Are libertarians The Chosen People?

(please note the small 'l')

I have read the entire Bible and it seems to me that God has chosen one people over all others to rule over his kingdom on earth - the libertarians.

Are libertarians God's chosen people?

You don't get more libertarian than what those few words describe.

The bold effort the present bank had made to control the government ... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it-Andrew Jackson

I like this post

And my personal opinion is that if the shoe fits, wear it.

That's the sort of forward-thinking thinking...

Libertarians of ancient Rome were called "pagan heretics"

The word "pagan" has lost its original meaning. This is very important to understand, particularly by those of us who value the ideas of "Liberty" and "localism."

Pagan is derived from the Latin word "Paganus" and originally meant "region delimited by markers" and later "of or relating to the countryside", "country dweller", "villager", or "country folk." It derives from pagus ("district", "province"), is related to pangere ("to fix", "to fasten"), and ultimately comes from PIE *pag- ("to fix").

Later these ordinary "citizens" who were "fixed" to their land would become known as "pagan heretics" (or "free thinking citizens") by the Roman military in their imperial conquest for food, land, and resources. Moreover, the misuse of the word pagan as a pejorative term for polytheists was the result of the "War on Pagans" initiated by the Roman oligarchy in much the same way that the corporate elite today use the "War on Terror" as an excuse to criminalize political dissidents, the vast majority of which are free thinking citizens and country folk who simply want to be left alone.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds. - Bob Marley

I get pissed

every time I hear some so called christian leader or person refer to another group of peoples religion as pagan. All I hear when they use the word "pagan" is "YOU should believe what we tell you to believe because we know everything and you know nothing!" To me calling someone a pagan is the same as calling someone of African descent a nigger. Sadly this is exactly the way they mean it to sound.

I confirm.

I confirm.

French, the Latin influence of which is rooted in the Latin slang spoken by the remnants of occupying Roman soldiers during and after Rome's fall, who would mix / melt with the local tribes of the time, before today's France, does contain the nouns :

"pays", meaning: country or countryside / region (e.g., as for wines and vineyards)

and "paysan", meaning: peasant or one who lives in the countryside,

also most likely derived from "paganus".

France is known to be at least a 1,000 year old (if counting only from Hugues Capet and up; 987 AD) melting pot of :

Romans / gaulles tribes / celts / italians / spanish / western germans / normands.

Hence the linguistic freak / curiosity that the French language is, btw (including for us, native speakers, when it's to be written...)

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

Tut tut. You French aren't such a bad lot.

what we want

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

That's great. But it's also a lie.

Don't you maybe perhaps want to force everyone you know to just chill out and become their own master?

Don't you want them to get the serenity you feel, even if you have to shake them?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

We are the chosen people, we've chosen freedom

Consider the pig within the factory farm. Housed by a cage built entirely to milk as much profit as possible, built just large enough to fit the pig. That is the only corporate concern.

Politicians look on us as voters and taxpayers in the same way the corporation looks at that pig.

This would apply to other countries as well. Italy, Germany, Israel, France, UK.

Outstanding topic Chris.

Consider the pig

Consider the wild pig, hunted, trapped, trophy, sport, predator of crops (number of years back, there was an ecoli outbreak that killed about 200 people and the conclusion was wild pigs, which were hunted and exterminated for hundreds of miles around organic crops).

And then we have the pet pig, lives in homes, have beds and free range of the yard, vets, insurance, masters that love them, feed them their favorite foods, dress them in sweaters..

Politicians see us as wild, domesticated pets, imprisioned justly and unjustly, rich, poor, active, not interested.. but the ones they see the most, are the ones who make themselves seen with letters, phone calls, conventions and meetings, and contributions.

Great comment. Some moron downvoted you.

Glad to put you back to even.

Libertarians are not the chosen

They do the choosing

Is Ron Paul Moses then?

Is Ron Paul Moses then?

The founding fathers

Would be Mosis since they wrote our version of the Ten Commandments

I guess that would make

Ron Paul a John the Baptist of sorts, paving the way and preparing the people for liberty and freedom.

I AM is all that is. Everything else is malleable.

If so, how long must we wander about in the desert

until we reach the Promised Land?

Or maybe we're still in bondage, and haven't yet crossed the Red Sea.

there is no "chosen" people

If you're libertarian, chances are you probably believe that there should be no rulers over anyone.

Beep beep boop beep... I am a Paulbot... prepare for liberty and prosperity!

Probably not

but it does raise questions...
Thanks for the Post.

Ron brought the Liberty movement together, Rand is expanding the crap out of it! :)

Thanks Chris

I like how your mind works... You always get me chuckling while I'm thinking. Or thinking while I'm chuckling. Or... what were we talking about again?

Chosen to be marginalized, controlled by GOP taking LP presidential nominations, divided by left and right wing fringe issues, infiltraited by narcs and anti-terrorists operatives, mislead by ant-government personalities which prevents them from organizing into viable state and national parties, used as a facade for MSM and talking heads to cover issues that by association with the LP means they will never make main stream politics, and occupied by people who have no intention of changing anything, but like to talk about change, profit off "rock star events, and sensational books and videos for entertainment purposes.

Your truth is showing. Very nice! +1

All based on my experience as a Libertarian Party member from 1976- 93. Been there, done that.

Now it's time to materialize issues and that happens in the GOP, as Ron Paul began with his invitation to join him, and Rand continues.

Chosen by themselves to be free.

Libertarians are chosen people

I can guarantee that we are on several Governments surveillance lists.xD

Give me a break!

An invisible, undetectable being, residing somewhere out there in the vast expanses of the universe has visited our planet, communicating directly with certain chosen individuals through mentally telepathic visions has chosen a select group of superior beings to be its chosen people -- makes sense to me!!!

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

Of course when you put it in those terms it sounds ludicrous. How about these terms: there is a fundamental paradox of human reality. That is that there are something's that are not rational or reasonable, because they exist outside of the capacity for human comprehension. This can be described scientifically and these phenomena are as real as the smart phone I am using to write this. These phenomena are the basis for morality. The terms we use to receive them are truth, love, goodness, light, joy, wonder, beauty, and yes even language. Nobody denies that these exist. And yet none of these can be scientifically explained, except to say that they have been proven to exist across vastly different, and in many cases isolated cultures and societies.

So what's wrong with explaining these phenomena in terms that reference the human perspective? How do you describe something that doesn't exist in the in the framework of human understanding, but to create it in such away, using terms and concepts that are familiar and communicable?

What would you have us do ignore these realities because their is no way to define them objectively, except: The great unknown.

How about you stop criticizing people for their method of defining and understanding what good, love light, truth, joy, etc...

Instead why dont you reflect that it's all just an attempt to reach further into existence then our minds will let us.

Oh look - someone taught a monkey to type.

You are all the proof of intelligent design that I need...

Give me liberty, or give me Rand

As long as Rand supports sanctions against Iran, and rationalizes predator drones in U.S. skies, and admonishes us how we must pay "our" national debt to Rothschild's bank, and keeps Sean Hannity as his BFF, then yes, we are the chosen people ... of the neocons. We of the NoZe Brotherhood are thy chosen ones, suckers.

I don't really need God to tell me that

I Am The Chosen One.
