Are Jews The Chosen People?

Title: 937 - Heritage Of Israel

Author: Walter J. Veith

Description: Tradition holds that those who are born of the sons of Abraham can receive salvation by this merit alone. There are many people who claim to be from the tribes of Israel. This DVD examines this belief in light of Scripture. What was the purpose of Israel? Does salvation come through the Jewish nation? Is salvation even possible through birthright? The meaning of the Jewish feasts is also examined, along with the question of the name of Jesus.

Who invented the "chosen people" myth?

Ancient Jewish priests invented the title of their contrived god's "chosen people" to give an identity to an otherwise inconsequential tribe at the time that separated them from the other nomads of that era. In-so-far as to being "God's" "chosen people" - first of all for that to be valid a god would have to exist, and, contrary to unsubstantiated religionist's fanciful claims, that is a physical impossiblity.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

So you're an Atheist.

Lol. Yeah, the Hebrews were just another inconsequential desert tribe other than the fact they changed the World and human history forever, creating the 10 Commandments, Eye-for-an-Eye, the idea of One True G-d who is Good, all of which resulted in a Renaissance of human thought and understanding, Christianity, and the Constitution and United States of America where you can still live in peace and justice. There has always been evil in the world but to blame Israel is to blame cure for the disease.

eye for an eye?

one true god,the 10 commandments??
the god broke just a few of them commandments?!?!
this does not compute
i bet them peoples living in the jewish promised land might have thought otherwise, that is if they were still alive to tell their version of being ousted, then killed and foreigners stealing what was left
i would bet them jerichoins might have a different idea of history, had not the god of all creation knocked their walls down
i would bet the pharoah who lost all the first born in egypt, might perhaps
have a differing opinion of them events leading up to killing of his first born
so yeah, when does murder become wrong? does this depend on who is doing the killing, and who is getting killed?
then there is the whole that none shall perish until they hear the gospels
guess them dead people didn't get that memo, did they?

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

According to the

book the jews wrote...the jews are the chosen ones.

And that Book is the foundation for Christianity, Islam, ...

...the non-aggression principle, the passive resistance method, the US Constitution, Libertarianism, American Conservatism, the Liberty movement, etc., etc...

Any more complaints?

After they rejected and murdered the Son of God

they were no longer favored, but condemned to wander the planet and git non-stop wuppins for pickin' pockets :)~

I'm just playing with you, Jethro.

But I thought Jews had all the money and controlled the world?

Which is it?

You're all about hate.

Haha--Ive never said that

or indicated that I think that. My message is simple and my posts are clear and direct...stop giving aid to Israel and other countries. You write that you agree, but if you truly agreed my posts wouldn't upset you.

If any of you haven't seen this please take a look. If you agree, please share with friends on Facebook. It is having a tremendous effect on AIPACS ability to bribe our corrupt politicians into giving money that is much needed here at home--thank you!

Stupid discussion

"Abraham" was actually the deity Brahma along with the female fertility god Ishtar. They had a son/sun called Ywye to light the world. Over centuries of oral storytelling of nomadic family tribes it became the story of Abraham. It is no coincidence that there were 12 tribes of Israel. Just as there are 12 Disciples. It is based on the 12 months of the year. You can directly correlate astrological labels of the time with the storytelling.

Just sayin....

would you have any more info about the topic at hand?

There are many. Probably the most palatable for you would be "The Jesus Mysteries". It is a good basic look at astrological and 'pagan' interpretations of star and sun deities. The story of Yeshua is told over and over again, both before and after the alleged person lived in the Christian Bible. If you look at ancient religions across the globe, the relationship of 12 months and zodiacs of the year is pretty obvious.

One basic concept is the "nativity". The "sun/son" rises out of virgo (virgin)for a couple thousand years at the end of December. All over the Northern Hemisphere ancient cultures celebrated this time of the shortest day. There is really just too much to get into.

A slightly harder-hitting book is "The Christ Conspiracy".

Bold statement

For anyone to make such a claim and not include everyone is supremist and only leads to destruction.

So yah everyone is gods chosen. If you beileve in creation. Its all his.

Really? Ok.

Then next time I want to know what the Bible says, I'll just ask what your opinion is instead.

So we have to include everyone, now? Even Satanists and child molesters? Is that what the Bible says? That is what we're discussing isn't it, what the Bible says?
You can chose not to believe it, but to just decide that it says something it doesn't, because you don't like the way it makes you feel, that sounds like something I'd hear from democrat atheists on huffington post.

Maybe you shouldn't even want to be one of the Chosen People. I mean, chosen for what? To die on the Cross? Suffer in the holocaust. 400+ years of Slavery in Egypt? Sounds like it's pretty tough to be Chosen by G-d. You sure you wanna be part of that? Be scapegoated and blamed?

Just ask Yeshua, it's tough being Chosen.

The old victim card

First of all Blow back from evil deeds causes the agressors to suffer not that they caim to be the masters and identify everyone else as their property.

Second of all Prove that history is accurate, I call it just more of the bully claiming to be the victim while they continue to abuse those around them.

The poor choosen people so harmed through the years, show the reasons why and then meybe we can have a better discussion.

Self-sacrifice is not victimhood

I get your agenda. I know what you're about. You hate Jews.

No? What is your agenda?

I think people who practice

I think people who practice permaculture are the chosen people.

and indeed,

they shall "inherit the Earth" because they actually act DO & LIVE a life of ethical stewardship of ALL of God's Creations!

If secularist: permaculturalists are the REAL 'sustainable' environmental activists, "do"-ists/stewards of Mother Nature!

If, like many believe, the annual feasts are a part of this "ceremonial law" that was supposedly abolished, then how do you explain the use of the words "for ever" four times in Leviticus 23?

Why did Paul continue to keep the feasts even after the resurrection? You can see that at Acts 18:21 and Acts 20:16.
“I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem.”
"for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost."

And, how do you explain Zechariah 14:16-17 and Isaiah 66:23?

“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD[YHUH] of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD[YHUH] of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain” (Zech. 14:16-17).

"And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD[YHUH]." Isaiah 66:23

I like Mr. Veith and have learned a lot from him, but I would object on that point.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Because they were not merely part of ceremonial law.

They are part of the covenant itself that was agreed to by Israel. The ordinances concerning His Covenant came later. They have physical and Spiritual significance. Passover and the blood of the lamb was the salvation of physical Israel and Passover and the blood of the lamb is the salvation of Spiritual Israel as well. The Feast of Unleavened is still the Feast of Unleavened but the leavening is sin. Just think if the apostles didn't keep the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), they would not have received the Holy Spirit. Next comes Feast of Trumpets which has not been fulfilled Spiritually yet as well as Atonement and Tabernacles. These Feasts have meaning to Yahweh and His Chosen but not to those who do not know Him and reject His truth in favor of the traditions of men.

To say that these days have no meaning or are voided is a show of ignorance or outright rebellion. Yet these same people who seek to destroy these Scripturally sanctioned observances and Holy Days would instead adamantly preach idol worship in the keeping of christmas, easter and sunday worship.

You do right by quoting Scripture in context. Some people are more interested in following religion instead of Scripture. Your tag line says "REPENT!" Here is the question for the unrighteous. Are we called to repent from being lawful or are we called to repent from lawlessness? The answer is plain.

Yahshua bless you.

I'm not an expert on the Bible. Just an admirer!

In Deuteronomy 4:13 the Lord “...declared unto you [the children of Israel] his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.” In verse 14, Moses makes a difference between the ten commandments of the Lord, and other “statues and judgements” that “the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you”. In Deuteronomy 31: 24 “...when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book” he commands the Levites to “...put it in the side of the ark of the cove-nant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.” These handwritten ordinances were a “witness against” the children of Israel when they rebelled in the future (see Deuteronomy 31: 27). The record of the feast days were part of these ordinances that were handwritten by Moses — while the moral law was written by the finger of God upon tables of stone. One set of laws were permanent, while the other was temporary — foreshadowing the advent of Christ.

Paul tells us in Colossians 2:14 that when Christ was crucified He was “...Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross”. The temporary handwritten ordinances of feast days (etc.) were blotted out by the cross. The sacrificial system of types and shadows pointing to the “lamb of God” was now unnecessary, because the real Lamb of God (Christ) had fulfilled all the symbolic meaning in these ceremonies and feasts. So the short answer to your question is that we no longer have to observe these feast days — since the reality they are pointing towards has already come.

At the council at Jerusalem in Acts 15, a dispute arose about wheither the Gentile believers should be obliged to obey these ordinances by practicing circumcision (and other “laws” that were part of these writings of Moses). The early Church wrote a letter to the Gentile Churches. In Acts 15: 28, 29 they tell the Gentiles “...it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; that ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well…” This decision not to burden the Gentiles with the ordinances of Moses, freed the generations that followed from observing the various feast days, etc. — but in no way relieved the obligation to obey the moral commandments written by God on the tables of stone! Since the Sabbath commandment is the fourth of the ten commandments in the moral law of God, we are expected to obey it — while we can safely look upon the feast days (etc.) as symbolic teaching tools that explain portions of Christ’s ministry, but are not necessary for salvation.

Ellen White writes in Desire of Ages, in the chapter "In Remembrance of Me", pp. 652-653 the following:

"Christ was standing at the point of transition between two economies and their two great festivals. He, the spotless Lamb of God, was about to present Himself as a sin offering, that He would thus bring to an end the system of types and ceremonies that for four thousand years had pointed to His death. As He ate the Passover with His disciples, He instituted in its place the service that was to be the memorial of His great sacrifice. The national festival of the Jews was to pass away forever. The service which Christ established was to be observed by His followers in all lands and through all the ages.

The Passover was ordained as a commemoration of the deliverance of Israel from Egyptian bondage. God had directed that, year by year, as the children should ask the meaning of this ordinance, the history should be repeated. Thus the wonderful deliverance was to be kept fresh in the minds of all. The ordinance of the Lord's Supper was given to commemorate the great deliverance wrought out as the result of the death of Christ. Till He shall come the second time in power and glory, this ordinance is to be celebrated. It is the means by which His great work for us is to be kept fresh in our minds. "

As we can see from this passage, Christ instituted the communion service "in the place of" the services that had hitherto been a part of the sanctuary service. That system of types and ceremonies He was "bringing to an end".

In an article in the Review & Herald June 14, 1898, she also wrote:

"In this ordinance [the last supper or communion], Christ discharged his disciples from the cares and burdens of the ancient Jewish obligations in rites and ceremonies. These no longer possessed any virtue; for type was meeting antitype in himself, the authority and foundation of all Jewish ordinances that pointed to him as the great and only efficacious offering for the sins of the world. He gave this simple ordinance that it might be a special season when he himself would always be present, to lead all participating in it to feel the pulse of their own conscience, to awaken them to an understanding of the lessons symbolized, to revive their memory, to convict of sin, and to receive their penitential repentance. He would teach them that brother is not to exalt himself above brother, that the dangers of disunion and strife shall be seen and appreciated; for the health and holy activity of the soul are involved.

In this passage it is absolutely clear, that to keep the feasts is an insult to God. These new theories that have risen among God's people are the work of the enemy designed to distract us from the most important end-time message. There is no old forgotten ceremony or rite that we must be keeping. This is not "new light". This is a regression backwards, and those that teach that we need to keep the feasts are not understanding what Jesus intended to be done with the communion service or His death.

We still want to know: what

We still want to know: what part of "forever" is hard to understand? When did "everlasting" become "temporary"? What is the end of "perpetual"?

Just how long is "all your generations"? According to The Church "all your generations" really means "thirty-four generations."

They were givin that promise...but when they Rejected Jesus...

as the Messiah, and stoned Stephen, they lost, as a race of people that promise and it was transferred to the Followers of Jesus! So the promise is still fulfilled, but in the Followers of Jesus and not so-called Jews.

Please read Romans 11

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

That's True

Once they rejected Jesus as the savior they were no longer favored. And after they had Jesus murdered God made them swarthy and scattered them to wander all over the earth without a home as an example to teach others how not to behave.

"I ask then: Did God reject

"I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means!

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, 'Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.' Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either." Romans 11:1,17-21 (NIV)

The promise wasn't transferred; we were. If you are a believer you have been transferred to where the promise is, not the other way around.
