work in technology or Employee Benefits you should shift your career to the HRIS and Ben Admin system sector. It is actually an expanding industry and with the Obamacare mess companies especially need integrated payroll, benefits time/labor systems to keep in compliance.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

I have a question.

Since Obamacare mandates that everyone buy health insurance then why, when it is implemented, would someone opt to pay out of pocket instead of using the insurance they have been forced to pay for? I am speaking of the majority of course.

IMO:

After seeing how much insurance costs and how much the cost is expected to increase and the fact that we will be fined if we don't buy it then I don't see how your practice can hold up. Also do you think it likely that the government will end up passing more laws that make it mandatory that you must accept insurance? I mean that would be no different than mandating that people buy insurance in the first place.

The government has a way of getting what they want. I believe they want to force everyone into the medical system because of the control it offers. Forced insurance will be followed by forced "healthcare" itself. This I believe is for the purpose of having more control and it seems that in the end they will also have to force doctors to submit to their authority just as they are forcing everyone else to submit to the health "authorities". Their plans wont work if doctors don't comply.

In the end just as I am being forced against my will to participate in a system I don't believe in so will you and other doctors who rebel be forced to participate in a system you don't believe in.

Answer: Better care at a lower cost and privacy.

Without an EMR, your medical records are not "in the system." Neither are the physicians caring for you.

I understand the concept , but..

the majority won't give a rats ars about that. There is a reason people are likened to sheep and it is due to their herd mentality. Also when the argument is made that mandatory insurance is no good if their is not mandatory insurance acceptance then the cash for service medical practice will become illegal via government mandate. Just as our natural right to self is taken away with the individual mandate.

I'm not talking about the legitimacy of how a doctor runs his practice. I am talking about proven human nature and the eventual further government interference that is bound to rear its ugly head.

Everyone has been given a waiver for a year.

They are kicking the can down the road again. The doctors opting out of the system now are doing the right thing, like going to "Galt's Gulch." They are not part of the scam. They are free, and their patients will be also.

It sounds as if you have already capitulated.

They can mandate all they want, but it still does not make the law Constitutional. It isn't. Everyone in WashUSaton knows it, but won't do anything. The courts have no authority to write law!
If we don't stop this BS now, it will continue until they control every aspect of our lives. I will not purchase what the criminals "mandate". I will not pay a fine or tax for not doing so. I will go to jail if that's what it takes.

Don't get me wrong.

I feel the same way as you with the exception that I will not go to jail so I can be at the whim of their twisted minds. To me this is the last straw.

I am just trying to ask the question from an overall point of view. Let's face it, the majority does not look at this as we do.

are you a member of AAPS?

American Association of Physicians and Surgeons?

The past president was Dr. Alieta Eck. AAPS spearheaded the idea of fee for service and recommends all physicians to follow the template you described--opt of of medicare/medicaid first then drop 3rd party insurance companies gradually. The worst compensators get dumped first!

Not yet

but it's on the to-do list. The incoming president is a family doc in Greenville, SC who I've met. He, like myself, is also a supporter of Richard Cash for US Senate. We are trying to replace Lindsey Graham next year. www.RichardCashforSenate.com

The current president is doc

The current president is doc from TX. She has a practice that's strictly fee for service. I'm not familiar with the incoming pres from SC.

Is Richard Cash running in the primary or as an independent?

This is the antidote to OBarryCare IMHO.

I hope more and more Drs. around the country go this route. Are you in contact with others who are making the same move? Is there an association of fee for service physicians so we can locate like minded care in our areas?

Great idea!

Well, barryslist.com is already taken, but the .net version is available.

To explain the idea: Obamacare has created the need for this list. So, it is his list, even if he doesn't own it, profit from it, etc.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Bump for your business

Having that single vote is AWESOME. THANK YOU

I'm taking a survey

wanna participate?

Has anyone here at the Daily Paul gone to a doctor with an ailment of any kind and been cured of said ailment with treatments provided by doctor?

Are all symptoms gone? No other symptoms arose? Do you have more vitality, sleep better, wake refreshed and ready to go? Are you taking any doctor prescribed "medicines"?

Thank you for participating.

A old doctor of mine once gave me an Pneumonia shot ..

For the next 3-4 years I came down with Pneumonia..

I gave her hell about it. She said you must have been exposed to another variety or strain of the virus..

I told her yea, well, you advised me that it was free and it was suppose to cover me for the rest of my life...It was a once in a lifetime preventative because I was an asthmatic and she didn't want me to risk getting Pneumonia..I believe the shot infected me with the virus..

I almost died. Subsequently, I dropped her like a bad habit and found an alternative medical doctor of which i am very well pleased.

Beware of the witch doctors of orthodox medicine..

They may be good for a necessary surgery or for setting broken bones, but all they know is "here, take a pill or take this shot".. All BS!

How scary is that??

Forcing out the older and independent doctors, to be replaced by "company owned" nation wide one-stop Medical Clinics that spew Big Phama propaganda.
