Very disappointed in this debate

Horrible performance. The question to McCain went over voters heads and he should have had something better picked out to slam him. In his defense he has very little time to talk. The media bias has blackballed him and I'd be suprised if he is invited back to anymore. I hope that no one saw this debate.

at this point I really don't care
Its easy to ignore him when there are 5 candidates, but soon it'll be 3
OMG....I just got to watch RP's question to McCain
and as RP mentioned the Working Group on Financial Markets I about fell off my chair watching McCain reaction. He didn't know what the hell RP was talking about...it was like a deer in the headlights. LOL....I know most Americans don't know what it is, but still...it was so funny.
The real Republican
I think Ron Paul was showcasing a leadership policy question. McCain is not the man the US economy needs, not with that ?answer? Don Luskin is an excellent addition for economic advisor, and this question probably came from him.
Overall, the debate was clearly defining the choices and future of the GOP. Excluding and disenfranchising Ron Paul supporters can either stop, or the GOP will loose in a very big way.
The McCain question was clear - the other candidates had better step up their game and start talking seriously about the economy. With 9 trillion dollars in debt, it is critical to have more than some names to drop, you had better have some clarity, concepts and control.
The GOP must let Ron Paul compete. Otherwise the GOP is done.
It is refreshing to see the GOP presented with a choice of having a strong party and a better country at the same time. I think Ron Paul made this case very well tonight.
wow let this thread
wow let this thread die...how weak...ron paul performed greatly.
T.
He was great! What the hell are you talking about?
Don't know what the hell some of you people are talking about he was on point and thrashed them on the economy the war, SS and health care and tied them all together. Hopefully a lot of Florida retirees were watching!

Dr. Paul seemed a little under the weather or something.
neo cons
probably put somethin in his water
I loved each and every of Pauls words
He was amazing the debate was awesome. and Ron Paul got applause and the Last word!.. so you oh disapointed one I feel are in need of therapy..heheehehehehehe...
WHAT YOU TALKIN BOUT
And you could do so much better I am sure and I bet you were a 10 time congressman and a better candidate if you are why is this not the dailyesircy because he knows what the hell he is doing and he is doing it just fine. If you would do it better get up and do it .
dude - dont get mad
Its okay to think Ron can do better at something than he did.
We dont support him as passionately as we do because he is perfect. No one is, and no one needs to be. Theres already room for improvement - and my comments are in the spirit of making him do better.
yeah, he needs to do better at these debates
Ron should address the american people directly by looking into the camera instead of the moderator.
Let them ask the question - he should address the answer to the camera.
Remember how poorly Bush did in the Kerry debates :)
We can still win this.
i would agree but...
I think the best strategy the doc has is the fact that he makes you ask questions about your knowledge of policy whether monetary, foreign, or domestic. Also remember the fact that alot of people who would not normally pay attention to the election have been turned on to politcs for multiple reasons, examples being iraq war, dr paul, holy sh%t were gonna have bush clinton bush clinton!, canada has better money!?, this everything made in china crap is getting out of hand, etc. Education my friend. *I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.*
I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.
Perhaps you don't get it.
The question was purposfully designed to show McCain's ignorance. Perhaps you didn't notice that McDumbass never answered the question. He didn't have a clue.
If you think no one else caught that, you're kidding yourself. There were 9 people at my house watching the debate. My 8 year old Nephew looked up at me and said "He didn't answer the question Uncle Bob."
Laugh? I thought I'd die!
Exactly
and McDumbass (if I may) always has that "pained" look on his face like he's gotta go potty...
He looked like, "Oh, crap.
He looked like, "Oh, crap. I know this is gonna be bad; I just hope I can survive the next 90 seconds." Ever play "Dirty Santa" at Christmas? McCain had that half smile you get when you know someone is about to "steal" your present and there's nothing you can do about it.
Nah. It was good.
The key point was the PRESIDENT'S Working Group. If Insane McCain wants to be President so damn much, then he ought to have a clue on how things are run there at 1600PA, and the question was designed to illustrate that Dr. Paul knew what was going on but that McCain had no idea. The "economic" part and the "sunshine" part were just subtle window dressing.
The net result was to make McCain look like the babbling fool that he is. It succeeded.
The key was the answer, not the question. A fantastic psyops carried out by the doc.
"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"
You must be either a new
You must be either a new Paul supporter, or just ridiculously lost in this whole process. The power is not in Dr. Paul's hands when it comes to these debates. They know this and can't challenge him on anything confrontational because he schools everyone who tries to rear end him with a vicious question to make him look bad.
Debate tonight was just boring because they didn't give him a chance to tie their legs around their head and stuff afore mentioned head up their own arse...
Go canvass and quit whining...

Let me inform you of
Let me inform you of something. I have supported Dr. Paul since May of last year and I am very educated in the entire process. I'm not all sunshine and rainbows like a lot of you because I can see things the way they are. He didn't connect with the people tonight and when he tried to stump McCain he started stuttering and didn't look into the cameras. I love Dr. Paul and his message but I dont't think he can win without the media behind him. Roney's money is going to see him through to the nomination.

I agree.
The question meant something to Paul and fiscal/monetary policy wonks but nothing to the average viewer, and for that reason McCain was able to successfuly fudge the answer with a lot of name dropping.
New Hampshire and Ecuador
That was far from a
That was far from a successful dodge, he looked like a useless idiot up there and it was blatantly obvious to the non-Paul fan that he just didn't have a clue what Paul was talking about.
When in doubt, drop names out.

I agree 100%
Paul does what he does best. Appeal to the informed voter. That's you and me. THe problem is the other 95% of voters are left saying "huh? what did that guy just say?" His applause after the Iraq comment were good and his finishing statements were also good, but the McCain question was a complete flop. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give him a 7 this time.
bla bla bla
he cut mc cain off at the knee caps.
To: esircy7192... He hit a homerun tonight. Very insightful stuf

Ron did great
He did great. he set himself apart and I loved the question to McCain because it was a delberate attmpt to make him look bad which it totally did. I just hope the MSM picks up on it the second time they watch it.
How about Huckster comparing WMDs to Easter eggs? Right then and there, qnyone who has ever thought about voting for Schmuckabee should have said, "uh uh, no way!"
What about his Dr. Phil comment:???
What a jack ass!!!
He caught McCain with his pants down in a FIB.
McCain said he knew a great deal about the economy.
Dr. Paul asked him a simple YES OR NO QUESTION. Would you or would you not get rid of this very important group that pulls the strings of the economy. As a person who knows a "great deal" about the economy it should have been a simple yes or no and the reasons why.
McCain could not answer it and rambled. It really hurt McCain's integrity with those watching.
It was brilliant. Simply Brilliant..
And I Wonder
How many curious debate watchers might just google the President's working group aka Plunge Protection Team and find out whose really controlling their 401Ks? That might pssss a few people off.
None, the only people who
None, the only people who watch these debates are the ones who already have their minds made up and just want to see their candidate do well. The Average Joe just catches the soundbites on the news and picks a candidate from there. Most people are uneducated and/or just don't care. That's why it's important to have the media on your side.
