UPDATED w/PICS The Day I Left Urban Hell and Moved to the Country - July 8th 2013

Last month I lived in a cookie cutter home in Southern California, this month I have a big house and 20 acres in Montana.

I no longer work for anyone but myself and have opened Dry Creek Ammo, manufacturing ammunition and www.AmmoPit.com as a web store that will be slowly growing in more custom ammunition as well as tactical arms and equipment. Right now I only have .223/5.56 Ammunition and cleaned brass for the same caliber. Sales are going okay so far, though I have not put a red cent into marketing yet, just my own time.

I suppose some will think I should label this post as "advertisement" and I suppose it is some extent. I really wanted to rejoice vocally that I've made the move to break free. We are going to do a few things on the property to make our own electricity, we have our own well that taps a 90ft deep aquifer that is pure and sweet drinking water from Bridger Mountain snow melt. We are going to get a cow soon, chickens, sheep and we will see what else. The kids will have a great time with 4H I think! Maybe Future Farmers of America too.

I would love anyone here to take a look at my website and let me know what you think of the look of it. I will be doing more and more graphic updates all the time as well as adding products such as custom milled AR15s, knives, and other things. By this time next year we should have a real nice assortment of everything. www.ammopit.com

Thanks to anyone that reads this and to anyone that gives any feedback for the website. Open for Business, no longer a SLAVE to a corporation.

Kind Regards,
Mr. Kotter

UPDATE: finally

I will answer a few of you all directly regarding ammunition questions in the next couple days.

For now, I am offering an Xmas special to DP'rs and I'm coming in quite a bit less expensive that I originally thought.

I have in stock:
1. 55gr. FMJ $350+ shipping for DP'rs
2. 55gr. Soft Points $370+ shipping
3. 62gr. Steel Core penetrators $390+ plus shipping (only 2,000 rnds left)

I will honor these prices through the New Year for you all!
www.ammopit.com (you can find my email address there as well). I don't have a coupon code thing working yet, but you can email me to make any arrangements.

CC's okay, Money Orders welcome. Bitcoin not yet an option, I'm still on the fence about it even with all the good selling points here at the DP.

Sorry to hit and run, but I am working 16 hrs a day now that the gears are finally turning with custom reloading and getting components in.

Merry Xmas! I've been looking in a couple times a day at DP, but I don't have much to say these days that isn't already being said multiple times by others who are much more eloquent than myself.

Love the Beautiful Bozeman area

I'm in the mountains N of HLN. We are always very thankful to have like minded folks move here.
I'm thinking of selling my home and was on Craig's List checking prices and discovered this great place/business ($300,000) for those interested; the area is full of RP conservatives. http://stileyfarms.com/

Lived in Cutbank as a child.

I only remember the snow. Made forts in the drifts against the house.

Oh and I bookmarked it.

I may order ammo if/when you get what I need and I can order closer to the quantity I desire.

Seems to be a nice website.

I would say Good Job. Just don't forget to fill in the content at some of your bottom links and get a couple reviews from past customers.

Will do

I'm a one man band at this point still, but I am getting to all the little things bit by bit!

Merry Christmas!

I stil live just north of ny
cannot convince the wife that our"town" "home" and place we grew up in is not as important as happiness and freedom...god bless

Looks wonderful

makes me miss Montana! We've gone several times. Love it. Enjoy - and congratulations.

are your prices for reloads?

Shooter's World (only decent range by my house) is selling 1200 rounds for 800 bones. 700 if you are a member. That's the cheapest retail price I have seen my area. I can find prices for like 45 cents a round from individual sellers, but most of that ammo I am finding is steel cased coated stuff that fails to feed every couple hundred rounds in my rifle. for practice thats totally fine as I need to know be practiced at clearing failures etc.. but if shtf....anyway you know the story I am sure.

I have nothing against reloads...Just want to make sure that the prices are not some kind of optical illusion lol. Those are good prices. The range i go to doesn't allow reloads, but I'll sneak em in anyway, they can kiss my @ss with their price gauging

HI Conal

Yes, these are reloaded brass with new components. Tested, tested and tested again and again. They ALL fit through a .223/5.56 case gauge before being packed up. The ammo I have on there now was made by LANGLEY MUNITIONS here in MT and my label will be up after my FFL arrives in the next 4 weeks.

I am doing custom loading at the moment for folks supplying the components (so the ATF won't get on me) and just finishd 5K 62gr FMJ Penetrators last night.

Prices will get even better as soon as the wholesalers will talk to me upon getting my FFL in place. I am shooting for apprx $450 plus shipping, give or take depending on the type of bullets I use.

Please post again when you are able to start selling and shipping out orders. I'm ready to buy!

I'm ready to rock and roll!

As far as any range is concerned, these babies are new factory loads made by a professional manufacturing company.

Would the owner of this

lovely property mind swapping it for a 700 sq.ft. apartment in Hong Kong for a couple of weeks? :)

Howdy neighbor

I too am in Gallatin county. You'll enjoy Montana, be prepared for the winter. It can get.... interesting.

I lived up here 17 years ago

and went to high school and college here. I still have my old Sorels!! haha
.... and my long undies too :-P

Good deal

I've noticed the winters getting a bit nastier in the past few years. Hails more often during the year too.

Welcome home, friend. Welcome home. :)

Thanks a mill BeerSnob!

This winter is trying to set a 20 year record for cold! So much for global warming lol.

Cheers and Beers!
Merry Christmas

I apologize

I apologize if this is an inappropriate question, but since many of us are striving for similar futures, I was curious how much the land and home cost you. Feel free to not answer, but that looks like a great piece of land. I hope you are prepared for Montana winters - gets down right frigid. If you haven't already, blueberries do very well in these climates. :D Good job!!

After the honeymoon start

After the honeymoon start forming alliances with other like minded folks.

And prepare for winter.

Be be careful to screen out backstabbers.

Nice job

I am certainly envious.

Best of luck. I hope I can do the same in the next 5-10 years.

They say once you leave you can't ever come back, which is somewhat true unless you have a lot of money, but maybe I wouldn't want to go back.

I haven't been to Montana but my father has and says it is a good place to be, and I respect my father's opinion.

I just hope once I inherit his property when he passes and move somewhere else he would forgive me. Either that or I turn his place into an all out farm, but I've looked at the cost and it isn't something I could really afford.

My dad's best friend lives in Bozeman I think.

The only think tethering me to CA is family and the weather. I don't want to tear my son away from his friends either. Once he is an adult we can discuss matters further.

Best of luck. The pictures are great. Thanks for the passive act of encouragement.

it is a great story even if

it is a great story even if it is an advertisement :) good marketing. Stay free brother

Thanks for sharing and congrats on breaking free!

Please keep us up to date on all your projects! I bookmarked your website for future use! I'm going on 4 months now since I escaped but I haven't been able to leave the city yet!

Can I Come And Stay With You Mr. Kotter

You did good..Congratulations!

Congrats on the move

Welcome to the valley.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.

Well done Sir!

I am sure you will find the happiness you seek - please do your best to not let Montana become commiefornia.

Liberty = Responsibility

Just one tip - I hope you have an FFL and some insurance, just to bail you out of idiots with lawsuits. (I'm not a lawyer!)

I'd like to just sell pepper spray, but I'd have to do what I just mentioned in order to get it done: http://www.firearmlicense.org/where-can-i-legally-buy-pepper...
